So if Duda does what you think he should do - this is good, but when Duda does otherwise - this is bad. We need you and not Duda as President!

it's not just me - Duda disappointed millions of people

those millions of other will never vote for him anyway

And you know this how? They may vote for him once the party leader is done. I would if they got rid of Kaczynski and got a non mummified human instead. He belongs in a friggin museum amid otber relics. Duda isn't even close to museum status.

You are not 'millions of people', so you shouldn't speak on their behalf. It is Duda who is much more entitled to speak on their behalf ...

Duda betrayed millions of people and he knows it

Haha funny! You dont know jack. Just your circle of like minded pis supporters. He did more people a favour than not, just not the ones you know or admit to knowing.

I can read Polish - and I do read comments on the internet - plenty of people feel betrayed - those who are happy about the vetos will never vote for Duda anyway

the country's well-paid judges who consider themselves a privileged and untouchable elite

They're far from well paid when you look at what people with similar educations and skill-sets make in private practice. And none of the ones I've ever met consider themselves to be members of a privileged and untouchable elite. But then it's very possible that I'm writing about judges who actually exist and you're writing about works of fiction of the same type as the Solidarnosc bandits who once graced the pages of the Podunk County Polish Pig Farmer's Gazette.

Wałęsa has mentioned forcing the govenremnt to jump out of upstairs windows and helping them if they refuse.

There's no need to force the government to do anything, the only thing that needs to happen is for the puppet-master to be locked up and to face trial for his crimes.

No future for pis with Kaczynski at the helm. They will either adapt or face natural selection like all animals. Who the hell here cant read polish? The Indian guy?

Interesting article in the Washington post on problems with the (now thankfully defunckt) "reforms"

@mafketis

the article contains outright lies - like this the goverment can choose a judge for every single court case

It's the Washington post for christs sake. Bad example mate! They are not entirely associated with fact. Even though i support the dudes actions this paper is full of it.

Which provision of the dedd reformprojekt prohibits this?
gumishu 13 | 6,138

the judges were to be drawn (losowani) for each and every case - no place for picking them by ministers or anybody

Well how long before election? We get to test out the theories. Hopefully an asteroid will hit Kaczynski in the mean time so we can get rid off him and blame it on gods will.

many Poles with different political leanings have criticized the existing court system

But somehow I don't remember you doing so until this particular "reformationsprojekten" was unveiled. It's almost as if you'd received instructions concerning the topics you should raise here.....

I didn't know you were a conspiracy theorist mafketis, I guess according to you all those people who comment on portals like interia, wp and onet in support of PiS are paid trolls - this is a common belief among total oposition supporters who don't understand how they have lost elections and live in a PO+TVN bubbles

Either that or somebody is just parroting what he hears on Radio Maybach. Anyway, I need to run, the protest started at six and you only get 50% wages if you're more than an hour late.

I just sincerely hope the considerable effort the govt put into misinformation and propaganda was paid for by PiS and not from taxpayers funds or by the shareholders of Orlen, Pekao etc.

Mind you must have been funny seeing them all trying to fix the website yesterday morning and then making a few calls only to find out that every IT nerd is Warsaw was too busy listening to help them.

do you think that government propaganda including billion deals with private broadcasters was paid by PO during their rule

or maybe you think the likes of Nowoczesna would be less generous on propaganda from taxpayer funds - if so I envy your naivety

and actually the PR around the proposed judiciary changes was rather minimal

Only a Merongivian reptilian would accuse me of being a conspiracy theorist.

What does that have to do with anything ? I am not a fan of PO. Of course they should also pay for their own political messaging,

I don't remember it ever stooping to what we have seen in the last few days though. Fake news, Islamic invasion, padeophilia, Soros, lists of compliant minor academics, the constant insistence that this is normal practice abroad, revolutions etc. The nadir was Szydlo is her awful green dress, reading from the autocue about foreign backers of the elites - it would not have looked out of place in 1981.

and you believe how much this amount of PR solely in public media costs - compared to what PO paid to their friendly TVs it's peanuts

Even if it is 1000 zloty it is too much because it is public money, used to spread outright lies. Anyway I have no proof that has happened - just a hunch :).
gumishu 13 | 6,138

used to spread outright lies

so it was a lie that judges are apointed even more politically in Germany?

guess what - your political ideals will never get realised in your lifetime

it would not have looked out of place in 1981.

PiS is the Neo-PRL!
