>>>70% of US engineers are of german origin what are you talking about?<<<

Not in Silicon Valley, most are from India.

Educate yourself!

Silicon Valley is about programmers mostly, not engineers!

Only genetics determine if someone is European or not.

I wonder if he means german-looking. And if he considers Greeks and Turks European.

I live and work in Silicon valley and you?

Stick this on your browser educate yourself. There's far more happening here then just people writing programs.

Doesn't seem to help you to know the differences between computer technology/programming and engineering cars or machinery and others...sorry!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicon_Valley#The_rise_of_software

...
Although semiconductors are still a major component of the area's economy, Silicon Valley has been most famous in recent years for innovations in software and Internet services. Silicon Valley has significantly influenced computer operating systems, software, and user interfaces.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engineering

...
Engineering is the discipline, art, skill and profession of acquiring and applying scientific, mathematical, economic, social, and practical knowledge to design and build structures, machines, devices, systems, materials and processes that safely realize improvements to the lives of people.

You don't need to live in Silicon Valley for that... ;)

Engineering has a lot of branches and it is not without the reason programmers are called software engineers…
Bratwurst Boy 12 | 11,823

programmers are called software engineers...

....to differentiate them from the real engineers.... :)

Where?

Tell me about the famous engineers coming out of Silicon Valley who NOT had to do a thing with computers?

....to differentiate them from the real engineers.... :)

That I agree with! Engineering used to imply the knowledge of machinery, .. hardware. Software people are programmers. ;)

I think the poor guy lives in S. Philly or something. Majority of the US is little towns, suburbs.. not all that multicultural

Read the list of our war dead. It's also multicultural. 18 and 19 yr olds from all walks of life sacrificing themselves, so this scumbag can sit on his fat ass and disrespect their contribution to our society.

Guys this is the 21st century... not 1864. This is the new normal... any other thing else is abnormal. Get used to it. Get used to having blacks and and Asians living next door, if you dont... your country will be the new definition of 3rd world.

hahah. that gave me a good laugh. poland is modernizing very quickly. its far from a 3rd world country (at least in the cities).

70% of US engineers are of german origin what are you talking about?

One of my former colleagues (electronic engineer) recently moved to Germany (from Russia). A week or so ago he was back in Moscow for a few days to visit their parents. We got some beer and talked a bit...

Their first opinion after half year in a large German hi-tech company - there is about 5% is older German engineers, really smart and experienced ones, real "stars"... About 20% of remaining native German engineers is average-to-good, notning special. The rest cannot produce something new, good once you need to make DIN-standard paperwork or something similar, but no creativity at all.

As he said, it looks that 60% of new ideas and solutions come from 20% of immigrants working in their department. Serbs, Russians, Poles..

As to this topic - I was really shocked once I drive all the way from Lithuania to southern France and back late last year (first time in my life made such trip on a car). Belgium looks like patient with terminal stage of cancer for a "fresh eye".... In the middle of workday, I seen LOTS of blacks and arabian-looking guys, without any hurry walking down the streets and sitting in street cafe... More than european looking people..

And, maybe someone can tell me which business may nave a horde of 40-50 arabs (including 12-15 yrs ord girls and boys) on a gas station, near toilets, in the middle of the night? (It again was in Belgium, on my way back).

I don't belong to that liberal BS, but we have to note other side of medal:
North America is 70-80 % white,
South America 30-40%
Australia 80-90 %
Asians part of Russia is also under white domination.

All that areas were colonized by whites.

White peak in history is over.

Now is turn of some others.

Sad but true.

You are so right...when I want high-tech I first think about russian and serb stuff... "made in Russia" or "made in Serbia" has that special ring to it!

(Less beer would have been probably better)

I perfectly understand your sarcasm. ;) Usually russian high tech is not useful for average household. It either flies too high for them, either leave too few survivors. ;)

But this guy is not the first people who telling me similar things. Looks like engineering career is not the most wanted way to go for smart and perspective youths. Not only in Germany, similar opinions from guys moved to UK.

Maybe, maybe... You need to fly to ISS to see functioning Russian-made toilet. ;)

Velund, don't pay too much attention to wurst, he at max saw a university from the inside to take a pisss.

Doesn't matter for your brain.

And if he considers Greeks and Turks European.

What kind of map are you using? ;)

Russians have excellent tanks but terrible cars
Excellent anti-missile rockets but terrible buses
Excellent howitzers but terrible trucks.

It's something wrong in their way of thinking!

;) Germany should have something to pride... It would be a disaster if Lada will beat MB... ;)

Small but important difference - it is enough to have some common tools and not very well educated mechanic to keep Lada running until they will rust completely. But it will be great fiasco if you try something similar on MB car. ;) Important thing for Russia, where you can easily find yourself in broken car >500 km away from nearest service station.

Yep.
Who knows, maybe in Siberia on -40 C, Lada is much better choice than MB!

Just different focus. ;)

If you would just use your peniss adequately...

Germany needs rougly 300.000 engineers. ;)

It's that kind of thinking which stops you from reaching the real heights!

You should strife to develop a gleaming Mercedes fully fit to withstand everything Siberia can throw at you and still look great...not relying on some old, rusty Lada!

;)

Not, of course... It is much more interesting to make some exceptional vehicle for real hero to explore space or fight enemies, rather than look at average Bürger ass and invent something that make it feel good while driving 500 m from house to nearest shop. ;) ;)

Germany needs rougly 300.000 engineers. ;)

So, looks like Germany have too much extra bank clerks and lawyers.

It may change soon. Germany make "energetic sepukku" right now, stopping nuclear power plants. Soon german heavy industries will have much less demand in engineers, and much more demand in construction workers to demolish abandoned industrial buildings.

Don't think so...we are concentrating more and more on renewable/green energies and our engineers will lead the field in that technology too in the future, even more so as they do so already...

German gov today decided to put billions into the electro car research/development/industry...watch this space in the next decade!

(When you probably will still drive your rusty Lada) ;)
