These numbers are pretty interesting especially when you now look as infection rates and deaths in every country.

@Dirk diggler

Germany has much higher social standards than USA. And yup, each self employed German gets 9000. Its called Soforthilfe. Each employed German gets KuG, which is 60% of salary. We have gigantic budget surplus. You a gigantic deficit.

That said, our border is closed. While your ******** is still flooded from Mexico.

Numbers in Germany dropped by 97%. The africans now fly Mexico to cross into USA.

Dude...your poverty makes me sick

@Weimarer

Germany can survive coronavirus in a better shape than most countries because they have:

1. Very good health service.
2. Huge savings, so they don't have to get into debt to finance safety measures and special economic programs.
3. Quite efficient public services in general and disciplined society.

Poland is doing quite well too, but I think that in current situation some projects should be delayed for the time being (F35 for example), and some of the money from military and administration redirected towards health service.

What is vital right now is to stop the southern Europe from going into money-borrowing frenzy -- there are already voices there about special loans to revitalise the economy after coronavirus. They are already ears deep in debt, and all they can think of as a solution to their current problems is sinking even deeper into debt and taking new loans. This madness has to be stopped and I count on Germany to block any such idiotic projects.

While I don't like to give Germany credit for anything in general other than great cars, their health care system is very good compared to the US. Its viewed as a critical need service, while in US it is viewed as a profit center service. Two very different basic points of origin IMO. Same with University Education systems.

Data for the 27th of March 2020 (morning hours; an increase on the data of 24th of March in brackets)

Data for Poland: 1,221 confirmed cases, 7 cured. 16 deaths. [63% -- ?? -- 50%]
Data for Germany: 43,938 -- 5,673 -- 267 [66% -- 794% -- 46%]
Data for the UK:11,658 -- 135 -- 578 [57% -- 0% -- 58%]

The percentage increase in the number of confirmed cases and number of deaths is roughly of the same range in all the three countries considered.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Data for the 24th of March 2020 (morning hours):
Data for Poland: 766 confirmed cases; 13 cured; 8 deaths.
Respective data for Germany: 29,056 -- 453 -- 123
Respective data for the UK: 6,650 -- 135 -- 335
A striking difference between the UK and Germany - a nearly three times higher number of deaths against the four times lower number of the infected

Remember, Boris Johnson thought it best that the Brits get all infected at first, till someone told him what that would mean for the health care system in the country. Then he changed the course...

2. Huge savings, so they don't have to get into debt to finance safety measures and special economic programs.

You have no idea how glad most Germans are right now about the "schwarze Null" of our government. That it withstood the countless demands from all sides to spend these savings during the recent years! :)

On the other hand this crisis has shown that most of the real important people like nurses, police, firefighters or even cashiers in the supermarkets, all these people which keep our country running, are severely underpaid....there something has to happen once this crisis is over!

Boris Johnson thought it best that the Brits get all infected at first,

Some senior Tories want a 'government of national unity'. Mostly because they want to spread the blame should things go worse.

all these people which keep our country running, are severely underpaid...

The Tories clapped and cheered in parliament when the voted down the nurses' pay rise. We will remember that.

Yeah, the "Coronabonds"

9 Countries want them....Germany, Holland don't.

Yeah...it's a whole lot!

And if you would had asked me at any other time I would have said NO too...but this pandemia is so something else, maybe it would be necessary...this time...I dunno...

Looks like USA collapse into a blackhole right now. Highest number of infected, healthcare not functional anymore. In New York hospitals they must do triage, like in war zone and decide who they save and who they let die. They errect tents to store the dead bodies.

Im glad Germany has much better management regarding that.

In USA nurses are forced to wear trash bags now to protect themself

Nor true. Just spoke to my sister, an ER Doc in NYC. Its bad, but not that bad. A law just changed allowing 2 people on one ventilator if needed. Trash bags on top of surgical gowns in order to save on those. Love the fake news.

I'm afraid that after all this Donald Trump will not be eager to spend 2% of the GDP or more on defence. He may propose cuts at the expense of defending Europe against whoever might be her enemy. He might send a message: the US shall be spending more of its money on the healthcare system and shall let the Europeans to fend for themselves in defence.

I wonder whether leftists in Europe despising Trump now would be amused with that. Is Germany prepared to reduce spending on healthcare and increase spending on defence?
Bratwurst Boy 6 | 10,590

I doubt you could find anyone in Germany right now who really would prioritize the military over the health care system....

And with the upcoming costs for the financial support for the EU over this Corona crisis (and maybe even Coronabonds) Trumps demands will fall on totally deaf ears!

We are already at war (Trump said so)...and no NATO defence can help with that enemy!

I give a ****. USA can drop their defense by 90% and nothing would change. Germany, France ect simply have no enemy that justifies to spend billiions on military bullshit. The enemy is covid 19.

We now see that our way is right.

Maybe we even cut our defense now even further.

like in war zone and decide who they save and who they let die.

We must thank our Germans friends as America learned how to do this from the Germans in WW1 and WW2.

In USA nurses are forced to wear trash bags now to protect themself

Trash bags with sleeves ? No, those are disposable gowns, we don't use ours over and over again like Germany does.
You know what you call a German that is full of hate.........a Sauerkraut.
Both New York and Paris are starting to peak and need prayer from us Christians throughout the world.

I dont blame you. Germany has a uniquely powerful healthcare system.

For USa it looks bad. Your infection rate skyrockets and your healthcare system is already breaking down.

It is because testing is being done.My wife just went to a camp at a concert arena and got tested.Trump has a strategy watch the death rate.

I also heard the numbers in Poland are cooked.

Trump has no Plan. He is too dumb for a crisis like that. USA now has higher cases than even China and No other country had 1000 dead per day. Not even Italy.

Or is Trumps strategy to simply let nature take its course?

You're mistaken. The US is keeping military bases in Germany which prevent Germans from starting another war in the future.
Weimarer 10 | 620
27 Mar 2020 #924
@Spike31

Why should we start a war`Wars start when power balances shift. WW I and WW Ii started because Germany became dominant power in Europe and pushed UK and France behind it. After WW II the static changed. France and Uk accepted Germany as dominant power on the cintinent. Because that is natural order of things (largest population and most powerful economy). So this is a stable thing.

Germany has zero interest in any war, simply because we profit greatly from the power balance that exists right now.

How long USA can manage to hold its military alive is questionable. First cases even now on their aircraft carriers.

edition.cnn.com/2020/03/26/politics/coronavirus-cases-us-aircraft-carrier/index.html

Meanwhile the infection rate in USA explodes and they make tents to put the corpses in

ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/coronavirus/2020/03/25/tent-for-overflow-capacity-for-city-morgue-goes-up-in-manhattan

So far it appears USA is the worst prepared for this. Its a perfect mix. Weak healthcare system, rotten infrastructure. Large groups of people who ignore the warning.

USA now has most cases worldwide and one of highest death rates. There is no slow down visible and the infection rate even rises

Since USA becomes the blackhole of COVID-19, it will be important that EU blocks entry for all americans ito EU much longer than 30 days.
Ziemowit 13 | 4,075

USA now has most cases worldwide and one of highest death rates

What is even more appalling is the fact that their curve is the steepest of them all. It is almost perpendicular! The question is whether it is so because they detect so many cases which may pass unnoticed in Europe (those having no symptoms and not tested on a large scale) or the situation is really worse than in other countries.

The US is separated from Europe by a very big pond and this is good news for these days.

In Europe the steepest curve, steeper than than that of Italy, is the Spanish one. It is also worth noting that Germany's curve is as steep as the Italian one and Germany only lags behind Italy in numbers, so it would be interesting to see if the German curve flattens a little in the next days or it will continue to follow Italy's slope upwards.

An excellent situation can be observed in South Korea.
delphiandomine 85 | 18,266
27 Mar 2020 #926
Yet the death total is significantly lower. Something strange is happening in Italy and Spain that isn't being replicated elsewhere, so could it be that the German 'test everyone as much as you can' approach is paying off as people are getting quarantined faster and more effectively?

Tomorrow is going to be a very, very important day in Poland. The State Forestry Service is expecting crowds of people to visit forests, and as the weather is forecast to be nice tomorrow, but crappy from Sunday onwards, we might see hordes of people descend on forests close to cities and towns. If we do, there's a serious risk that the Spanish and Italian situation will repeat itself.

IMO, all the state forests should be shut this weekend.

That is you actually believe the numbers the Chinese have given, which is turning out to be a lie, just like everything else they claim, all lies all the time.

Im sure you believe them coz of your hatred for the USA, but we can still tell the Germans to get Phucked at anytime.

Germany has zero interest in any war,

Because you would lose just like the last time:)
Weimarer 10 | 620

@Joker

I give a **** about the numbers in China, fact remains that USA numbers explode

We won the last war. Usually nations that lose dont end up on top, we did. Its power games comrade and we were incredible good at that after 1945.

That said, what matters most is that Europe contains USA for further than 30 dys. It cant be that the current ban on american travellers is lifted after 30 days. When you see development in this, you see that it spins out of control in USA completly on a magnitude unknown to the world. Death rate in USA is abyssmal as well.

So much for "strongest country" they cant even cope with this Virus.

Beside letting you die because rotten medical system?

For maybe some people yeah, but the medical treatment I receive is better than anything in Europe. I pay literally a few dollars for any dental, eye, health, etc. care. Preventative is all free, surgeries, doctor visits, MRI scans, all that **** I get served as soon as I walk in the door. No wait at all. And at the end I even get a few pills to keep me either nice and sedated or my pupils dilated if there's a lot of work to be done

And yup, each self employed German gets 9000

Yeah, key word is self employed... not everyone who filed a tax return

Dude...your poverty makes me sick

There is a lot of poverty because around 13-14% of the U.S is black. Just like we have black ghettos, you have no go zones full of ninja and kebab. There's poverty in every country.

That said, our border is closed. While your ******** is still flooded from Mexico.

Took long enough... but it's just a matter of time before Merkel reopens it and welcomes more turd worlders in. They're already queing up in Turkey and Greece waiting to get to Germany so they can get their free house, food, medical care, and cash.

And comparing turd worlders from muslim and african countries to mexicans simply isn't a fair assessment. The reason why is because 1) mexicans aren't trying to change US culture to make it fit them 2) they're overwhelmingly christian and tend to assimilate pretty well especially compared to muslims 3) imo most importantly - they work hard asf and take all the jobs americans don't want meanwhile the germanistan government considers 75% unemployment among rapefugees to be a "success" 4) Mexicans don't blow themselves up, drive into crowds, cause tons of gang rapes literally everyday, or demand sharia courts and mosques on every block - even the mexican criminals here are far, far less violent and erratic than the black ones. that's why even in prisons whites and mexicans unite against blacks

Nope, its Just regular trash bags where they cut holes in.

Look closer and you will see the sleeves and pockets Mister Weimarer.

Your infection rate skyrockets

That's because the Great United States of America has four times the population Germany does yet Germany has twice as many people infected proportionately.

Who knows the actual statistic from Germany as they claim to have a feet of fighter jets yet when the truth came out only four of them are operational.

First cases even now on their aircraft carriers.

We can't compare that with Germany because Germany has no aircraft carriers.
You have "tried" to build five of them since 1945 but have yet to complete one because of lack of money or lack of brains.
After debating you I would suspect the later.
