Demonstrations in Poland in defence of democracy.

. Remind us why PiS banned drones from flying over Warsaw after one was used to illustrate how big the demonstration was a few weeks ago?

There had to be a reason for that especially when PiS doest act like Western countries and do not interfere with society rights to demonstrate. There are many ways to estimate a scale of such a protest. Facebook is the most popular social media in the world. KOD has 127k supporters where many of them don't even live in Poland and even less of them attend demonstration. It takes simple mathematics to estimate how insignificant this artificially created movement is. It's like a small underdeveloped town trying to destroy what the 40 milion people country is trying to achieve.

There had to be a reason for that

The reason was to prevent KOD from using a drone to show how large the demonstration was. More to the point, they refused to explain why the law was brought in. Fortunately, the TV news simply used their helicopters instead to show the size of the following demonstration.

Anyway, why are you assuming that all KOD supporters are on Facebook? A lot of them aren't.

Of course not. My mom is a KOD supporter and she has no clue how to use a computer. That is the exact reason why she is a KOD supporter. She has no source of information other than Germany/EU operated so called independent media. I do strongly doubt that even with those outside of Facebook KOD protests are anywhere close to the amount of FB likes in attendance.

But she has a son who could direct her on to a right path?

She's the one who decides which path is right. I just show her my arguments. :)

Show her how to use internet then if your arguments don't work.

Yes, please do. She'll be disgusted to see things such as Piotrowicz calling Poland the the PRL in 2016.

No wonder why you are KOD supporter if you watch things like that.

Anyway, here goes. We're going to see a huge amount of demonstrations this coming weekend.

The only protest that is going to have a real effect is if people get on the train or bus and descend on Warsaw regularly in their tens of thousands. As people did so in the past in London demonstrations in the UK, and not in provincial centres.

Sorry Delph, but this really is clueless IMO. And it pains me to say so.

Who is going to pay them to do that?

People would be prepared to do that if they cared enough. But they don't, obviously.

They're Poles you see, and are used to having others do their thinking for them unfortunately, or, as is the the case with others, they are guilty of not caring about the well-being of their country. I've often heard Poles say "I'll just look after myself, because the country doesn't do anything for me..."

Yes. It was very effective. They're still in USSR EU version and even if muslims run around with a machete dismembering a vet on the streets of London the politically correct police shoots at them carefully to not make any harm then inprison them to make them live better lives than in home country and playing playstation. It made me sick. If a couple of sheep-shaggers would kill a a Polish vet on the street of Warsaw it would make Poles go out on the streets demanding justice. Events in London are typical to the blind-tollerance loving liberals and make me sick even now thinking about it.

That is _such_ a PRL thing to say, it was super strong in the early 90s but then seemed to be fading some. And now, it's back again.

The 4th republic is essentially the PRL without the lip service to communism.

No. That actually happened not so long back and there were no demonstrations at all in Poland. From memory they were trying to shoot a tiger.

That is going to change. Hopefully.

About the Constitutional Tribunal. In the times of PO 14 out of 15 judges were chosen by PO. Now 5 of them are appointed by PiS and 10 of them are chosen by parliament majority of 2/3rds. How come this suddenly is against the pluralism idea Shultz is talking about?

You started to post here fairly recently and I don't know much about you but going by your comments you have excited biggest clowns on PF by far.

I only wonder are you really that clueless and dumb or you have a vested interest in supporting post-commie system.

4th republic is essentially the PRL

And the 3rd Republic WAS the nomenklatura aspect of PRL or red bourgeoisie -- the privileged caste. A PZPR manual once defined cognac as: the beverage of the working class imbibed by the lips of their leadership.

Really? Given how in the past eight years PO never had a majority in the parliaments which appointed those judges, perhaps you could explain how PO managed to choose any judges at all?

Also, Maria Gintowt-Jankowicz, Wojciech Hermelinski and Marek Kotlinowski have been in office since 6 November 2006, Zbigniew Cieslak since 6 December 2006, Teresa Liszcz since 8 December 2006, and Mirosław Granat since 27 April 2007. All of those six were appointed by a parliament that was controlled by PIS and its even more unpleasant allies. Perhaps you'd care to explain how PO managed to chose judges when parliament was controlled by PIS? Or would you prefer to admit that you've just been caught lying yet again?

Now shut up and think.

Firstly, seeing as even your own source shows that of 460 votes, PO had 202 votes (and cast only 192 votes of the 416 who voted), perhaps you would care to explain how a party that has only a minority of the votes can choose anything.

The reality is the PO was one of the parties which supported those candidates and without support from other parties those candidates would not have been elected.

Secondly, would you care to address the fact that Maria Gintowt-Jankowicz, Wojciech Hermelinski and Marek Kotlinowski have been in office since 6 November 2006, Zbigniew Cieslak since 6 December 2006, Teresa Liszcz since 8 December 2006, and Mirosław Granat since 27 April 2007? Or are you planning to simply move away from that particular lie you've been caught telling in the same way that you moved away from your ridiculous lie that in Poland "every single legal document" mentions people's ethnicity?

2006-2015 was the period of PO rulling. Those ppl were there because they worked I'm the name of PO illicit policy. So simple. PO didn't like changes. Your "arguments" actually work in my favour. Liberals are very limited.

Why post such complete and utter rubbish? Are you trying to make people laugh out loud when they read your work?

But thanks for underlining how desperate the supporters of the 18% regime are getting: not only are the uber PISed-up lying about "In the times of PO 14 out of 15 judges were chosen by PO" but now they're even trying to claim that the last couple of years that Poland was unfortunate enough to have the Dear Leader Chairman Kaczynski in charge of a regime were actually the period of PO ruling. Clearly the pressure being applied by the protests is having better results than we hoped.

The pressure is certainly building, because the insults are growing and growing. It's all too obvious that PiS have adopted the Kremlin strategy of putting people online to abuse and insult the opposition at every turn. The only problem is that this isn't Russia and people aren't buying it ;)

Few moments ago, Duda spoke on Serbian TV. Fascinating. What a leader. i mean Duda wasn`t guest of Serbian TV but, it was evening news reportage from Brussels about Duda-Tusk talks. Anyway, Tusk sounded pretty bad when said to Duda: ``come back to light side of the force``. What a dirty player, that Tusk. But, Duda shall endure all provocations.

Go Duda! Racowie are with you and Poland! Down with Tusk!

This is kind of new era. Traitors now patronize from Brussels. One would expect that some Anglo or Germanic master speak directly to Duda in Brussels but no, master sending Tusk to upset decent people. Omnipresent and omnipotent Tusk.

You are an ignorant fellow, aren't you?. When Tusk was running the show we never heard his name mentioned. Do you know why?

He was actually busy getting business done. That is why your children can go to a modern school now, and why you can get to work on time on modern roads.

Absolutely clueless.

Exactly. One reason the pro-democracy movement has emerged is that so many ordinary people fear the steps backward that the current regime want to take. And they fear even more the mess that their incompetence and venality may cause.
Polonius3 994 | 12,367

so many ordinary people

Time and again you have demonstrated that you don't circulate with ordinary people but with privileged, snooty, elites -- those who won out after the post- roundtable transformation. These people have already enjoyed the fruits of the Solidarność revolution. Don't you think those perks should be spread about a bit more fairly?
