Poles close to grandparents

" There is no Grandmother's Day in America and as the eloquent and logical a.k., the Polish heroine of this thread, has pointed out: There is nothing communist about celebrating a day to honor one's grandparents."

There, of course, is actually a grandparents' day in the USA. And there is nothing Communist about having a day to honour one's grandparents. Having two days, however, is a Communist invention.

Grandparents looking after their grandchildren (and I don't mean babysitting) seems to be very common in Poland
