Poland`s aid to Ukraine if Russia invades

And threatening/invading another independent country is now patriotism?

Yes. The highest grade as it requires action. Bs-ing is cheap. In that sense, Hitler was a patriot and loved Germany.

...how would you call that then?

Dead patriots. Many dead patriots.

Russian people have little interest in invading Ukraine.

...as opposed to the Americans who supported Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. You know the line...who if not us. No sarcasm here.

Hey, BB, since you are a nice and reasonable guy, I will confess that my cynicism and the attitude toward Russia and Putin's aggressiveness is in great part the result of something that is sick and purely American: the US never gets into wars for its own, immediate, and measurable benefit. It's always to protect concepts like democracy, freedom, and "our allies". Or women's rights. We just somehow missed Rwanda as a splendid opportunity to spend some more for the cause not our own.

That wouldn't be so bad if we had tons of money to burn or there were no unintended consequences.

Kuwait was the best example of this mental disorder aka messiah complex. What did we get in return? Nothing but pride that we did it for the principle, not oil. God forbid getting paid. That would make our noble armed forces into mercenaries.

Putin is not that stupid. Whatever he does, I am sure it's not for a noble principle. That makes him better.

I got that you badass....most people got that by now! You are a cuddly softy teddybear under all that cynicism and attitude! :)

But really....compared to Hitler the US has had only the most patriotic govs....the US got rich and powerful with them, so no matter what they did it was definitely to their benefit.....Germany on the other hand got totally destroyed and partitioned, de-balled to a weak pussy!

@Bratwurst Boy ; weak pussy...
No, no, not so weak. Germany is still an economic Worldmaster. "Made in Germany" is still the best brand of all.

"Made in Germany" is still the best brand of all.

....its mostly made in China by now....anywhere where the costs are cheaper and the profit greater!

I tell ya, the coming de-tox from global production lines aka dependencies will hurt, as any withdrawal will.

@pawian
Yes Poland will send in the mighty Polish Navy where all 12 members will sit in their 6 rowboats with water guns shooting at the seagulls who will be pooping on them.

Poland will do nothing with any battle in Ukraine against Russia. Poland and the rest of NATO will send supplies and nothing more. US said they will send more troops to Poland if Russia invades but no troops to Ukraine. This means Poland stays home as well and welcomes more cheap labor crossing the border as Russia takes over.

Yes. Ordinary Russians should realise that Putin`s new war means further sanctions on Russia which will only deepen Russian society`s deplorable economic status.

Yes Poland will send in the mighty Polish Navy

:) Funny. But it is obvious you read only the title of the thread, skipping the OP`s post. Go back to it and read what it is about. The OP said clearly: US and West European supplies of defensive weapons

Poland will do nothing with any battle in Ukraine against Russia

Anywhere did the OP mention it in his post. His suggestion refers to keeping the door open for supplies to anti-Russian underground in case large parts of Ukraine are occupied.

Poland and the rest of NATO will send supplies and nothing more.

Is it going to be so easy? How about potential Russian embargo on gas and coal to Polish power stations? I fear the Kremlin might blackmail PiS government to withdraw from active aid for Ukraine.

@pawian
You really think Poland wouldn't just start digging up more coal and say F to the EU, climate change, and carbon taxes? Think the US wouldn't start bringing more tankers of LPG and coal over to Poland? And PiS knows this. So JK can create panic by talking about war when we all know Russia will only try to regain those countries it lost that were naturally part of the USSR. Putin has no interest in dealing with another Polish uprising in 10 years, and no interest in tangling with NATO. Putin is aggressive and smart. He will take what he can when he can with calculated risk. A bunch of the "stan" countries will be next. Sanctions can only stop so much, Rissia can always find ways to do business with someone, just at discounted pricing on Russian offerings.

Now you are hitting the nail at .last.:):) Yes, tankers will be sent but will they suffice to cover all the needs?

when we all know Russia will only try to regain those countries it lost that were naturally part of the USSR.

Hmmm....would you agree with Germany trying to regain those territories it lost that were naturally part of the German Empire too?

Something like that? Could we count on your understanding too?

Or why not that one while we are at it....the german HRE lasted nearly a millennia after all....

All naturally ours....it belongs all to us, no matter what the people say....we should "regain" it!
OP pawian 187 | 17,485

Could we count on your understanding too?

But Polam didn`t condone Russian regaining of those lost Soviet republics. He just stated a fact about the Russian obsession to bring back their old Soviet Empire. :):)

@Bratwurst Boy
Were did I say I understood or accepted anything? Get some reading comprehension. Just because I can see what Putin is doing and why does not mean I condone anything.

Germany, if the country started something military again? Aggressive imperialist actions? BB you would be witnessing the end of the German nation for ever if that happened again. It is one of the primary reasons people are blowing back at the EU being controlled by Germany. While I don't know you, I can say, no one I know in Europe or the US trusts Germany as a country.

Your statement that "All naturally ours....it belongs all to us" is exactly why I personally don't believe any country will ever fully trust Germany, it is a German belief. Right or wrong I am not debating.

Putin would have to tangle with nato if he is to regain all lost ussr territories or the baltics and secondly he would have to tangle with nato by proxy or weapons like swedish made guns in ukraine right now waiting for him so why wait why not just get poland now as well?

also why do you think poland would only have an uprising and not ukraine or other territories? remember upa? or the famine? im sure ukrainians are not too fond of russians either invading so what makes you think putin is more afraid of some polish vs ukrainian or others uprisings?

and what makes you think nato without the us and biden and harris i doubt would care about rightwing nationalist pis poland would even be able to stand up to russia without us? and what makes you think the same thing wouldnt happen that happen in 39 with england and france doing squat?

Russia will only try to regain those countries it lost that were naturally part of the USSR

It isn't enough.... it needs satellites since the USSR couldn't really support itself and needed to economically exploit other countries to stay (barely) afloat and countries breaking away from the Russian 'sphere of influence' hastened the end of the USSR.

Remaking the USSR won't work without rebuilding the Warsaw pact....

Just because I can see what Putin is doing and why does not mean I condone anything.

Sure you did....."doing it only" is a judgement, no wriggling out. That is the kind of argument by people who deny Ukraine the right to join EU or NATO....because that implies Russia has some "right" to get a say innit. Because it belonged/belongs "naturally" to Moscow...

And I somehow think you show alot more understanding for Russia re-creating the Sovietunion than you would for Germany re-creating our old Empire....why is that? It doesn't look good for Poland either way!

@Bratwurst Boy
I am not understanding of the Russian idea or the German idea. I recognize why either might want, but in no way accept those desires as being ok.

NATO which Ukraine has not officially applied to join to my knowledge, will support other NATO members including Poland. The US has already said more troops to Poland if Russia invade Ukraine.

Putin will never rebuild the entire USSR. It was a failed experiment like the USA is looking to be a failed experiment in many ways. Like the EU is looking like a failed experiment. People who are culturally different simply should remain so, and there is nothing wrong with it. All the trying to form "unions" or huge countries covering continents is never going to survive forever. In the end we are all little tribes.

That said, there will be some countries that gravitate back to Russia. Some of the "stans" clearly could benefit from going back.

The only real danger in wars with Russia is nuclear. Any traditional war they can not win against NATO. But they sure could gain some territory staying away from NATO and going after those countries who do business with Russia now, and who were once part of the USSR. Some of those countries could have a much greater standing within the Russian sphere than they had before because so may countries would not be back in the sphere. It could be attractive for many to look at.

Okay then....my error!

And if the people in the ex-territories vote for it they can join what they want....so it should be.

People who are culturally different simply should remain so,

Going back through history, you might also say that Christianity was a failed experiment and people should have stuck to their pagan faiths. :):) Imagine how many religious wars and conflicts could have been avoided......

USA ... the EU is looking like a failed experiment.

Why are you so impatient? Give them some more time.... The US has existed only for nearly 250 years or so, the EU even less. They need more time to achieve final perfection. Egyptian pharaohs had ruled for thousands of years until it finished with failure. Still, what they had created neverendlessly inspires people even today.

That is why:
Relax....

Coz it satisfies their silly desires for imperial grandeur ?? If you live in squalid conditions and earn enough peanuts to buy only bread, vodka and pickles, it feels good to think you are a subject of a good tsar who is recreating the empire. :):):)

and wtf these Polaks here can buy with their meager wages outside maybe some people in Warsaw? and even those people live **** lives in country cold half the year with garbage bars or nightlife and gold diggers. so im sure the russians at least know how to party and live better than Polaks. Id rather be not rich but get regular and diff women or pu-sy than some catholic boring polak lifestyle.

Who whants to join a country with such everlasting and monster problems as all-pervasive corruption, organized crime and oligarch's dominance, among the other? But on ethnical and cultural level majority of Ukrainians are OK with Russians, I think.

Did biden and Putin strike a deal ?
biden just gave Putin the green light to invade (with softer sanctions) as the U.S.A. (NATO) has started flying weapons at mock speed into Ukraine.

Putin is playing biden like a fiddle.
biden wants to take the spotlight off his failures like our southern border, the skyrocketing crime rate, the skyrocketing inflation, our empty food shelves, his 30% approval rating and shift the focus on a war with Russia.

The democrats love war.
Poland should be hearing loud booms any day now.
johnny reb 32 | 6,762

V.P. Kamala Harris has joined in on the White House's campaign to repair biden's flub on Ukraine in his press conference on Wednesday, where he revealed Nato is divided on how to respond to a "minor incursion" from Russia.

"The president has been very clear, and we as the United States are very clear: if Putin takes aggressive action, we are prepared to levy serious and severe costs. Period," Harris said in appearance on NBC's Today Show.

(Elect clowns, expect a circus.)
My personal opinion is that this is going to boil down to a cyber war in the end.
The most dangerous escalation is likely to occur in cyberspace.
The Russians have a field-tested, battle-ready warfare that combines hacking, disinformation and malware with missiles and manpower and could inflict serious damage on the financial, energy, communications and other online infrastructure of America and its allies if the conflict escalates.

biden's flub on Ukraine in his press conference

That had to be the most embarrassing press conference that a sitting President has ever given in history. He is a disgrace and dumb as a box of rocks as well.

Green light for Vlad, who's going to stop him now?
Novichok 3 | 6,515

That had to be the most embarrassing press conference

His voters are unfamiliar with the concepts of "embarrassing" and "shame".

He is a disgrace and dumb as a box of rocks as well.

...unless he wants a war. Then it was brilliant and a chance to be the man who stood up to Putin as a legacy. What else does he have to brag about? Open borders?
