@BB

He is. So what? Is he invading Germany? Breaking up diplomatic relations? Maybe even cutting economic ties or decreasing trade?

No.

Maybe he refuses to help Ukraine because of past grievances? Doesn't want to accept Ukrainian refugees?

No.

As I said. Irrelevant.

....so K' is irrelevant?

I just read today that the project of a common german-polish history book for school children has failed....a huge chance that could have been, but no.

WARSAW taz | It was supposed to be a "flagship project", the transnational textbook "Europa. Our history". With him, German and Polish children should develop a better understanding of each other's history. However, the eight-volume textbook that politicians in Poland and Germany initiated in 2008 is rarely used in class today.

"We have sold just 1,000 copies since the last volume was published in 2020," says Waldemar Czerniszewski, director of the renowned Polish textbook publisher WSiP. This is a catastrophe for the publisher: the book series involved years of preparatory work, the development of a new didactic approach and high investment costs.

The fact that the textbook is hardly accepted is also due to the Polish government: a historian commissioned by the Ministry of Education rated the last volume negatively. This could have serious consequences: Because without the approval of all eight individual volumes for school lessons, the entire work in Poland will not receive an approval number. ....

taz.de/Deutsch-polnisches-Schulbuch/!5933450/

This polish mindset is highly destructive and doesn't bode well for the future....

What is it!

Hard to tell. Big WTF moment when reading about Germany convincing USA to let the them federalize Europe...

PS: There exists a similiar french-german history school book since 2006 btw.....and we have not a less checkered past with France. Why was that possible but not with Poland?

Big WTF moment when reading about Germany convincing USA to let the them federalize Europe

....another one of those "HELP the mean Germans want to dominate poor us"! That supplanted the invasion rumour it seems....it doesn't even matter WHAT Germany does, as we now know....Germany does something, anything, no matter what and Poles rise up!

How do you live and work with a hysteric people?

....so K' is irrelevant?

In the larger scheme of things, yes, quite irrelevant. He is neither going to lead Poland out of the EU nor NATO, and his influence on Polish politics will end in a couple of months time when PiS loses the elections.

history school book

I haven't read the book, so I don't know what they opposed to, but in general it seems like a good idea to have such textbook.

we have not a less checkered past with France

Hmm... I'm not so sure. Did you murder 3 million French in WW2? Closed them in concentration camps and considered them Untermenschen fit only for death or slavery? Were there concentration camps for French children like Kinder-KZ Litzmannstadt? Did you raze Paris completely to the ground and murdered 200,000 Parisians in the process? All things considered I wouldn't say your past with France is "not a less checkered" - it's a different category.

but in general it seems like a good idea to have such textbook.

Yes....of course it is! And as I read it was quite difficult for french and german historians too....of course there will be problems and differences and every book gets an addendum...but it's a start! It would be a great start...

it's a different category.

Thing is....the french were willing, differences and difficulties notwithstanding!

It would be a great start...

Definitely! *fingers crossed*

the french were willing

Poles are willing too. Kaczynski and PiS are not the entire Poland. Besides, the normalisation of Germany's relations with France started much earlier than with Poland and the most recent history wasn't as difficult.

...but PiS is winning, isn't she....and when a coalition with the Konfederacia (?) comes to pass I fear we can throw all such future common projects in the bin...seriously!

(totally OT now I know....trudges off)

@Bratwurst Boy
Coalition with Konfederacja is highly unlikely, possibly Co-operation regarding enacting laws that Konfederacja wants in Sejm, but Konfederacja doesn't want to dirty herself with PiS Co-government.

PiS is their main electoral opponent regarding possible right side of the spectrum voters.

Just like CDU is for AFD in Germany

but PiS is winning, isn't she

Nope. Collected votes of KO, PSL-P2050 and Lewica should be enough to form the government regardless of whether PiS enters into a coalition with KonfedeRUSSIA or not (not very likely).

Why should two independent nation-states with two different cultures, native ethnic groups and histories have a common history textbook?

More russian fail!

Some old coot brings putain (or his double?) an old map from the 17th century to prove that Ukraine isn't on it so it's not a real country....

What could possiblye go wrong?

Well... it doesn't have Ukraine but it does have Vkraine (the land of the cossacks)!

russians.... they never grow tired of being wrong and somehow they wonder why the world laughs at them....

ps. No mention of NATO!

Actually...no, they won't...Quoting:

Russia opposes 'freezing' Ukraine conflict - Kremlin
The only option is to complete the military operation, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said

You mean for not nuking China?

No, for not winning. You don't go to wars you can't win.

don't go to wars you can't win

I think _you_ need to send that post to Moskva....
Novichok 4 | 7,139

I don't have to send anything to Moscow, mafkutasek. They know the outcome already and are cool with it.

Now, Z-hole is a different matter. He really could benefit from my mathematics. Like Z-P=0

But then being Jewish, he is too smart not to figure it out himself. It's those damn strings and the leash...

They know they're losing

Are they ?
You told us that Russia was running out of missiles too and you were wrong.
Ukraine is doomed to defeat against Russia in a war that has killed thousands of Ukrainians, left Ukraine's cities battered and its economy in shambles, Hungarian Prime Minister said Tuesday.

Meanwhile the largest warship in the world just pulled into Oslo showing Russia that NATO will not be intimidated by Russia.

Do you realize how you made Putin feel? Can you imagine his despair at watching Bakhmutians greeting Z's army with flowers, hugs, and kisses?

You have no heart, little mafkutasek.

The Russian warship Ivan Hurs had been attacked by Ukrainian uncrewed speedboats in the Black Sea, on the approaches to the Bosphorus strait.
The Russian warship was guarding the gas pipeline to Turkey.

"All enemy boats were destroyed by fire from the standard armament of a Russian ship 140 km northeast of the Bosphorus," the statement added.

They know they're losing

And they're absolutely terrified. As I recall, it was Colin Powell who used the terms known unknown and unknown unknown (wasn't he quoting from an earlier use?) and r*SSia knows very well that there are known unknowns which will hit them very hard.

The recent incursions into Belgorod have shown how far they've fallen and they are acutely aware how little the6 can actually do.

The recent incursions into Belgorod have shown how far they've fallen

Exactly. Basically, Putin has lost control over a part of Russian territory. When was the last time it happened in Russia? 1943?
mafketis 35 | 11,551
24 May 2023 #388
utin has lost control over a part of Russian territory

to russians..... ironically enough.

general fyi the white and blue russians are basically nationalists who want things like borders and control over immigration (things putain is very much against).
GefreiterKania 30 | 1,217
24 May 2023 #389
to russians (...) the white and blue russians

Русские рубят русских? Well, I never... history does like to repeat itself.

When was the last time it happened in Russia? 1943?

I don't recall how the conflict along the Amur River in (I think) the 1950s ended up (and in any case, that was smaller and mostly uninhabited) so probably yes, 1943.

A very humiliating g day for r*SSia and may thee be many more to come.
