Cultural misscommunication, or is he trying to send me a message? Working with Polish dude.

I have an update to my original post: More of the behavior continued, and only has me a lot LESS confused about his sexuality.

More recently at a party, I leaned into him to tell him something and rubbed his face against mine - twice.
He told me that girls should really wear sports bras at his gym ...
He has been constantly looking at my pants, groin area.
He asked me if I wanted him to go to the men's room with me.

So I now feel that he's totally in the closet, and it's because of his family and culture. At least I know he digs me, and slowly but surely he's sending me a message that he wants to be more then mere friends...

Question is.... should you now want to be friends with him, in those circumstances, after all this time of having taken no action?

I don't think its slowely but surely..I think its quite simple the dude thinks your gay and has been been giving you the green light for some time.

Dont talk arse fella. No one has been executed in Free europe for being gay in hundreds of years......Alabama had decapitation on its law books for gays well into the 1960s. So yes, i stand by what I say, you are in a country where right wing bible bashing hypocrites still call the shots, a savage barbarian culture of executions and represion in half the states that make up the land of the free.......

Europe is much older than America. I think we have come a long way in a short time. Spitting on the sidewalk is a jailable offense in NYC but it is never enforced. Point being thier are alot of silly laws still on the books doesn't mean thiey are truly enforcible. Hell sodomy is still on the books in 70 percent of states but that is no longer enforced either.Turn the clock back 20 years or more and there is a large change in attitudes towards being gay. I am sure it would be harder growing up in the bible belt though.

Anyone is this thread from the Chicago area?

It's been awhile since I updated this thread, but here's a new twist to the story: I found out that my friend is 'married' to a polish girl, he has been for over 4+ years! Apparently he lives with her but he doesn't mention her by name, or bring her to any work related events. When asked if he is married, he told someone close to me he is 'married to his job'.

What gives here? Why would he mislead me, and the rest of us in terms of having a woman in his life?
