across the Atlantic where people are still going to restaurants and bars.

Either you're sadly misinformed or pushing fake news again. Where are the all open bars and restaurants located at, Jon???

Bitter, aren't you.

Some have only just closed today!

Yeah, but if you wanted to get an extra hour of sleep, you'd blame PiS for the sun rising. :)

No, I wouldn`t, they are not so omnipotent. :):) They are just little gangsters who got power through dirty tricks. Today, they are like kids lost in the forest.

Some have only just closed today!

I just found out from my friend that lives in London, all the bars and restaurants are still open and the schools dont close until Monday!

How come to failed to mention this when you reported about America? Total Hypocrite!!

Sooner or later there will be a Covid-19 related shooting.

Hopefully it won't be in Poland or America.

A semi-automatic knife spraying stabs into a crowd

I thought they used Sarin gas and bombs in London for their mass killings.
This is one thread you should not troll on with your hypocritical bitterness towards Americans jon.
Please try to show some respect and stay on topic.

Where? Nobody knows. There is total chaos and the government is to blame for it.

Here is a good report concerning chaos I was talking about. Everything is closed and non-virus patients are left alone. Thank you, PiS for making proper preparations for the situation.

Sorry pawian, I don't read Polish.

Thank you, PiS for making proper preparations for the situation.

Like always, it will be the churches that step up to feed and care for it's people.
The government is always the last one to help...... after the fact.
I personally am starting to believe this whole dog and pony show is one big hoax to strip us of even more of our freedoms.

I am beginning to think the same. The number of dead for all other causes just don't compare.
Even if the motives are not devious, as they say, never let a crisis go to waste.

@johnny reb

one big hoax

The US has suffered over 22,000 deaths according to the CDC... Not from coronavirus but from Seasonal Flu. If you ratio based only on population that would imply around 1200 deaths in Poland. And what special steps did we take to combat the flu? (Crickets chirping)

We live in a culture where demagoguery pays well.
Saying "every life is precious" gets you a standing ovation. Asking "how much precious?" ends your political career.

I wonder about the low german death rate?

Someone in the media said that it's because Germany is testing more people with mild symptoms. In some countries (London is at 4%) they're only testing people with more serious symptoms and this affects the statistics.

As I recall, the German government said something about this today or yesterday.

No, it just shows the how the Germans have a superior gene pool for another generation or two.

....one can only hope our health care system won't get overwhelmed with cases as Italy's did...that we never have to leave people to die because we don't have the beds to treat them.

That's actually all what these quarantine actions are about....at the end most of us will have contracted the virus but if we can slow the spreading as far as possible the more people will survive it in the end!

No, guys, the explanation is different: the virus is deadly to elderly people - Italy has a lot of them - the second-oldest population in the world.

because we don't have the beds to treat them.

How many of the fourteen cruise line ships that Italy has were used for off shore quarantine ?

ON A MUCH BRIGHTER NOTE !
Trump has just announced a possible Malaria Drug to treat the virus has been approved by the FDA.

Well I think another issue is that it is very localized there - 50 percent in one province and that overwhelmed the local health service. Apparently high rates of smoking in Italy doesn't help.

Hope it will be better here - I think Britain and the Us could get bad in next few weeks.

At the moment the high tax economies of Northern Europe plus Japan and Korea seem to have the lowest death rates.

A Polish report from France which is undergoing a disastrous outbreak of infections. The situation is tragic and the author warns Poland might experience the same horror in 2,3 weeks. She doesn`t know it is already happening here.

Facts:
- no tests, even for doctors
-no masks or gloves, even for doctors
-crowded understaffed hospitals
-not diagnosed patients
-teachers refuse to look after "plague-stricken" kids of medical staff

@Paulwiz

Its idiotic to compare Flu with Corona. Corona is in its starting phase and has a 10 ti,es higher mortality, if Corona rises like the flu, we talk about 3.5 million dead in Germany. 2.6 million dead in Poland,

Wgat is striking in your picture is a high percentage of critical beds in Romania.

Because in Germany there is work, order and discipline.

Well...I'm not so sure....

There is another possible explanation....Germany has been a few weeks behind Italy with the start of this pandemia, and the virus needs two to four weeks to kill...so we might get soon a staggering rise in death cases. :(

Well...I'm not so sure....

You mean, the construction of the Berlin-Brandenburg airport is a never-ending story? :-)

355 confirmed cases of the virus in Poland at 19:00 hours.

You mean, the construction of the Berlin-Brandenburg airport is a never-ending story? :-)

Yeah....and right now they plan in Berlin to pull up a brand new hospital with at least 1000 care beds because of Corona! If that takes only half as long as the airport we are all busted....;)

(But it is said it will be already done in 3 weeks from now on...I believe it when I see it)

Italy

The biggest bs in the history of medical statistics.

Death rate is percentage of the population that has or had the virus that eventually died,. This requires the number of ALL who have or had it, not just those that were tested. Duh!

If that is too complicated, here is an example. The first virus case walks in and is tested to be positive. Next day he dies. What's the mortality rate? 100%. Conclusion: we all are going to die. A-holes.

Just in.....scientists from Flandern found anti-bodies which could neutralize Covid-19 in...tadaaa....llamas! Believe it or not! :)
Such an anti-body could be the key for a cure!

That'd be remarkable. If they do it, let's hope it stays upright.
