Coronavirus in Poland

Because it is pointless

Even then.... masks come from a time when it was assumed covid was spread by droplets - now the consensus is that it's spread by aerosol (normal breathing) and most masks don't really... work for that.

By all means wear one if you want, just don't assume everyone else should.

Why is it sensible to not wear a mask in public?

Because a tiny flu virus doesn't listen to "experts" and it doesn't know that it should be stopped by a dust mask and instead it gets through those holes in the fabric.

It also doesn't know that it should be stopped by mighty "vaccines" and it infected the masses in the most vaccinated country in the world: Israel.

And just in spite of "expert" opinion, the virus didn't even touch @Spike31, who refused to wear a face rug during the lockdown and never got "vaccinated"

All you do is bringing up strawman arguments and points that have long been refuted.

"Dust masks" are not effective in preventing infections which is why hardly anyone is using them. In Germany you are required to wear "medical masks" and I assume it is the same in other countries as well. Those masks significantly reduce the risk of infection if everyone is wearing them. The same goes for vaccines. Neither measure is 100% sufficient and not even combined, but they reduce the risk of infection, hospitalization and death to such a degree that Covid would cease being a serious problem if everybody would use them.

This is a bit like airbags and seat belts in cars. You can still die in car accidents, yet no sane person would say "I might as well deactivate my airbags and not use my seat belt since I could still die if I use them".

Israel shows us how crucial a booster shot will be for us after roughly half a year.

I will be wearing my N95 everywhere in public.

But most sensible people won't be.

Because it is pointless unless you are in a crowded or enclosed space.

Isn't that what I originally posted ?
HA, the key word here, "unless" that you left out of your original post.
So you are now stuttering claiming that you are not sensible ?

and instead it gets through those holes in the fabric.

I agree Spike but they look so cool and I don't want to blemish my image.

The difference is that seatbelts and air bags are actually proven to prevent death and injury from car accidents, masks and covid vaccines? not so much... just look at places like israel and signapore where 80%+ of the population is vaxxed yet they're having outbreaks...

Proving the vaccination is working. :-/
Published: September 15, 2021 from the Irish Times
About half of all Covid-19 patients in hospital and in intensive care are fully vaccinated against the disease, new figures show.
At the end of August, 54 per cent of Covid patients were fully vaccinated.
Some 44 per cent were not fully vaccinated.
Some 72 per cent of all patients in ICU since late June had an underlying condition.

Your health....your problem! It really is...but I don't want to get infected, I wear the mask.....totally sensible! :)

Better safe than sorry! Till now it worked.....

I'd been suspecting something like this for a while now, and now someone is bringing it up....

If you want to know what's going on.... do not pay any attention to mainstream media or government figures they are all wrong/lying. Pay attention to the numbers the data will shape itself if you let it (as we used to say in my field).

Not another conspiracy-believer...

But you are agree that the Earth is round or is that also to "mainstream" for you? Just asking...

Man, you really think you are smarter than the rest, all those "dumb sheeps", do you...

I'm afraid he is...... I really thought he was brighter than that.
But obviously not.
Why do so many Americans believe these ridiculous conspiracy theories?

Not another conspiracy-believer...

How do you explain the high correlation between high vaccination levels and large outbreaks (larger than last year at the same time)?

I'll wait....
Bratwurst Boy 12 | 11,343

How do you explain

"....What is already known about this topic?

Variants of SARS-CoV-2 continue to emerge. The B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant is highly transmissible.

What is added by this report?

In July 2021, following multiple large public events in a Barnstable County, Massachusetts, town, 469 COVID-19 cases were identified among Massachusetts residents who had traveled to the town during July 3-17; 346 (74%) occurred in fully vaccinated persons. Testing identified the Delta variant in 90% of specimens from 133 patients. Cycle threshold values were similar among specimens from patients who were fully vaccinated and those who were not.

What are the implications for public health practice?

Jurisdictions might consider expanded prevention strategies, including universal masking in indoor public settings, particularly for large public gatherings that include travelers from many areas with differing levels of SARS-CoV-2 transmission...."

In short....the virus is constantly mutating....current vaccinations can only react to the mutations, there is till now no preventive drug available....

That's why I today still trust a mask more than any available's not really rocket science!

But your conclusion is "mainstream" is lying to you?
mafketis 29 | 9,974
16 Sep 2021 #7,515
How is yours not? They're still saying the answer to the correlation between increased vaccination and increased cases is.... more vaccination? How is that sane?
Bratwurst Boy 12 | 11,343
16 Sep 2021 #7,516
It helps with the development....there are stats that show that even infected vaccinated people suffer rarely a heavy sickness, higher survival quotas, less cases of "long-Covid", no ventilators needed etc.

But the best answer is to keep to your mask, no matter if a "Freedom Day" is proclaimed.....the best guard for your health is still to not get that virus into your body in the first place.

But for many that is not desirable or not achievable or what not. Those people will get infected sooner or later...even several times with different mutations and in those cases a vaccination might make a difference if and how they come out of it...

Their decision!

My dad had covid. He was going in for hip surgery and they tested him - he tests positive covid. He didn't even know, had absolutely no symptoms, nothing. And this is a late 50's male, heavy lifelong smoker who should've had his lungs ravaged and ended up in the hospital hooked up to a vent. Well absolutely nothing happened. If anything, he looked healthier and more bright eyed and rested than normal. He laid in bed for a week "isolating" because the doctors and "covid authorities" forced him to and he couldn't even leave the house attend to his business despite being totally healthy - not even a single sniffle, cough, or anything!

I visited him to keep him company and didn't even wear a mask. Almost everyday we'd watch movies, play chess, etc. And of course nothing happened....

It's all total BS. There is no novel "covid" that's killing millions. It's the same general garden variety flus and viruses that people constantly get. Everyone forget thats there was a massive flu outbreak back in 2018 where apparently over 100k people died in the US alone - millions around the world. Did we shut down the country, force people to vaxx, restrict and monitor movements of people? Of course not. Yet now they do it for covid. It's nothing more than an excuse to wipe out billions from the middle class and establish a technocratic control grid with endlexx vaxxes and boosters and digital passports to prove compliance.... resist and you become an unvaxxed underclass...

Now Illinois is apparently going through another wave and cases are rising.... despite renewed mask mandates and all these people taking weird gene therapies that permanently alter their dna with totally unknown long term side effects.. yeah, real useful "vaccine"... it works so well that the more people that get vaxxed the more covid cases go up LOL

well idgaf... i will never get the vaxx!!!

In time Covid will become just another will stay with us and health conscious people will get their yearly shot against it....we will know much more about it then, even will have efficient long time working vaccines and preventive medicine. It will become a normal part of our lives, it is here to stay.

Right now it still isn't. Because of the reactive nature of our early, quick vaccines and the still lacking knowledge more infected people are dying as from a common flu...

In the beginning the fear was great that our health organizations are getting overwhelmed with this global pandemic...thats why they locked down our lives and everything.

Once the real working weapon against that virus, which preferably works preventive also against future mutations, is developed and available I will get it....till then I wait it out, its only a matter of time!

It's nothing more than an excuse to wipe out billions from the middle class and establish a technocratic control

....sure, and the Earth is flat! Damned lying mainstream!!!

Airbags in cars don't bother me in my regular life. Wearing a useless piece of fabric on my face that impair my breathing just to show my submission to the ridiculous rules imposed by the, excuse my language, "experts" does.

Taking experimental jabs with possible side effects on my health also bothers me. But what bothers me the most is that the authorities do a lot to make the lives of those who didn't submit to free medical trials for private companies such as Pfizer or J&J much harder.

The UK, fortunately, is on the sane side but I still took a TFL to court over the mandatory masks policy. I'm willing to sacrifice some of my time for the greater good. They need to be challenged and they need to know that people are against it.

Thank you for your kind words, @BratwurstBoy

There's one thing you, Germans, don't understand about freedom. Freedom is not just given, it's not written in stone. It needs to be guarded and exercised by the individuals on a constant basis.

Once you stop exercising your freedom and stop pushing its boundaries it will automatically start shrinking filled with countless rules and regulations that limit your life and constrict your freedoms.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Benjamin Franklin

What do you want? I leave you your freedom and liberty to get infected!

As long as it isn't me....that's my freedom and liberty....from the virus, thank you very much!

You wouldn't be so pissed if you wouldn't begrudge me my mask and my safety measures....that's why you mock us and even use the holy words to feel better....I just wonder why that is....

Leave me alone and healthy and we all get what we the virus, I my health....freedom and liberty all around! :)

PS: Of course, should tomorrow be reported that all was only a huge hoax, with undeniable proof that there never was a real virus called SARS-Covid19....and all was only made up to cowering the masses in following the secret jewish world government and install their total rulership over us...well...then I will apologize here on PF for my anti-freedom stupidity and burn all my masks immediately! (And even make a video of it)

But till then....better safe than sorry....and I grew up in the need for freedom and liberty doesn't hang on a mask!

Oh...and btw....we GDR-Germans liberated ourselves a few decades back, we destroyed an opressive dictatorship....what did you recently do for freedom and liberty?

The virus stripped naked the Western "democracies" and showed what they really are: soft tyrannies. The tools are not executions and gulags but denying access to the things people must have to make life worth living.

A simple test. If the entire country like Australia said, hell, no lockdowns! but the PM ordered one, who wins, BB?
Bratwurst Boy 12 | 11,343
17 Sep 2021 #7,524
I don't care for lockdowns, I don't care for mandatory masks or vaccinations...I personally would fight any mandatory vaccination at this point.

The government needs to make sure that all is freely available so that anyone who wants to guard himself, either through mask, vaccination or self quarantine/home office, can do so.

How and if he does should be a personal decision....."my body blah blah".

But I don't need to be called stupid, meek, anti-freedom or obedient (or all of it together) only because I value and want to keep my health and use the mask as current weapon of my choice.

Reuters writes that the vaccines don't work....

"More than 80% of Britons over 16 are now fully vaccinated. But Britain is in far worse shape than it was at this time last year, when no one was vaccinated. It is now averaging about 140 deaths a day, roughly 10 times as many as mid-September 2020"

In other words instead of the vaxxed being firewalls stopping spread.... they are....... what?
Bratwurst Boy 12 | 11,343
17 Sep 2021 #7,527
.....or they just gave up on security measures...."freedom day" and all that...

I always thought that a stupid idea....vaccinated people can of course become infected, spreading and infect others, and with the mutations coming it is a really naive thing now to party for "freedom", with a crowd of other un-masked...maybe-vaccinated's just crying for an infection!
Paulina 12 | 2,042

Covid is just the common cold.

No, it isn't.

But Britain is in far worse shape than it was at this time last year

Delta variant.

In other words instead of the vaxxed being firewalls stopping spread.... they are....... what?

Life savers? Also - saving people from becoming life invalids? The vaccine protection against the Delta variant is lower than against previous variants, but still lowers the risk of death and of being hospitalised.

Day 44 (or 34*) of the fourth wave...

percent of positive test results: 1.81 % of 35,959 tests...

hospitalization: +38 = 911 (666 and now 911.... how many more ominous numbers are waiting?)

percentage of positive tests to hospital admissions:

seven day moving average : 7.8 % (+ 1.5)

day 44: 5,8 %
day 43: 8.0 %
day 42: 5.3 %
day 41: 14.5 %
day 40: 10.8 %
day 39: 1.9 %
day 38: 8.1 %
day 37: 0.6 %

intensive care: +6 to 101

deaths: 8 (6 with comorbidities)

from the previous day**: seven day moving average of daily deaths : 8 (+2)

Currently infected (how ever they happen to calculate that....) some bogus number over 161,000.... (which kind of throws a lot of the other numbers into doubt as well...)

*the minister of health first announced the fourth wave for the second half of august but jumped the gun 10 days earlier saying it had already begun)

**the source I use is a day behind and I'm too lazy to calculate on my own
