The difference between Hamburg, Dresden and Hiroshima and Nagasaki is that:
1) Hamburg and Dresden had hundreds of planes drop enormous quantities of bombs on them.
2) Hiroshima and Nagasaki had a single bomb, dropped by a single plane.

The reason energy is released slowly inside a reactor, is because it is specifically designed to do that - with graphite control rods (which remove neutrons from the chain reaction), and water submersion (water gets hotter and less dense, slowing reactivity).
A bomb is designed to do the literal opposite. Not 1 neutron, from each fission, causing another fission... But 1 causing 2, 2 causing 4, 4 causing 8, 8 causing 16, and so on - all within tens of nanoseconds.
The reaction inside a bomb scales exponentially, and on the most compressed time frames.

I don't understand why this matters. In a hydrogen bomb, the fusion happens between hydrogen isotopes (THATS WHY ITS CALLED A HYDROGEN BOMB).
Deuterium (^2H) is fused with Tritiuk (^3H), and this produces 1 free neutron, a sh*tload of energy, and yes Helium-4 (but nothing is fused with it).

One neutron is now free. This sustains further chain reactions. Helium-4 is also more tightly bound and stable than deuterium or tritium. The tiny amount of mass that is "lost" while forming ^4He is released as energy, because... E=MC^2.
