Funny how the British are demonstrating against democracy
I don't think they are demonstrating against democracy Dolno, I think more than anything people are demonstrating because the leave campaign was based on lies pure and simple. Within hours of Brexit, Farage was reneging on claims that the NHS would get 350 million, and MEP Daniel Hannan was saying that free movement of people would continue in order for the UK to trade with Europe.
Immigration was the key issue the leave campaign were using in their arsenal, and I think many leavers are now as angry as those who voted to remain, because they have been duped. If I had voted leave, I would be fuming.
If the leave campaign had been completely honest and said upfront that leaving the EU would most likely lead to little to no change in immigration, and that the money UK would be saving from EU fees would not be going into the NHS, do you really believe that the leave campaign would have won? I for one, don't.
They also glossed over the fact that the majority of EU immigrants to the UK come from outside the EU. Funny how they didn't really want to mention that little fact.
I was reading news coverage of today's London demonstrations, and saw many placards being held with slogans such as " No goodbyes based on lies ". This is why people are demonstrating.
Then of course, you have loudmouth Boris doing a runner like a rat deserting the sinking ship, and a frankly very scary bunch of muppets lined up to become the new PM.
