I wish there was less corruption, hooligans

What is it with you people, constantly moaning about hooligans?

For your information, our hooligans are very educated and cultured people.
They even quote Horace on their banners!!!

So are many cheats and thieves, Torq ;)

Nothing quite like politicians though, they are a breed unto themselves. (esp British ones)

You can usually pick them out because of their greased back hair and dress, tight pants, especially around the crotch area, and they are constantly chasing the Polish girls around the stare miasto.

as a half Greek and Pole living in Greece, your wrong, please go get an education and stop generalizing by the few. I have seen Polish people with gel in their hair and wearing tight pants, but I don't say that all of them do, do I?

Oh an three things?

1. Postal Service
2. Postal Service
3. Postal Service

Yes I know what you mean, something left over from the commuism era! Not a pretty sight is it. Even the Polish will agree will this one, and the Jubilat ex-communist supermarket,if you have had the great experience of this one!

This country is too racist and the mentality is really bad I lived in Poland and it was hell for AFRICANS AND SURE IT STILL THE SAME.

POLES SHAME ON YOU SERIOUSLY EVEN IF YOU NEED TO SHOW YOUR RACISM SHOW IT IN AN INTELLIGENT WAY PLEASE.
Polish people wake up and move along the other EU countries and stop drinking only.

YOU ONLY DRINK AND COMPLAIN ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE AND OTHERS WHO ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOU.

I used to think the OLD generation is the problem but now its seems but young and old have this useless mentality from no where.

WAKE UP POLES WAKE UP.ITS TIME.................

- Siegfried,
Sadly its the case world-wide, maybe more or so in Poland. Entire US is built this way: bigger this bigger that, an endless chase. You're right about Israeli cough, cough Polish movies... and yes they are primitive form of entertainment world-wide as well. Dont give up, there is a lot of normal people as well.

YOU ONLY DRINK AND COMPLAIN ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE AND OTHERS WHO ARE DIFFERENT FROM YOU.

- If you don't like it so much maybe it makes a perfect sense to back to your other side of family tree? I hate to be the one who breaks it out to you, but nothing will change on that note.

I don't hate Poland. I think it is a nice country, nice people, nice weather in summer, good prices for visitors, nice scenery etc.

I don't hate Poland, but I hate the prices! My next trip to Poland is going to be my last for a very long time, maybe my last ever. It's just not worth the expense any more, really. Considering that my upcoming flight from Manchester to Hong Kong only cost me £95 more than my next flight to Poland, and the hotel prices are similar (and no, I'm not planning on staying at Chung King Mansions! lol), there's really not much point in travelling to Poland anymore, except to see family. And as they never come to see us, we just can't be bothered. So if it's a choice between visiting world-class locations for just a little more money, or going to a still-developing country like Poland, there's really no option in my opinion. Sorry, Poland... but that's globalisation and market forces for you! ;)

I don't hate Poland, but some things I hate about Poland are:

Old ladies in the station ticket office who shout (not say but shout) "Nie ma pociągu do X, w ogóle!" When the train you want is waiting 50 metres away. Likewise bus timetable websites that simply don't work. E-podroznik.pl, chief among them.

Frozen Chips (French Fries), even in restaurants!!! An entire nation who've forgotten how to slice potatoes.

People walking out of shop doors looking straight ahead, not noticing (or caring) if people are walking along the pavement.

Shop assistants who can't change a small banknote and don't even apologise about it.

Bars or restaurants with the toilet key kept behind the bar. Why?

Maybe all that will change with time, but I don't see that happening yet.

is it OK for 2 guys(friends) to sleep in the same bed when travelling? (cuz the hotel doesnt have a twin bed :o)

Not usually a problem - sharing rooms is normal here. If they look a bit put out that there are no twin beds, even the frumpiest hotel receptionist won't suspect immorality! :-))

As for me, I have come to love and respect Poland a lot more since moving abroad. Not that there is anything inherently wrong with other countries, but out of all the idiocies of the world I most prefer the idiocies I grew up with. Amen :-)

In that case, you have obviously moved to the wrong place! There is nothing for me in horrible Poland and the weather is horrible and everybody is dishonest. The Poles moan all the time about the Russians, even though the Russians did everything for little Poland. The Poles love complaining all the time and are a very jealous people. Under Communism they were never happy and everything was Churchill's fault. Now they are free all they want is free council houses in England. The German should stand trial for war crimes. Who gave them permission to bring down the wall. Ask me,I would make the Germans rebuild it-every last brick and stone. my beautiful country is now poisoned with Poles and I have never even been asked.

Don't you fret honey, I'm moving back to Poland soon. And not a moment too soon! I've taken your benefits, stolen your carp, eaten your swans, and lived in your council houses - NOT.

London has left me unimpressed, your museums are just full of the loot of centuries (which I think should largely be handed back to the rightful owners), you have destroyed most of your towns and cities architecture-wise (what's with the drab concrete bunkers-with-tiny-windows that constitute a major part of your "modern" architecture? Lots of them all over - central London and council estates alike), and there is not much good I could say about British fashion or cuisine.

I would love to travel and see the beauty of British nature, but I do not have the time to hunt for discounted rail tickets (I know there is a whole science to this!), and I cannot afford to pay the hugely inflated prices that are offered as "standard". So simply going to the station when the fancy takes me and buying a ticket to somewhere nice is not an option. I am fed up with the British feeling of superiority in all areas of life, which I find unjustified.

Rant over. You can start shooting now. ;-P

Time for you to move, you might even change this said state provided you pick right direction, I suggest Vladivostok. Perhaps Tuktoyaktuk.

In fact, you are right. We went through a lot of post war redevelopment where we had to rebuild major British cities very quickly. Poland did the same thing but for us it was unnessary because we had to help out the Poles who were simply unable to stand up to Hitler in 1939. Remember, Hitler did not want war with England, it was only the Eastern Question he wanted to involve himself with. A very sad state of affairs because we could and should have stood back and let him get on with it.

What has this got to do with Poland and this thread? Why not create your own called "It's my time of the month and i'm going to moan" or "i have a grudge/chip on my shoulder".
