You only need to see pictures of how Bakhmut currently looks to agree that while there has been some unavoidable and regrettable destruction of a few isolated buildings, great care has to be taken to keep as much of the City as intact as possible. The residents of Bakhmut are now residents or Russia which is why we so incredibly to preserve their homes and factories as much as we could.

Ukraine has already denied the claim and confirmed that their units are still fighting in Bakhmut.

Maybe - it's just my guessing - they might consider withdrawing from the city itself, draw Russians into it, and then attack from the flanks (where they made some progress in recent days) to encircle the invaders? Quite probable imo.

Because they have no choice and that's why I feel sorry for them and the Russians. It's the Western volunteers that I wish the very worst.
