Hello guys!!

I'm new here. I hope to share a great PF experience with you all. :)

I'm a foreigner who will be relocated to Wroclaw in about a month.
I will be working & living in WRO and I'm looking for a flat!

All I know about Wroclaw is that it's got one of the most beautiful market squares in Poland(Rynek), and that it is an awesome city to live!!

I would love to live close to the centre to enjoy what Wroclaw has to offer!

How are sectors divided in Wroclaw and what are their characteristics? Which sector of the city do you recommend for me?
Any booming place that young people in Wroclaw prefer to live?

Please share that you know of Wroclaw!! :)

Some details about me

-Male/single.
-Late 20's.
-Love city-life, beautiful buildings, romantic life-style.
-ready to pay for my flat b/w 1500-2000PLN a month.

Thank you in advance!!

Quick question, do you plan on driving a car?

Okay, then. Look hereabouts: Generała Stanisława Maczka, Wrocław, Poland. Google Map it. That's your best bet, for the dough you're willing to spend, and the demographic you wanna kick it with. Be sure to check out facebook.com/wroclaw.wroclove]

Thanks for your quick response, Jasondmzk.

The place you've recommended me seems to be quite far from the centre and show me rows of APT with trees only.
Could you tell me the reason you recommend this street? "Generała Stanisława Maczka"

Unless you get a roommate, you're not going to be living in stare miasto, or the rynek, which are just packed to the gills, and not as fun as you'd think to actually reside in anyways. Having a car, you could live like a king in Ferio Gej, like a pauper in Bielany, or pretty okay where I showed you. If you plan on drinking, it's an easy #17 tram-ride to the rynek, there's a Żabka on one corner and a City Market on the other, meaning you can walk to what is basically a full-service convenience store or an actual little grocery store, without having to drive. There's also a couple decent Italian places within walking distance. The point being, you wanna use your car as little as possible, but when you do, you've got Wyścigowa right there, which is basically your link to the main artery to downtown, the Galeria, the interstate, whatever. And! You'll have your own underground garage space on Maczka. Trust me, in winter, you're going to want one.

Jason,
I know that's not far from Auchan and TVP Wroclaw et al - not a bad area. Are there flats to rent there, I might be interested. Currently not having much success getting any landlords to reply to my emails when I tell them I'm from England, Might just be coincidence, but so far the only reply I got was when I genuinely forgot to say I was from England (that LL then vanished when I did tell her).

That area is Partynice, which is a great name, isn't it? I recommend it for anyone with a car, as it's only got the one bus stop. Another great area is Krzyki-Borek, although in any ad, it might just say Krzyki, as Borek is a little part of Krzyki. Have you tried dlastudenta.pl Or gumtree? There's also tablica.pl and oferty.net. If you're using Chrome, I suggest you turn off auto-translate for a moment, and study the ads en lingua franca, it's a great way to learn some elementary Polish realty shop-jargon.

Yes, some shopper in Auchan was wearing a tee-shirt saying "You gotta fight for the right to Partynice" or something like that, some years ago. Pronounced Party neetza or similar I think.

Been using all the usual websites yes but not dla studenta as am not a student (except of life and beer, sometimes the two have to be linked).

Can confirm I have emailed several LLs in that area, the road with the racecourse at the top. No responses so far except as above.

I agree with your area recommendations, just not having any luck getting any replies so far, and also my rent budget is approx 1300PLN excluding monthly charges so am limited by that too. I don't think they're that hot on the idea of a cheapskate Brit in their flats :o)

I'm not into soccer much or at all, perhaps I should start putting that in my emails to them "I'm a Briton but don't worry as am very much just an occasional armchair spectator with no ultras or hools to invite round to trash the place..."

dlastudenta isn't just for students. It's a good way to find places on the fly.

Why is it called 'Forstudents' then, huh!? Seems a tad bizarre. Anyway, no photos (that I can see) of the accommodation which is a serious drawback. Lots of volume however

Hey West Coast Exp and maybe InWroclaw if your looking for flat, I moved to Wroclaw a few weeks ago and have met this legend of an estate agent, he is a sound guy who speaks good English and he is really on the ball, I can ask him about passing his details if you guys are interested in help.

This is typical of Poland, unfortunately. When dealing with everyone from estate agents to airlines, I've never had a response by email (writing in Polish makes no difference). The only way which works is to actually phone them up or turn up at the office. It's the Polish way. They will learn eventually, though - they will have to or lose business.

I had a response from two by email - one ceased after I said I was a Briton, the other said something similar to "ad expired/flat let".

I can ask him about passing his details if you guys are interested in help.

Feel free to PM me the details, many thanks
