he countries that had a rough March-April have very few fatalities

Total rubbish, the daily deaths in U.K and Spain are slightly higher than Polska

Well it's difficult for the government now. A lockdown with no financial support like last time would be absolutely catastrophic and finish off many businesses. They don't have money for a support package and their financial position is much worse than it was in the spring.

I would kind of prefer a two week full lockdown but I don't think either that or the incremental measures are really going to solve the problem. My take on it is just prepare as much as we can to get the virus - exercise , eat well, get plenty of sleep and keep the old people somewhere safe.

but nothing like the rates in March-April...

And in general the fatality rate is a lot lower now... (I've seen a figure that only a third as many hospitalized cases end up dying as in March-April).

Studies show that you can get it again, so I'm not sure what use it is to know if you've already had it.

The chances for getting it again is only 2 % BTW

And it looks more and more likely that this is a growing problem.

They are not that accurate so why waste your time and money.
The tests are better at detecting Covid two or more weeks after the onset of symptoms.

Preparing hospitals? Under funded medical system? Under paid medical professionals? Incompetent leadership? Yes, this is PIS. Maybe TVP needs a few billion more in funding?

The propaganda will intensify until everyone (or enough people to win an election) believe!

You are right. Time for a rethink and some acceptance of that - focus has to be on getting the system ready to handle it and getting people in shape to fight it off. Masks might help reduce the viral load and It seems some of the therapies are working a bit.

But that first lockdown was all for nothing - all those cancelled weddings and football, all those fights with our wives, the zoom and the aerobics, all those lost jobs and the biggest budget deficit in Poland history only gave us six weeks of peace. It's hard to take so if we lock down again now then it must be with the intention of making the hospitals more able to cope.

But that first lockdown was all for nothing -

Wrong, we learned a great deal from it plus it saved lives in Poland.
Understand cms that here in Michigan where I live, we had one county alone, with more deaths than the whole country of Poland has had so feel blessed.

In Poland the government is preparing to open field hospitals but it is not sure where it will find the doctors and nurses to staff them.

Now that is Poland's dilemma.
I also read that Duda met Friday with Iga Swiatek, the 19-year-old Polish tennis player who won the French Open earlier this month.
If she contracted it from Duda most likely as healthy as she is she may not even know she has it without being tested.
What an exciting time to be alive. :-(

Pretty much everywhere.... as I keep saying lockdowns don't stop the spread of the virus they only delay it.... there's no reason whatsoever that any lockdown will be utilized by any government in any kind of wiser way than has been the case so far...

PIS care more about its policy than its people. Pretty evident in their actions. All summer, the USA has been preparing for a second wave. Everyone knew it was coming. The virus never stopped. The weather changed and it allowed it to accelerate. People got complacent and that allowed it to accelerate as well. But all this was predictable. Virus fatigue has now set in. So now, we have probably five months of restrictions coming. Excellent leadership.

Exactly, but they fear the worst - not enough ventillators for the worst cases.

PIS care more about its policy than its people.

That is a typical rightist approach. Kill them all and let God sort them out.

BFD they'll just **** away any benefit that a second lockdown brings (while nothing _nothing_ to help small businesses). Let it spread and let's get it over with!

Sure, just like the flu most people will get it sooner or later. I don't get sick, never catch flu or cold, and I socialized with many people for the last 7 months, visited pubs and even underground raves in London with few hundred other people (regular raves are banned) so I most likely had a famous "asymptomatic covid". I not going to put my life on hold only because a panicking mob wants me too.

I've never put a dust mask on even once since the beginning of the "deadly pandemic" and I'm still alive and healthy. And of all of my friends, only one girl got sick and spend a week in bed, now she's fine.

PS: For comic relief, I'll share with you this official infographic from The Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Have a good one. and let the mask be with you!

For those who are still not getting it.

google Klaus Schwab (founder of the World Economic Forum)

google "the great reset" (name of a book recently published by Schwab

a quote from the book: "Nothing will ever return to the "broken" sense of normalcy that prevailed prior to the crisis ... the world as we knew it in the early months of 2020 is no more, dissolved in the context of the pandemic."

weforum.org/focus/the-great-reset

They (the .001 percent) are not hiding this at all, they've been telling us for years what they want to do and now they're seizing the opportunity to do so.

But aren't the changes this Schwab guy is referring too arguably beneficial ? Reinforcing community, helping strangers, changing the way capital operates and taxing wealth.

It's only a short piece but I didn't see it calling for robots and eugenics ?

When did the 1 percent become 0.01 percent ? Did some of these middle class kids do their math and work out that globally they are in the top 60m ?

Aren't you in the hospitality industry (broadly defined)? How much help has it gotten from the government? Schwab wants you out of business.

How is the travel industry going to recover (short answer: Schwab and those like him _hate_ that ordinary people could vacation hundreds of kilometers from their homes).

I'm in education and the process and results of online education are very dire.... it doesn't work (biggest problem is that most don't remember things that they learn from a screen). That's to say nothing of the other purposes that schools serve

Of course they use innocuous sounding slogans but behind it is the lifestyle of a medieval peasant (with screens instead of cathedrals and better toilets).

That's not the life I want, is it what you want?
cms neuf 1 | 1,852
25 Oct 2020 #3,508
Oh in that point we are in the same page - I'm happy that everyone is able to travel more these days and I think it's been extremely beneficial for Poland that ordinary Poles are able to see more of the world on their holidays.

I don't know how long it will take to recover after Covid - 5 or 6 years for sure but the demand won't go away

I believe the idea suspected by some, is to crash the global economy and then reset it with debt forgiveness, a gradual seizure of privately owned assets and a redistribution of wealth in the form of a universal basic income, basically Communism under another name. For example, if you have a mortgage it would be struck out and you would continue to live in your house but you wouldn't own it any more. It would belong to the state. Your bank account would be frozen and your money taken but you would get a basic payment to live on and I think there is some possibility for earning an additional amount by work, but probably only if you have skills that are needed and that work would probably be assigned to you rather than chosen by you.

behind it is the lifestyle of a medieval peasant

Absolutely spot on Maf.

I don't think this will happen as quickly as people imagine, but it's heading there. I've always believed that the collapse of Communism was a bit staged. The Berlin Wall was allowed to fall for a reason, quite possibly with the agreement of the major world powers. As for the virus, I originally thought it was a bio weapon of some kind that China made for their own use, to use on their own people, but that it escaped accidentally. Now, I think it was probably released intentionally but by whom, I don't know. It may have been bought from the Chinese and used by whoever. It's interesting how it picks off the old and the sick, leaving children virtually untouched.

I don't think the worlds' governments are in a giant conspiracy to enslave us all. That seems a bit too far-fetched but I do think there is a small number of movers and shakers behind this and that there is more to it all than meets the eye. Time will tell.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said on Sunday he had tested positive for coronavirus after taking two tests.

It's interesting how it picks off the old and the sick, leaving children virtually untouched.

a bit too far-fetched

Not at all as it is spot on.
Putting that into perspective..........Independence Criminalized.
The old money being past (unearned income) down to their children to spend foolishly
No more payouts by the government for them for healthcare or social security.
Frees up hospital beds and the health care system
De-populates the earth for less carbon emissions
Face it, what are us old people good for besides our wisdom.
Besides that we are just a burden to society.
Bill Gates has openly admitted that.
So who are the Bilderberg's ????
