^^ Notice the language used by PiS supporters against KOD and supporters of democracy.

Dude, you and your crowd here are foreigners involved in activities against the government democratically elected by Polish citizens just several weeks ago. Now you plan to mix the whole damn thing with the largest annual charity action, the language is perfectly deserved. Yo and your foreign financed crowd are "supporters of democracy" as much as I am the Pope.

Except they're not. There's no "foreign financing" - that's just yet another poor PiS smear used against any opposition. And "my crowd" is very much Polish, as witnessed by the fact that I use Polish exclusively when meeting with my section.

What else can one expect from the PISed-up supporters of the 18% regime and the unelected dictator?

Are you denying results of latest elections, foreigner ?

It's entirely the same crude, abusive language used by supporters of the PZPR back in the day.

Are you denying results of latest elections, foreigner ?

No-one is denying results, Polonia. But the law is the law, regardless of what PiS think about it.

There's no "foreign financing"

Plenty of that in various "NGOs".

And "my crowd" is very much Polish

I am talking to two foreigners here. You don't like results of free and democratic elections in Poland ? Feck out then.

How about some evidence that KOD is financed from abroad?

You don't like results of free and democratic elections in Poland ?

It's our democratic right to take part in the opposition. I notice that you PiS supporters seem to be terrified of any opposition whatsoever. Wonder why?

It's our democratic right to take part in the opposition.

That is as much relevant for political landscape of Poland as you would be taking part in gay porn, foreigner.

"fact that I use Polish exclusively when meeting with my section."

This all sounds a bit like Insurgent Marxist leader speak, but are you "Che Guevara" or more like "Citizen Smith" (British comedy) leading the tooting popular front.

More like Benny Hill.

January will be very, very loud, I think.

Yes. I shall be there at Gdansk City Hall and will urge all my associates to do the same. I would have thought some civil disobedience is also called for, insistence that targets, such as real demands that need to be addressed.

Even in Solidarity times the government were "willing" to sit down at the table and talk to the opposition, so there should be some form of arbitration in place here...

Oh wait - there was. It was called the TK!

FFS.

Na The cast of Citizen smith have definitely moved to Poland and have joined PF, all this insurgency when pretending to be defending democracy reminds me of the UK in the 1970's oh those were the days , 3 day a week sabotaging car production bullying those who supported the elected government. I'm expecting Carl Marx to rise from his London grave join PF and give us all a rally cry.

Yes. I shall be there at Gdansk City Hall and will urge all my associates to do the same.

Hello. Oh another foreigner, what a surprise. Did you think about setting yourself on fire during the next demonstration ? That should help fighting democratically elected government and coul be trully beneficial to the whole humanity.

It's just a translation from Polish - they refer to a sub-committee as "sekcja".

Anyway, I'm neither, just a common ordinary person.

That is as much relevant for political landscape of Poland as you would be taking part in gay porn, foreigner.

As we can see, such eloquent posts are a characteristic of PiS supporters.

sekcja Sounds a bit paramilitary to me, when it is used in the context of demonstrations against a government.

are a characteristic of PiS supporters.

Another characteristic is Polish citizenship and the right to actually vote in the national elections here. A characteristic that PF's "section" of so called "democrats" (trying to overthrow democratically elected government) is missing.

If you are not a citizen of Poland you should not be demonstrating against our government or voting in Poland

Demonstrating against our government (in Poland) while being a foreigner makes you a insurgent.

while being a foreigner makes you a insurgent.

That's a description which takes some living up to in this city; I hppe I'm able to even a fraction of justice to the title.

Why? EU citizens can vote in local and European elections, and they have the right of residence. It's entirely normal and healthy for residents to be involved with current affairs here. Furthermore, everyone on here is a permanent resident at least.

Demonstrating against our government (in Poland) while being a foreigner makes you a insurgent.

Blimey. I wouldn't dare to refer to myself as one while there are many, many brave men and women alive that fought for today's free Poland.

Another characteristic is Polish citizenship and the right to actually vote in the national elections here.

Not really relevant, to be honest. There's no rule against Polish residents taking part in demonstrations, given that the "nationalists" on 11th November and PiS invite foreigners to their demonstrations too.

sekcja Sounds a bit paramilitary to me, when it is used in the context of demonstrations against a government.

Why? We have them at work to discuss rather mundane issues such as "who is organising the Christmas ball" and "who will buy the biscuits". Quite normal in Poland for any organised group to have them.

Of course it's relevant. You are posting here all that rubbish pretending to be a Polish voter. You aren't. Your opinion on current Polish democratically elected government is as relevant as that of someone from Tuvalu.

"there are many, many brave men and women alive that fought for today's free Poland" yes there were.

But on this forum they are more likely to be referred to as village toilet cleaners rather than revered or honored.

If Poland and its democracy was in a dire situation (God forbid) , and there was a call to arms by our Government, the foreign embassy's in Warsaw would be inundated with Expats demanding a ticket out of Poland.

PF would lose three quarters of its membership overnight. But they would all pop up a week later(In their home countries) to discuss how difficult their escape from Poland was.

Now now dolnoslask....
The Polish government have been perfectly happy to take my income tax, my ZUS, my property taxes, and VAT for the last 23 years. The fact that I can't be bothered with all that democracy, and at one time would have had to give up my British citizenship to take Polish citizenship means that I am not a Polish citizen.

AFAIC I have more of a voice than Wulkan/G/Iron/ and Polonia et al, but they have a vote if they hold citizenship, right? Although they haven't been here in donkey's years.

That's the real stupidity of the system , and yes, I do have a voice. If they try to take it away from me, I will withhold those taxes. Simple, innit?

If Poland and its democracy was in a dire situation (God forbid) , and there was a call to arms by our Government,

..........the airports would be inundated with Poles fleeing to the UK and Ireland.
Happy to fix it for you.

You are mistaking this generation for your fathers.'

Doug, there is nothing stopping you having Polish and British citizenship today, I for one would respect your choice in any electoral ballot.

I know that you understand a great deal about Poland, especially that of the Exiles in the UK (Nottingham polish clubs etc), I do get what you are saying about some of the younger generation here, they have allot to learn, many of the Polish "intelligentsia were systematically murdered by the soviets, you have the knowledge to help them learn more about their identity, please help them.
Harry

you pay taxes just like everyone else

How much tax does the unelected dictator, The Dear Leader Chairman Kaczynski, pay? It's all but impossible that he was able to pay for those very expensive alterations to his house on his salary as an MP, does he have extra untaxed income? And what about Father Director Rydzyk? What tax does he pay?

If Poland and its democracy was in a dire situation (God forbid) , and there was a call to arms by our Government, the foreign embassy's in Warsaw would be inundated with Expats demanding a ticket out of Poland.

And I suppose the Polish embassy in Washington would be innundated with requests by third generation PolAms to join the fight, right? You don't know what would happen any more than I do, but to insult those of us who have made our homes here by calling us cowards is below the belt.

30 Dec 2015 #568
Harry " calling us cowards is below the belt" what makes you think that I am calling you a coward, how can you possibly join the Polish army when you are not a Citizen of Poland.

If you wish to help Poland in times of trouble, please work towards gaining your citizenship.

As for my American brothers (Diaspora) who wished to help would be issued with a Polish passport immediately, many of them would already be familiar with the use of firearms and may have already served within the US Forces, they would be capable of making an immediate contribution.

Sorry Harry meant Roger

Did that years ago.

they would be capable of making an immediate contribution.

They could make an immediate contribution by coming to live in Poland and helping in this diffucult period after Communism,, but they prefer to live elsewhere.

And what about Father Director Rydzyk?

Why not become a citizen journalist and grab a video camera and confront both of them with your questions? Oh, that's right, you aren't a citizen and can't converse in Polish. Still, it's high time you took your online activism to the streets.

I look forward to your forthcoming video posts attempting to approach these public figures you dislike so much even if just for the entertainment value alone!
