Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 28

Ukraine is paying for not joining NATO earlier.

Ukraine has been run like a racket by a corrupt mafia-like oligarchy. They have been focused solely on profit and have shown no interest in any long-term strategy for Ukraine. The same group is more or less still in charge of the country.

So what?

You can say that about half the world and there have been people here who've said much the same about Poland, including you.

That is not in any way justification for an illegal and unprovoked invasion.

Laugh!! Because the Russians lie all the time! Where is the evidence of this supposed "Hypersonic missile"?

This is the REAL truth;

Where is the evidence of this supposed "Hypersonic missile"?

KYIV, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Russia fired a powerful hypersonic missile overnight at a target in Ukraine near the border with NATO-member Poland, in what Kyiv's European allies on Friday described as an attempt to intimidate them from supporting Ukraine.

Putin launched a hypersonic missle into Ukraine

In retaliation for Ukraine destroying key orc bases with billions in vital r*SSian arms.

Same old pattern. Sit tight, hope America fixes it,

Who in Europe is "sitting tight" ? Most European countries continue to give military and financial support to the Ukrainians fighting the illegal invasion

We accept that the US no longer wants to be involved and we accept that Golden Cow has tried to organize a ceasefire but that Putler is not interested in signing it.

In December, Polish Army received the first batch of Borsuk IFVs. Personally, I think Bober would be a better name but anyway...

Borsuk 1

The strengths of Borsuk are widely praised by military personnel who have already had the opportunity to test the vehicle, as well as by those who have completed training in its operation. Unofficially, the following can be heard:

"The targeting system is excellent and allows us to deliver accurate fire at distances of nearly 4,000 meters. Thanks to the ability to use Spike guided missiles, no tank has the right to survive a confrontation with Borsuk. The chassis, in turn, was designed based on often painful experiences from combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. It enables the survival of the crew and soldiers in the event of driving over mines."

Borsuk is the only vehicle of its class in Western countries that can overcome water obstacles (rivers, canals, or lakes) under its own power. Another important aspect is the fact that the vehicle weighs less than 30 tons, which means that in a crisis situation it can be rapidly transported aboard military transport aircraft.

Borsuk 2

I wonder if Borsuk will be battle tested in Ukraine, like Krab, Piorun, Warmate etc. It would definitely make sense - it's a new construction and there's nothing like battle test to see if there aren't any hidden faults or things to improve.

December, Polish Army

The most important currently would be modern drones, counter-drone systems, and combat robots. What does this look like in the Polish Army?

What does this look like in the Polish Army?

Both drones and anti-drone systems are manufactured in Poland in ever growing numbers, and this year in Podkarpacie a huge factory will be built dedicated only to production of such systems.

If Russia wants to invade, they should invade right away because in a couple of years we'll be impossible to conquer.

Ukraine has been run like a racket by a corrupt mafia-like oligarchy.

Probably the only country left in Europe with an oligarchate still intact.

Of course they blame Russia for this. The same Russia which crushed its oligarchs in the early 2000s (accompanied by wailing from the West).

Never did the West care for any Russian as much as it cared for Mikhail Khodorkovsky - a man that ordered multiple murders, including the murder of the mayor of Nefteyugansk who had the temerity to call out Yukos' criminal methods of business.

Now they invite Khodorkovsky to conferences at Freedom House and the Council on Foreign Relations to opine on the state of freedom in Russia. Unbelievable.

have shown no interest in any long-term strategy for Ukraine

The greatest propaganda coup Ukraine ever pulled off, was convincing retarded Westerners that it was somehow a less corrupt and more efficient version of Russia.

The facts - obviously - state otherwise.

1) We reformed our tax code in the early 2000s, hugely improving compliance. We digitized the whole system, and made VAT collection predictable and automated.

The apes in Ukraine maintained a Byzantine, loophole-ridden tax system well into the 2010s. Tax enforcement was always selective and predatory, and primarily applied against the enemies of whoever is in power.

2) We removed most capital controls and achieved a free floating ruble.

Ukraine had chronic capital controls, emergency measures, and constant ad-hoc restrictions. The poor Hrivnha lurched from one crisis to another throughout all 35 years of independence.

3) We closed hundreds of weak banks (now most of those owners sit in London and run blogs about what a monster Putin is), and consolidated banking supervision and regulation.

Ukraine's banking sector is still dominated by oligarch-owned "pocket" banks. Massive insider lending, which continues to this day.

4) Russia adopted a Land Code in 2001, allowing for the private ownership of agricultural land.

Ukraine had agricultural land sales banned until 2021. Insane.

I could go on, and on, and on about corporate governance, anti-corruption agencies, energy pricing and subsidies, and so on and so forth....

The main proof of them being stupid peasants is that
Russian GDP is $2.2T (despite living under the worst sanctions regime), and Ukraine's is $200B (despite getting constant infusions from the whole Western world).

In 1992 Ukraine had a GDP of $22B, in contrast to Russia's $72B. They went from 3 times smaller than Russia, to 10 times smaller.

Sit tight, hope America fixes it,

Are you on drugs?

There is a major war going on right now.

About the yanks, the previous administration was fairly good, however this one has so far been too sympathetic to their owners, r*SSia.

Probably the only country left in Europe with an oligarchate still intact.

So what?

Giving up nuclear weapons, balancing ambiguous friendships, and engaging in shady deals were to be expected. Korvinus discussed strategic plans, national interests, and so on. They couldn't care less about these issues until recently because their own safety was at stake. With Russia's involvement, the end of most of those oligarchs was imminent, and they knew it.
As a lesson to Poland and not only, do not give them an inch, and definitely do not give them anything for free.

Just in:

Putin paid the mullahs 3.8 billion for terror missiles.

Shocking new figures reveal the volume of Iranian arms exports to Russia, which not only ensure the financial survival of the mullah regime but are also almost exclusively fired at Ukraine.

According to Western intelligence agencies, the mullahs in Iran have supplied Russia with billions of dollars' worth of missiles, drones, and ammunition since the end of 2021 - thereby supporting Vladimir Putin's criminal war against Ukraine. Iran sold missiles worth approximately €2.3 billion to Russia alone. Other weapons are also being supplied....

Taking out the Mullahs will help Ukraine so much! Russia without venezolan oil and then also (hopefully) soon without iranian weapons...

This is reported by the news magazine Bloomberg, citing multiple intelligence sources:

Specifically, Putin's regime is said to have purchased several hundred Fath-360 short-range ballistic missiles, 500 missiles of other types, and 200 anti-aircraft missiles from Iran since October 2021 - just a few months before the start of Russia's major offensive against Ukraine. The total value: nearly €3 billion.

In addition, Iran is said to have supplied Russia with several million rounds of ammunition and artillery shells. Intelligence agencies emphasize that this does not represent Moscow's total procurement volume from Iran - further, as yet undisclosed, deliveries have also been completed.

Another component of the terrorist trade between Tehran and Moscow is the Shahed-136 attack drone: Tehran not only sold these but also shared production technologies. The corresponding contract is said to have been worth around €1.5 billion.

According to intelligence estimates, Russia has spent the equivalent of more than 3.8 billion euros on Iranian military equipment since the end of 2021.

Putin (...) must have done something to **** the Trump off, I tell you!

He failed to deliver a rapid victory in Ukraine - something that Trump wouldn't mind at all. In his worldview losers are discarded. Classic Trump.

Besides, Trump expected Putin to de-escalate and avoid actions that unify NATO and U.S. elites against Russia - Putin did the opposite and in the process made a mockery of Trump's attempts to end the war in Ukraine, and treated him pretty much like a retard. Nobody likes being treated like a retard. So, Putin miscalculated and the war will drag on with extra fireworks (see Venezuela and Iran, for a start). I'm just not quite sure if that's the best scenario we could have had.

As I said before - a classic example of monkey trap. Russia really should end this war - for the benefit of everyone - get what they can from it, count their losses and start seriously rebuilding, but they're just not willing to let the fruit go. So annoying when you see a superpower acting so irrationally. :-/

The US is not in a hurry at all to end the war in Ukraine right now.

They have started their own fight in Venezuela, next is Greenland and most likely Cuba and Iran. The more distractions, the better chances for the US to achieve their own goals. Russia likes it too as they can occupy more and more land and strengthen their negotiating position without a serious intervention.

Did Trump abandon his Nobel Peace Prize ambitions? Without ending the Ukraine war he's definitely not getting it.
