The dirtyness? Sorry, but I've travelled a lot around Europe and there's no
significant difference in "dirtyness" of Poland and western european countries.

It's a bit better but I still have this feeling when I'm coming to Sweden... "it's so CLEAN in here" and it's not baseless. Wealthier countries are indeed cleaner... It's not a SUCH big difference anymore but still a foreigner might get a heart attack after seeing the thawing aftermatch, one of my friends one said we're gonna drown in dog poop ; )

Well, it looks like London, Paris, Athens and Rome are the dirtiest cities in Europe...

Maybe if he's from Switzerland. If he's English, Irish or French there should be no heart attack :)

Poland still has top quality, ecological food products.

you mean onions and potatoes? :)

torq wrote, in response to a poster saying Polish people are "close minded":

Of course you are fluent in Polish and you had many meaningful conversations
that allowed you to objectively judge it,right? :-)

i know what you're getting at, but anyone who has spent a few years in Poland can get a feel for this fact, regardless of how well they speak Polish. considering Poland's history and dichotomy in general, where would a sense of open-mindedness come from?

my 2 cents worth:

1. post office, they keep loosing things i send, and i sell over the internet so it's a big deal.

2. lack of credit card payment terminals (biedronka, netto, restaurants many many places, post office)

3. i was gonna add the lack of decent sidewalks, poor roadsystem etc but i think all the dogshit lying around everywhere is worse.

1) If it's looser and lighter, you pay less ;)

2) I find debit works ;)

3) That's not dogshit ;) Sidewalks? How about the pavements? ;)

And when it melts, the pavements are awash with dog turds. Those snow piles in Warsaw always remind me of this:

They are treaturous, bitter minded people with a chip on the shoulder towards everyone.
They are pumped so full of ******** from parents and grandparents. And they are still what they are, Communist minded people, who should accept the fact that they will never be one of us, they are not from the known europe.

Communism was imposed on them, BBrown. They didn't really choose to be that way at all. Just like some colonies didn't want to be colonised by France and Britain.

Yes there were the exceptions. I can just imagine the natives: "Whew, thank goodness the white guys arrived! Things were getting a little out of control here."

Many seemed to have missed colonial times so much, that they moved to countries that colonized them.

i hate how when you order a pizza to your home/office and the delivery guy can't make any change. try paying for a 32zl pizza with a 50zl note or even 2-20's. :/

when businesses take advantage of you being a foreigner.

1. The "i,m alright Jack fcuk the rest of you" attitude most people have

2. (strange one this I know) The way people make big money from Death, its the only place I know where you can buy ice cream etc at a grave yard, and just as you go in there were grave stones on display with prices on them!

3. Drivers, come on someone send out teams of people to catch c**ts using their phones, their wages would be paid in the first hour.

I actually hate when people do make a phone call when I'm a passenger, on the other hand I do make phone calla from my car when I was in a hurry.. always using additional wireless headphone and a mike though...

Anyways, it's rude to answer with a question.. can you answer mine now when I have helped out your curiosity ; o?

The state of the roads.
Lack of motorways.
Rude people - however this is not just the Polish

Rude? My wife and I had a small argument about parking. I said that they should have a restriction in places due to obstruction of vision. She didn't want to know. Now sb is blocking her path to the alley where she needs to drive up to park. Now she wants to know, LOL ;) Many Poles are SOOOOO self-centred but such is the nature of people generally.

SO many ignorant and lazy peasants on the go. These people don't work, they just walk around and complain to any naive fool that will listen. Poland will NEVER be Germany, they are industrious and productive people. Germany moved on very quickly as they knew it was an Austrian that caused their problems. Not peasants who, when given a cause to complain, use it for the next 7 decades.
