Crow

He is a true Sarmat sage.

Ohhh... I miss him so much.

Anyone who doesn't miss him is a robot without a soul.

Why doesnt Europe do sth about it?

Haven't been following the news much, have you...

Turns out France has the largest ground forces in the EU - at 200K

Yes, and France will be there too.

our dicks will refuse to stand at attention

Get some viagra.

See, that's the problem with today's superficial culture. People pick the least important detail from a philosophical treatise (albeit a short one) and concentrate on it, instead of seeing larger implications for the world in general. That's why Crow is so sorely missed on this board.

IMHO "bad NATO"

NATO is as bad to Russia as the Warsaw Pact was to the US.

Adjusting for distance, 100x worse. See Cuba in 1962.

Again, it's nothing new.

...but a deeply held secret, aka the Monroe Doctrine...

Is it possible you hold some delusional perceptions of the U.S.?

She gets them from an 8th-grade textbook...."How Life Should Be".

The main reason why I love the new sheriff is that he relieved me of arguing what's in the Book of Fairness, or any other such document, the US Constitution included...

There is only one rule: Shoot and, if it's good for you, apologize later...but you don't really have to...That's why Trump and Putin are so friendly.

Man, it feels good to be an American...

Memo to Maduro: You should have kept your stupid mouth shut and taken the deal T offered to you, you stupid moron...

It looks the democratic transition has already begun...

Venezuela will release a "significant number" of Venezuelans and foreigners imprisoned in the country, said Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, on Thursday.
...
The releases, a repeated demand of the country's opposition, are a gesture of peace, Rodríguez said....

About that tanker....the first details are in:

Moscow/Washington - New, shocking details have emerged in the case of the tanker "Marinera" (formerly "Bella 1" until December 23, 2025), seized by the US in the North Atlantic. It appears that the ship had been operating for four years, financing terrorists worldwide on behalf of Iran - and has long been owned by a Russian national in Moscow....

It's simple...

A terrorist's underwear is a tool of terrorism. We can take it and burn it.

In Europe, rapists are just misguided young men who didn't know our rules...cultural differences...they will learn, so let's show some compassion...

..he sees things differently, plans and acts differently....

Agreed. But, do you think he has some legitimate concerns? I mean, do you Russian military installments camped on the German border? One of the problems I've had with the western response is a complete dismissal of Russian concerns.

I may disdain Putin, but that doesn't mean Russian concerns are illegit. Agree? 😬

I may disdain Putin, but that doesn't mean Russian concerns are illegit. Agree?

Thing is....which concerns should that be? Ukraine even gave up its nukes (leftovers from the Russians)....there even was a treaty, that "Budapest Memorandum", Russia subscribed to in 1994.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Budapest_Memorandum

Then in 2014 Russia annexed Crimea...next was the Donbas...then 2022 the full scale invasion...all done with no ukrainian nukes and no NATO soldier in sight....

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Ukrainian_war

IMHO there will probably be an super armed Ukraine with the support of foreign troops on its soil, at the border of Russia, but as a consequence of Putins actions and NOT the cause of it!

Then in 2014, Russia annexed Crimea...next was the Donbas..

...because from a friendly and neutral country, Ukraine went full anti-Russian, with a promise to bring NATO even closer to Russia...

The US wouldn't tolerate this crap for a minute if the roles were reversed...

Russia didn't "anex", invade, or occupy Crimea. Crimea had a separation referendum. With that behind, Crimea asked to join the Russian Federation. Check. Done...

Anex implies violence. Nobody died. No violence. More people die in Chicago in a week...

What promise! For that Ukraine would need to be a NATO member state...

But now, they might become one!

Have to leave now...till tomorrow *waves*

A promise to the citizens of Ukraine to join NATO.

Russia said no, just as the US said no to the Soviet military equipment in Cuba in 1962.

No one in their right mind would do that.

Russians in Crimea wanting to join Russia...shocking...isn't it...

..because from a friendly and neutral country, Ukraine went full anti-Russian, with a promise to bring NATO even closer to Russia...

If all Russia wanted to do was stop Ukraine from possessing certain weapons systems, things would have turned out extremely differently because there are infinite diplomatic and geopolitical measures Russia could have stopped a Ukraine in NATO from having weapons sytems it didn't want it to have. Just rerun the Cuban Missile Crisis playbook, there are a lot places on planet Earth where America is vulnerable and those places are more directly pertinent to American strategic interests than Ukraine.

The war didn't start inm 2014 because Ukraine was about to join NATO (which was and still is some distant hypothetical foreign policy football that gets kicked back and forth for decades, like Turkey joining the E.U.) but because Ukraine had ousted pro-Russian president and was trying to begin steps to join the E.U. The issue was, Russia had enough money to make Ukrainian politicians and oligarchs rich, but not enough money to bring the same kind of prosperity to Ukraine that the Czechs and the Poles have gained since joining the E.U. If that happened, any diplomatic or geopolitical means of reuniting Ukraine with Russia in any greater economic, military, or political union would have been killed stone dead more or less indefinitely. Putin perceived this loss of political/economic/military partnership as a major longterm blow to Russia's post-Cold War recovery propects, so here we are.

a killer of pensioners

In the U.K. we call pneumonia the pensionsers' friend.

But yes. Better stick to small doses (like the 25mg and the 50mg you get in Europe) and don't touch it if you've ever had any heart issues. Food to consult a doctor.

My best mate took 3 of the 120mg ones as well as a load of Charlie and ended up in a cardiac ward in hospital. Not a great idea.

but because Ukraine had ousted pro-Russian president

How do you deal with such people?

These Papuans, with their cargo cult of Westernism, decided that what makes you "civilized" is the ability to do whatever you want - whenever you want.

They sorta skipped the part where in long established Western democracies people grit their teeth and bear the results until the next election - and then effect the desired change through the ballot box.

They instead began to pray at the altar of the perpetual Maidan.

That's fine if you live in a spherical vacuum and your choices don't affect anyone but yourself.

But you can't take $15B from Russia, and sign a naval base lease agreement - then turn around and change your mind and abrogate it the next day like a three year old child. These sort of decisions will have consequences - consequences you should have thought about beforehand.

When your economy is destroyed, your power plants leveled, and half your population gone - it's too late to moan about - "we didn't think the Russians would go so far". That's your mistake for thinking we were "done", and you can simply ignore us.

Aboriginals - with no business having a state of their own.

Yes, the invasion of Ukraine was primarily about one thing

Putin wants to recreate the previous borders and alliances that existed when the USSR was a reality. And he has limited options because he cant change the reality of East European countries that are part of the EU, that ship has sailed decades ago.

So that leaves Ukraine and other states. The invasion of Ukraine obviously had nothing to do with Nukes, NATO or Nazi but rather Russia's aspirations of extending the borders of the " Russian empire ".

And why does he want to do that? Because his own political survival within Russian as an autocracy is more likely when other former Soviet are also autocracies and are aligned with Russian nationalism.

But Putin cant give any former Soviet state a choice, he cant allow citizens to decide for themselves through free and fair elections so the concept of sovereignty to him is anathema.

So his objectives are always the same. Interference in elections, support other autocracies like Belarus or invade countries that arent already aligned with the West\EU and then recreate borders that suit Russia.

Thats the only way he can guarantee the nebulous geographical concept of the "Russian empire ".
