Abortion still under control in Poland

To you. To me early stages of pregnancy that may or may not be successful are not equal to live human being.

Would I like to see a world where there is no need for that? Sure. But as it stands it's here no matter what.

The Church hath spoken.

To me

who cares for your excuses! that is not what the science says.

Cojestdocholery, the Church has nothing to do with science, but only with (outdated) ideology! The Good Book was the first attempt to explain the physical world to a bunch of ignorant illiterates who didn't understand what was going on around them.

Back to my evolution analogy, in the Bible, it is stated that the world was created in seven days. Yet, do we actually know how long "a day" was measured to be? How can we be sure?

...are not equal to live human being.

You have to choices: (1) Because it's dead, or (2) it's another species.
So which one is it? 1 or 2? Or both?

Make it more complex. We have time.

No, you missed

(3) is not a human being yet
Cojestdocholery 2 | 1,191

) is not a human being yet

neither are you for some, that is an excuse not an argument.
Miloslaw 19 | 4,925
25 May 2022 #2,321
But you totally fail to see or comprehend the argument.
Your opinion is.based on faith and not on facts.

(3) is not a human being yet

What it is not is not the question. The question is what it is.
If not human, it is an object - like a bicycle - or another species.
So what is it?
Miloslaw 19 | 4,925
25 May 2022 #2,323
So what is it?

A non sentient creature with the potential to develop into a human being.

Please note the words non sentient and potential.

Your opinion is.based on faith and not on facts.

prove it!

Please note

semanticks and excuses without a substance.
DNA says that it is a human being from the start. It is science. All you have is your opinion.

Please note that it is alive and you want to kill it because it is an inconvenience. Pfffft !

All you have is your blind faith.

A non sentient creature with the potential to develop into a human being.

Bullsh*it. Whatever it is, its location is irrelevant - in the womb or in her arms.

A baby that came out 10 seconds ago is as just as "sentient" as it was 20 seconds back inside the woman. Those 20 seconds separate "rare and legal" abortion every feminazi wants to be legalized from premeditated murder.

Just because you can't see it with the naked eye does not make it a creature. But I am willing to play along...

From conception till the umbilical cord is cut, precisely when does the "creature" enter the next stage, and what is it?

@RussianAntiPutin

See post #2268. There is a difference between natural causes of death and willfully causing death.

Yes women are precious, motherhood is precious.

This is really a pointless debate. Poland (let's not forget we're talking about Poland, not the USA or anywhere else) should simply do what we did in Ireland and let the people decide - have a referendum.

let the people decide

But the entire point of the abortion ban is imposing one's will on those who dare to disagree with one!!!

have a referendum.

I love referenda. The problem is what to do if 51% decide to commit suicide as a tribe. That can be easily accomplished by an excessive number of abortions, open borders, and too many gays. With the repro rate of 1.4, Poland is already on the brink and needs foreign scum to keep the headcount stable.

But the entire point of the abortion ban is imposing one's will...

Like with everything else, including paying taxes.

Atch, you're hypocritically slipping.
Both Poland and Ireland are Catholic countries so why do they need a referendum since the church has already said that abortion is sin ?

@johnny_reb, that's because Poland is a secular democracy and not a religious regime.

let the people decide - have a referendum.

PiS won't allow a referendum, because judging by the polls majority of Poles are against the harsher abortion law that was introduced by this government. PiS knows what the result of the referendum would be.

Poland is a secular democracy and not a religious regime.

Exactly. The majority of the population in both Poland and Ireland are Catholics but neither country is a theocracy.

I guess I would need that explained a little better.
If their God told them, "thou shall not kill" it seems like they would follow God's law instead of mortal mans law if they were devote Catholics.
Paulina 16 | 4,370
26 May 2022 #2,336
@johnny reb, I doubt that majority of Poles are such devout Catholics. Besides, we're not talking here about a total lack of ban on abortion, but going back to "the abortion law consensus" that PiS threw out of the window.

mortal mans law

...is the law in any secular democracy. It can be influenced to various degrees by the religious views of a given society, of course. But the degree to which it is influenced by those religious views depends on the level of religiousness of the said society (and common sense, I guess, hopefully).

But the entire point of the abortion ban is imposing one's will on those who dare to disagree

like ban on murder, rape, loot, mass murder, ethnic cleasing, racial eugenic and many more... let it go all of it, why do you think that you can just pick and choose one and make exception for the other? ego too big!

that PiS threw out of the window.

yet again you don't know what you are talking about and you say that calling you stupid is toxic, rather your presistent stupidity is toxic.

@Cojestdocholery, I do know what I'm talking about:

Cojestdocholery 2 | 1,191

do know what I'm talking about:

politically colored commentry. In fact there was a gap in the law that was exploited to kill children with down syndrome or with children they were 'supected' to have down syndrome.

That was the only thing that changed.
All those attempts to change so called abortion law has nothing to do with it. That was a legal matter that was sorted.
That PiS was claiming somthing else to whipp up their score is also a different issue.

What you present as a fact are simply rabble rousing manipulations and lies that those people use all the time. If you have not wised up to their tricks you are ....! yes i don't want to say it.

It works as a charm because people like you think they are so smart but always fail to check their facts.
It is really hard for you to admitt that you have been duped like a child so you go into a fully denial mode.

Hey, Paulina, write your own abortion law for your imaginary country.
