Coronavirus in Poland

Polish borders were closed at midnight. A drastic measure, but necessary considering the fact that 100 thousand Poles from Germany alone planned to visit home for Easter (and probably a similar number from UK/Ireland).

There is one stupid problem: once you cross the sanitary control, you have 14 days mandatory quarantine, right? But... you're free to take public transport to get to your end destination.

Otherwise, drastic, but needed. What's going on in some countries (hello, UK) is diabolical.

What's the alternative? Tell them to walk? Use taxis?

Police/military doesn't have means to transport all such people to their homes. Infeasible.

Yes. They need to cancel Easter travel this year
That of course is an option for Poland (and other countries) to take.

i think Poland needs to quarantine affected suburbs and towns in the future when needed with the Army

Making more respirators is a big priority; I gather the UK (who are expected to announce the next stage of measures later today or early tomorrow) are instructing companies with the capacity to do so to start this. Presumably other countries are following suit.

Buy stock in those companies immediately.
I bought Stock (LAKE) last month when the Chinavirus became a hot item.
Its key products include disposable protective clothing, chemical protective suits.
It has gone from $12 a share to $17 a share in less than a month now.
When life is all lemons make lemonade.

We can soon expect formation of global Empire and ghettos with leprosy populace.

Probably not.

A lot of people are buying gold right now.

I think the UK is following the four stage strategy....

More Monty Python than Yes Minister right now.

Seriously, they're very worried about public order. The 2011 riots started spontaneously and they don't want to have to deal with a repeat, especially right now.

people are buying gold right now.

Bit too late for that now , people should always have a good financial spread which should have included some gold for situations like this.

Anyone from a farming background knows this well!

BTW, Dolno, have you ever lived in Yorkshire?

farming background knows this well!

Many have a little something stashed for times like this, to this day jewellery and gold is being dug up where i live, it was stashed by the Germans who were deported from their land and during WWII, This virus is just another challenge to overcome, the better prepared will have a greater chance of surviving this challenge. A link off a gold necklace will always get you a few spuds to eat.

I think the UK is following the four stage strategy....

The UK is following a very reasonable strategy of not panicking over bull...demia.

While other countries shut down their economies over a new flu virus, Brits are just behaving as Brits: that is normal.

Much the same where I am.

Looks like further restrictions are due to be announced both in Poland and in the UK. Sensible in this crisis.

It was something you said ages ago; made me wonder if you were someone I'd met, who came to a party once at our house. Worked as a computer contractor there ages ago, lived somewhere commutable though a bit more rural.

Leprosy? Are you serious Crow?? A global Empire! OH NO! Thanks for informing us about this important information and your brilliance! What would we do without your intellectual knowledge?

A lot of people are buying gold right now.

Not a good move in my humble opinion as gold prices have dropped almost $200 an ounce in the last week ($1680 down to $1500) and it is still tanking.

A gun and some ammo may be a better investment right now to fend off people when they start getting desperate.

I think you may be right Crow.
A lot of people living paycheck to mouth will be going bankrupt over this and will have a very hard time recovering.
When they can't pay rent.... off to the ghettos they will be forced to go with sub living standards that they were once use to.

American households are already $17 trillion in debt.
There will be the Empire rich and the welfare poor.
Good point Crow.

CureVac thriller confirmed:

"...On its website, CureVac said CEO Daniel Menichella early this month met Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and senior representatives of pharmaceutical and biotech companies to discuss a vaccine....."

cnbc.com/2020/03/15/coronavirus-germany-tries-to-stop-us-luring-away-firm-seeking-vaccine.html

And it get's better:

"...Daniel Menichella started the month as CureVac CEO, one of the privileged few to discuss the coronavirus response with U.S. President Donald Trump and kick-starting a vaccine trial against COVID-19.

Then, suddenly and with no explanation, Menichella is no longer chief executive of the Germany- and Boston-based mRNA biotech and has been immediately replaced by the man he, in fact, replaced: founder Ingmar Hoerr...."

In your opinion PFrs would it be ethical to test the vaccine on prison inmates that have been convictted of serious violent offences? to speed up saving the rest of the population?
Bratwurst Boy 6 | 10,363
15 Mar 2020 #470
Not forced, definitely no!

But maybe given the option to shorten their prison sentence (for non capital offenders) for taking the risk....as in giving something back to the society...

my question is will they let Polish residents back in, ie expats who reside in Poland but went out shopping to Germany?.

Yes. Prime minister Morawiecki said so on TV yesterday.

Why is Crow exempt from PF rules????????

There is no rule saying that people whose posts a certain Joker doesn't like will get a warning on PF.

Yes. Prime minister Morawiecki said so on TV yesterday.

And then you'll have to sit at home for 14 days.

Belgium

Belgium is a fake country and should have never come into existence, tbh.

Switzerland (which is another fake country but with a longer tradition) also isn't doing well. And people usually believe it is so well organized and managed.

I went through it on the train last month (at least that's what the timetable said). I looked out of the window and nothing, nothing at all.
