Partition of PiS?

Who wants to discuss the break up PiS?

Morawiecki wanted to start a sub-group within the party and after some maneuvering Kaczyński said that only those who sign a loyalty oath by 0.00 (12 am) last night would remain in the party.

That passed and today at 12 noon Kaczyński said that anyone who didn't sign was out of the party.

The division in the party has been described as being between the Butter Boys (Kaczyński loyalists) and the Boy Scouts (Morawiecki's faction).

36 members of parliament have apparently joined Morawiecki including longtime very close Kaczyński associate Ryszard Terlecki?

What's going on?

What's liable to happen now?

Really surprised at Terlecki going

Poland needs a proper right wing pro business party (as do most countries - the right has been taken over my whackjobs starting with Orban and then spreading). I don't mind Morawiecki but probably won't vote for him

Pretty well all Polish political parties split up in the end, except of course for PSL.

Yeah but PiS has been around 20 years and seemed to be the model for building stable "big tent" political parties in this region. What Kaczynski has done is leave nobody in doubt that he sees it as a personal vehicle. Might have been different if Lech had lived.

Like em or loath em they have been great at elections and local organization (often through throwing taxpayers money at their voting base) and living standards increased considerably during their reign. It was the religious stuff that I found offputting and then a descent into very open corruption.

800+ certainly works and is the achievement they should be remembered by. The corruption was there right from the start though, especially at local levels.

And of course their voter base is dying off now.

I am glad, because thanks to this split, the Confederation and the Confederation of the Polish Crown will receive more votes.

What goes through the heads of Braun supporters? I mean, he's mean and nasty and has slogans instead of policies.

I'm wondering if the Morawiecki faction may end up with KO... (PO seemed a much better fit for Morawiecki before he fell in with the duck crowd).

We already have over 2 trillion (2,000,000,000,000) in debt, and it's only going to get worse. Meanwhile, the idiotic public still largely supports this government (one guy I know claims everything is fine because of cheap butter and credit, while another says we have to go into so much debt, lol), and those who don't support it mostly support PiS. And so we're slowly heading towards collapse. That's why only Grzegorz Braun.
Because there is no chance for direct democracy anyway, without some bloody coup.

Morawiecki clearly stated that he and his group do not will not cooperate with anyone who supports the current government
