Coronavirus in Poland

The good thing now is that now there's a vaccine there should also be concreate plan of both vaccination and removing of restrictions. In the short term it will be interesting to see how long the flight ban will last and when it ends how long mandatory quarantining will continue beyond this. Hopefully if they both get extended then it's not by more than a few weeks.

My hunch is that once the vaccine gets given to those in hospitals and care homes, which if effectively managed should be complete by early spring at the absolute latest, then extreme measures like lockdowns will come to an end. Perhaps masks and social distancing may have to continue. maybe late Spring, until the most vulnerable have also had it. However by the time it gets as far as those who want it but aren't particularly at risk life has to be more or less completely back to normal.

Nothing depend on vaccine but on desired effects of psycho-logistic re-programming.

Covid vaccine could be (could be) sugar water with miraculous potentials. Considering all political aspects of Covid, truly, could be.

COVID making getting into and out of EU difficult. Just had 5 employees held up at the border and all documents thoroughly examined before being readmitted. The lockdown tomorrow has made it difficult even with the correct documents.

Here is the information on the vaccination schedule for Poland:

The first vaccinations against COVID-19 are planned in Poland on December 27.
The approval of the COVID-19 vaccine is subject to approval by the European Commission (of the European Union).

This means that the vaccination registration process is likely to start in the first quarter of 2021.

Vaccines will be free.

Vaccinations will be voluntary.

The order of vaccinations:

PHASE 0:
Healthcare workers.

PHASE 1:
Residents of social welfare homes and care and treatment facilities.
Seniors 60+, starting with the oldest people (with priority for those who are professionally active and for people with comorbidities).

Police and fire brigade officers, soldiers.

Employees of the education sector.

PHASE 2:
People under 60 years of age with chronic conditions that increase the risk of severe COVID-19.
Key professional groups: employees of the critical infrastructure sectors, public transport, officials directly involved in combating the epidemic (e.g. employees of epidemiological and sanitary stations).

PHASE 3:

Entrepreneurs and employees in business sectors closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

People over 18 who do not belong to any of the above groups.

In accordance with the above phases, also foreigners (persons with the right to permanent or temporary residence) will be vaccinated.

Privileges for the vaccinated person:

Information on vaccination will be stored in a special system and will allow for vaccination verification (including a QR code that will allow you to quickly confirm the vaccination).

Vaccinated people will be able to use public health services without additional testing.
Vaccinated people will not count towards the limits on social events.
Vaccinated people will not have to be quarantined if they come into contact with someone infected with the coronavirus.
The government will consider the possibility of introducing further solutions exempting the vaccinated persons from selected restrictions.

Poland has purchased the vaccines under the European Union agreement to establish a common mechanism for the advance purchase of vaccines. The size of orders is proportional to the number of inhabitants. The delivery schedule is the same for all countries (adequate to the size). Poland decided to join five agreements: Astra Zeneca, Janssen Pharmaceutica NV/Johnson&Johnson, Pfizer/BioNTech, CureVac, Moderna.

The total number of doses purchased: 62.06 million. As the vaccine requires two doses, that's enough to vaccinate around three quarters of the population.

I didn't see where the inmates in Correction Facilities that are locked in confined areas were mentioned.
They are humans that are 'forced' into no social distancing.

They should never count those who were older than the life span. And, like you said, only the healthy.
Even counting the way they do now, these death numbers are ridiculously low per population. Poland - .07%, US - .1%, Peru - .1% At .1%, it is not a pandemic.

I included Peru - a s**thole compared to Poland and the US - to show that all those ventilators and super expensive healthcare are worth nothing in the war with the virus.

It's all in the immune system. The problem is that every drunk, every smoker, every drug addict, every fatso thinks they are made of stainless steel and will live forever.

BTW, life span in Poland - 78, US - 78, Peru - 76. No difference.

Even if you count all the seniors, all the people with severe health problems, etc. there's still a less than 1% mortality rate for people who catch covid. It's a scam that's all it is. It's an excuse to completely transform industrialized societies and economies. I don't even want to know how much cash was printed this year.

My bigger problem is that the "society" - which means mindless morons - happily submits and hops along. When I ask random people why they wear a mask outside, it's always "to feel safe". One day, we will have a picture of one of them in Webster under Moron.

If that was just them wearing their masks in their cars and in some park or whatever I'd say fine whatever it's your decision, your business. What's worse is when they freak out when someone that's like 10 feet away from them and in an outdoor space isn't wearing a mask.

Not in Poland - the rate of deaths over official cases is much more alarming. Somewhere around 4 percent in this second wave. Of course neither figure is robaboy correct but it's all we have to go on.

Yeah Poland got hit exceptionally hard in terms of % of the population. 1.2 million means that basically one out of 33 people had/has it. But the death rate is about the same - out of 1.2 million people 27,000 died which is about 2%, around the same 1-2% range as the US 333k dead out of 19.2 mil cases

and thanks for that. we're kind of scrambling now trying to figure out how to plan the funeral because its not just me who wants to come but also family from UK which means well all likely have to quarantine which means funeral will likely have to be in 1-2 weeks, but we have to also figure out what to do with the body in th emeantime

IINM the law is that holders of Polish passports have to use them when entering or leaving the country... enforcement is probably not super strict though....

Yes,and they have gone very strict now.If you dont have it Polish embassy can issue you an emergency one.I know someone who was fined 400pln while coming in on US passport and that was 2/3 years back,but she was living in Poland.They always ask my wife for both passports when she leaves Poland and never stamp Polish passports too.
