The UK is experiencing problems, largely self inflicted by the Socialist government
All those years of Tory chaos are more to blame. Labour has already met most of our manifesto promises and where I'm sat now in Yorkshire, you can see the levelling up starting.
like the fact that London and the Southeast of England drives our economy, this has been true for over 60 years.....
True. Up here where we're literally sat on coal (while importing it from Poland and South America) there used to be mile after mile of coal mines, coking plants, steel mills, textile works, wire works, railway plants, tractor factories, glass factories etc and all the related industries that supplied them. And all the shops and pubs where people spent their wages. Now there aren't, though on some of the pit sites there are huge industrial estates where all they do is unbox things from China and have mega food factories where they make sandwiches for cafes, make pizzas for supermarkets, pies for prisons and salads for hospitals, all by people on minimum wage or near it, almost all agency staff.
he went out to see if he could find a pint of beer in London for under £5
Wetherspoons always has it for way less than that in London. I paid something like £8 a while ago at that pub the MPs go to behind Charing Cross and was shocked (my posh local up here is £3.50 and my scruffy one is £2.50) but then again, there are bars in small northern places that charge £6 for Madri or similar muck if there's music on or they can get away with it.
One problem is that when Generation Z go out for a beer, they really do mean "a" beer and that is helping to send prices up.
