In this case I think it does. The whole thing started with a self described race realist singling him out for attention where the truth of his academic record was irrelevant. Of course all the citizen journalists or whatever bollox these busybodies call themselves piled on and were amplified by published media creating a vicious circle of sh1t.
He had no chance to defend himself and why TF should he respond to every crank known to man. I don't know how stable he was or anything else about him other than statements put out by his employers. None of them have confirmed any of the allegations against him. This is one of the minor reasons I have to avoided interacting with social media, I have many more major reasons for avoiding it.
