although you seem to wish to justify the bad and unacceptable habits of many Poles, by suggesting it is ok, because other people in other countries do it.

She doesn't do that. Care to quite were she stated such statement.

No one is suggesting that corruption / lying / cheating Poland-specific

No one? Maybe read the title of the thread fist.

This is exactly the point that Poles always jump to, you wish to justify your bad habits, its about time you cleaned up your own house

I am agree with you

Where have I ever justified them?

its about time you cleaned up your own house.

How extremely nice of you to be so insultingly patronising to me and my countrymen.

Further more you don't even live in Poland, if you are so nationalistic come back to Poland and pay your taxes here, contribute to the country you claim to love, instead of sitting in the UK.

Well, what is your lordship doing "sitting" in Poland then? You have no arguments whatsoever, so it seems the time has come to trot out the "you're not even in Poland" attack? And, pray, where in this thread have I spoken of my love for Poland or of being nationalistic? I thought we might have a nice chat, but I am very disappointed. You are unable to defend your viewpoint and refuse to see what I'm saying loud and clear.

Nah, he has already established point of view and it doesn't really matter what you have to say. So you insisted on talking to the wall and then you are surprised that the wall is not listening.

We are not debating everywhere, we are debating Poland corruption,lying,cheating..

A.K, the title does not read ONLY Poles are - the Nation of Liars. or Poles - the ONE AND ONLY Nation of Liars?

Now you are twisting everyone's point and apply a new suitable for you interpetation because you can't give us an example when you were cheated by a Pole.

Magda is right - you're a never-wrong Wedle and now you've lost your grip.

now you've lost your grip

wrong idiom. I meant you have been lost in your arguments

You mean this:

When you have an appointment with them or any kind of transaction which involves a Pole when they realise they cannot keep their side of the bargain they lie their way out of it rather than tell the truth which is usually the best option.

It's called a "wishfull thinking". A person genuinly wants to believe that he/she will be on time/meet with the expectations/keep their side of bergain when in reality it's impossible. There are hardly bad intentions... maybe it's lying but rather a self-lying.

Well this thread has been gathering steam again.

whats your point?

Simply that as well as having a selective memory you are something of a hyprocrite. Only a few days ago in a bizarre mini outburst you said to me:

You did come here though - hammering Polish food, that was why you came here i remember, and you just kind of hung around since.

I told you you remembered wrongly - but heard no more about it. What you said was simply untrue, a lie.

Yet lo and behold, here you are, the author of a thread about how Polish people lie.

Funny, that.

Well i dont exactly follow you and your threads around but that was my first memory of you posting on here, ok it wasnt food but it was virtually all negative. My (short) Polish expereinces - bad luck?

Oih i may be many things but a hypocrite is not one of them.

Yet lo and behold, here you are, the author of a thread about how Polish people lie.

Judging by your thread after a few friggen days in Poland i dread to think what you might be capable of you actually lived there.

Sorry folks but the Poles are a Nation of liars.

They built a palace called "the Sejm building" to commemorate this status quo.

Please stop your diatribe a.k, you just don't want to see another point of view, you are now hiding behind Magda's skirt. I have provided plenty of information from other qualified sources, that indicate Poland has a problem with corruption, lying and cheating.

Corruption: Dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery. The action of making someone or something morally depraved or the state of being so

Lying: the deliberate act of deviating from the truth
Cheating: To act dishonestly

All three fall into the category of acting dishonestly, now if you prefer I will change my angle to, Dishonesty is rife in Poland.

Here is an example of a lie - Polish People are Idiots

The reason it is a lie.

IQ tests aren't perfect, but if independent IQ studies repeatedly determine that a country has one of the highest average intelligence quotients in Europe, and if you average a bunch of different national IQ tests together and that country does better than your own, it might be time to scale back all the submarine screen door jokes. Yes, Poland handed America its ass in the IQ department, and if Europe was a high school, Poland would be the resident nerd (which might explain why Germany and Russia made such a habit of taking her lunch money.

And I ask for the last time, because there is not much hope you will be able to answer: - what other country does not have the same problem? In other words, why are you so worked up over Poland as opposed to the rest of the world? It's like saying that some Polish women are prostitutes and you have a problem with that specifically. Of course some of them are. And so what? If you cannot stand the level of corruption in Poland, you can always leave, as you so very kindly suggested to me yourself, and be happier and contribute your hard work and taxes elsewhere.

Ok.

I have provided plenty of information from other qualified sources,

Nothing new in there. I've only asked you about your personal experience.

The problem is you foreigners like to point fingers on others when you are not really that better. An example is in the thread about that woman in the tram. Common stereotype says that Poles are racists... but just look on this thread, full of nasty remarks and sweeping generalizations towards miniorities by British people, who as a nation are world-widely recognised as very tolerant.

Here is an example of a lie - Polish People are Idiots

I'm sorry but I don't understand your sarcasm again.

Notice that I'm a foreigner for you and I don't know English to such an extend to understand your drift. Actually I have no idea what are you talking about in this extract so if you expect any reply please re-write it to a form which will be comprehensible to me.

Yep, it was negative alright. Only my impression after two visits - as I admitted. You will also notice that the tone of the thread wasn't exactly "hammering" anything. I was hoping my experience was down to bad luck/bad companions/whatever. I thought the thread was relatively diplomatic, considering. Apologetic even. A few well-known posters agreed with me too by the way. I notice you didn't have much in the way of contradiction yourself either.

Yet now you evidently have a problem with the thread - but yet see nothing wrong in starting a thread suggesting that Poles are a nation of liars.

Therefore, hyprocrisy on your part.
Wedle 16 | 496

about your personal experience.

a.k, what is the use of me giving any examples, all you are going to say is you don't understand Poland or you are not Polish. Standard excuse remarks.

what other country does not have the same problem?

Magda the same countries that have been told by both the EU and worldbank to stamp out corruption.

why are you so worked up over Poland as opposed to the rest of the world

We are debating Poland on this thread, if I started to bring up other countries I would be generalizing and non specific

It's like saying that some Polish women are prostitutes and you have a problem with that specifically

I would consider a prostitute of any nationality to have a lack of moral fibre.

If you cannot stand the level of corruption in Poland, you can always leave,

Corruption in Poland is an issue for the government to deal with, my only issue is people coming on this thread and trying to hoodwink us into the belief that dishonesty is not rife in Poland.
Magdalena 3 | 1,837

dishonesty is not rife in Poland.

Well I for one keep saying that if you want to convince me that it's "rife", then, well, you need to actually convince me. I'm not taking your word for it, and from my experience it's far from "rife". All this time, I'm begging you to give me facts instead of glib reports and opinions based on basically nothing. Show me the evidence (i.e. so called hard facts) and I will see the light. Otherwise, stop with the generalisations already.

No I won't. I think no one would dare to argue with you if you were cheated by a Pole. Besides that I ask just out of curiousity.

What about Polish IQ text. I really don't understand it. Could you explain in more simple words what you meant?

Forget it. He was trying to be nice to Poles for a change and paddled back with some positive example.

But Wedle was caught in his own trap … again; these are the numbers for google results for <corruption some-country>, as he advised:
Poland 24,900,000
Britain 46,200,000
Italy 55,500,000
France 108,000,000
Noooooo… :-)
Magdalena, you cannot convince a man, who once created a thread "Does your Polish partner suffer from disposophobia" based on his own singular experience with his wife's packrat behaviour.
