He probably is. He might try a provocation or 'escalate to de-escalate'.
Whether he tries that with Poland or the Baltics is anyone's guess however as you suggest, it would be highly unadvisable for him to try.

Why? He wants to somehow save face from the conflict with Ukraine. Starting another armed conflict would be political suicide.
No way are his military going to go along with an invasion of Poland or any other crazy idea. They are already planning the coup.

Why indeed. The government in PL have suggested that he might. Whether or not they have any special intelligence about this is of course a private thing however it has certainly been reported in the media. The Minister of National Defence commented on this.

They wouldn't invade because they couldn't invade. Nor could they afford a war on another front. They may well however try some stunt to distract the free world. Whether that involves Poland, one of the Baltics or perhaps elsewhere is another matter.

This is happening already. They have to deliver food etc to supermarkets hundreds of miles apart and due to fuel shortages anything fresh is spoiling before it reaches the shops.

LOL. Just ordered delivery from local Auchan supermarket. Nothing missing from my regular basked noted. But one fun thing - I see local poultry products (from producer just about 10 km away), that was not presented before, and owner once complained on local news portal, that Auchan set "entry fee" too high.
Diesel is available anywhere, 92 gas is available on most gas stations today, 95/98 is in shortage yet.

Tucker Carlson says all the Russians are shopping at expensive French hypermarts all the time. Just like everyone in Poland is - certainly not Biedronka and Dino, nobody ever goes there. I'm sure luxurious French hypermarket chains would definitely suffer the same supply issues as whatever the Russian equivalent of Biedra is. Definitely. Even if Velund is to believed.

No. Auchan, really, is middle level. Sometimes we go (or order delivery online from) more expensive Metro Cash and Carry chain (known as Makro in Spain). And if we need some really luxurious - there is always "Azbuka Vkusa" to visit (in person).
For basic needs there is something like "Piaterochka" of "Fasol" chains of inexpensive small shops scattered in living buildings around city. Few steps away from home, it is visited in person for a brief purchases.
