Berlin terrorist attack -- Poland's ethnic homogeneity a true blessing

Well that's not what the Germans tell me. Germans rarely move: their society is well structured so the place you were born will probably be the place you die - good job, safe, good schools, good for family. Or at least that is how it was

So when you consider in comparison how rare it is to find a born and still live Berliner - it is noteworthy. I know most Germans despise Berlin because its a financial drain on the nation and contains so many snot nosed artists and foreigners in general but it's a benefit to Germany IMO to have all the debauchery in one single city.

Currently the Muslims and gays/druggies got along in Berlin because it was mostly Turks and they also understood the score: Berlin is for debauchery. But now we will see how this new crop of far more religious Muslims reacts. I think they will try and take over the culture and will have problems.

Germans rarely move:

You said a minute ago that most Berliners weren't born there.

it's a benefit to Germany IMO to have all the debauchery in one single city.

You don't really know Germany very well, do you.

What about the Reeperbahn?

Yes. Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Muchnich and Düsseldorf do quite well on that score too.

Most of Berlin is quite boring in that respect. If people don't want to see ladies of the night, they don't have to go to that sort of bar.

The Reeperbahn is not only a red light district, it's also home of a ton of theaters, cabarets, clubs and pubs. Actually quite nice and not as creepy as the quarter around the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam for example.

Skt. Pauli though is another matter entirely. At least the last time I was there, but that was a decade or so agoLOL

Skt. Pauli

I found it slightly sleazy, albeit in an ok way. The Reeperbahn had a lot of tourists on the main drag and sports or other bars full of Middle-aged elderly Germans enjoying themselves and dancing to Schlager music.

There was a fair ethnic mix in both areas, especially St. Pauli, and no noticeable tensions.

The 'alternative' scene, sort of like Kreuzberg is now at Rote Flora and around, more or less on the same side of town as the Reeperbahn though not close to it. Plenty of people sitting in the park, smoking pot and listening to music. Also a reasonable mix of ethnicities. Something like that wouldn't really happen in Poland. Not so much because of homogeneity, more because it would end up being too organised and have a forced or commercial feel.

The closest in Warsaw were those bars in a squat in Powisle about a decade or so ago. That was nevertheless a bit too organised.

Unfair comment of mine, TheOther. It was my first time in Germany and I was soaking up as much local color as I could. Everything seemed new and exciting:-)

Unfair comment of mine

Why? Back in the day, St. Pauli had some really bad corners like the Hafenstrasse - home of extremely violent squatters, hooligans and anarchists that were feared even by the cops.

Hansa Viertel wasn't too nice either:-) Bordellos on almost every other street, shabby-looking types (both German as well as other) hanging around and looking menacing......

As far as terrorism is concerned, one needn't forget that the prime 9/11 terror cell was located in Hamburg, not Berlin:-)))

In addition, I'd like to return to the present thread title for a moment. As I'd posted earlier, being an ethnically homogeneous society is clearly no guaranty for peace, order, and tranquility! In similarly ethnically homogeneous societies such as Norway, Denmark, Holland or Sweden, are Neo-Nazis, Skinheads and the like "a true blessing" or more to the point, an actual curse which remains a blight upon the entire community?!!

The anticipated response to the above statement, that the latter are merely an understandable, even forgivable, response to mass immigration from predominantly Muslim nations, never voted on by the citizen, is never an excuse for the outcroppings of violence and cruelty, usually meted out upon the innocent who are punished for no other reason than that they happen to be the in wrong place at the wrong time.

Those places you guys list I have not visited and feel they are not as open as Berlin. This is a city that I wandered from front to back. It is still my favorite city on the globe. Constantinople is enjoyable too. > I'm in SoCal

So to reflect,

The liberalism of our Western society makes these cities the pinnacle of civilization. But IMO we are in a cultural negative now. Too much giving instead of projecting. This is the pinnacle of human race and should be treated as such. We reached this point for a reason - be proud of it!

Unfortunately, the limits of unbridled liberalism have been sorely tested to the limit and it looks as though they might lose unless more people are able to contain the threat coming from ISIS!

There was another terrorist attack in Londonistan today. How many attacks has it been over there this year 5 or 6?

It appears Europe is becoming a very dangerous place to live and its seems just like another day in the life to the English.

Its so commonplace now, they just accept it.

Im glad we have Trump in the US. Say what you want about him, but he's keeping these refugees/terrorists out.

Poland made the smartest move as well! Keep saying NO to the Queen of the EU!

2 separate Islamists attacks in France today

"French police have one terror suspect in custody and are on a manhunt for another terror suspect after two separate attacks today.

In Paris, a knife-wielding man attacked police while shouting "Allah Akbar," while in Burgundy a hammer-wielding man attacked two women in a park while shouting ISIS slogans."

More attacks again?

Wow! Europe has become a real Muslim Hell Hole!

I guess, thats what the fruits of PCness yield!

I don't understand how the Europeans can just sit back and ignore this problem and hope its goes away, it`s not!

It doesn't show much backbone from the European men. Perhaps, they don't have one, too afraid of conflict, just let them take over your countries. Fools!

there has been an armed police in the capital for several years, and plenty of ARVs in action for a long time now. oh i forgot, you like to spout off about things you know nothing of.

You have this antiquated image of 'bobbies' and bowler hats and everyone talking like Rex Harrison don't you?

an ARV is an armed response vehicle btw.

I know enough to know that England's police force for years were famed for not carrying firearms:-) That this has changed, I feel is a good thing, if only that tradition too must keep up with the times.

@Lyzko
no 'beat' constables are not routinely armed but there are plenty of armed police and have been for years esp in London.
Why dont you inform yourself before wibbling nonsense?

I would hope so Lyzko.

I don't want to see the destruction of England and the rest of Europe for that matter, but they don't seem willing to confront the real problem.

I think certain things should be pointed out to this man.

And visa versa.

I guess, thats what the fruits of PCness yield!

Are you suggesting that being a racist and bigot (according to the Liberal Left's definition) could have saved those lives like it has in Politically InCorrect Poland.

So if being P.C. allowing Islam into Europe is the cause of taking innocent lives then we should outlaw Political Correctness to save lives.

Keep Poland Polish !

Your city?? I see. Do you own the city? Were you given some title to your city to which mere mortals such as myself aren't privy?

Do tell about your city. Even if New York is considered a sort of international, gateway city, I'd never refer to it as "my city"! Then again, that's only meLOL

I was simply making a statement based upon historical fact, that's all, and the fact is that for generations, British bobbies did NOT carry guns.

That this has changed, I understand. I just wasn't aware of exactly when. You explained that to me and for that I thank you.

Do you own the city?

obviously not. However i can still call it my city, if I choose to. You posted some ill informed nonsense as though it were fact with your usual cretinous 'LOL' and I put you straight. Guess that really upset you, judging from your reaction. 'LOL'

@johnny reb

Polska dla polakow dla przekretow I bydlakow

Speaking of Londonistan (term used by al Jazeera after sadiq khans victory), there's a book with that title as well.

Personally I don't mind Muslim people as I've worked and hung out with quite a few. Most of the ones I've met at work or through friends are okay and not very religious. What bugs me is how all these so called refugees, most of whom are male economic migrants, and create havoc in the streets, march with sharia 4 uk/Belgium/Germany while chanting (country) go to hell, along with the constant terror attacks. Thank goodness Poland doesn't have to deal with that. I don't think Poland would even habe all that much of a problem accepting a few thousand refugees, real refugees not economic migrants, from the middle east if we were able to conduct our own extremely thorough vetting
