Why is Orange Poland such a crappy / expensive network?

I happen not only to be an Orange customer and 0 problem and also work with them and 0 problem as well.

Orange being by far the no.1 among tel providers in Poland so not hard to conclude that most customers are satisfied ;)

If I hadn't been Orange customer until recently (there was no competition around, fortunately there is now) and if I hadn't been forced to deal with extremely lousy Orange's DSL at work I could even believe you.

According to UKE's "raport o stanie rynku telekomunikacyjnego" PTC (T-Mobile / Heyah) has more customers. Orange is second. They are the only network that still sells simlocked phones. Very customer "friendly" of them, I guess that and lousy competition when it comes to Internet access outside big cities can explain why they are (still) second.

@InPolska : Perhaps they are number one, but so far the customer service is the poorest i saw in my life. If i remove the fact, that i worked for "Broadband operator" in another country.

During 2 weeks, their call center called us for promotion, and in final , we waitted 10 days ... to get another phone call, to explain us, promotion was not anymore available .... i sent email, called ... over 30 phones call ... to get "case open" the next day i get a simple "Your case is close and we can not do nothing".

This is your way of telling -> ALL customers are happy ? I doubt really ... the fact is if you have no problem with Orange -> everything is ok.

I sent email either to escaladate ... i get a nice -> Dear Mr.xxx,
Thank you for your letter . We will do everything to slove this matter. ( solve ... they either not read email before reply ).
It would be very helpful if You write Us your telephone number which the service or your ID number (PESEL) which help us to verify the case in system .

Best Regards,

The next day i get a nice -> Case closed ... with ironic voice ... just to tell me again -> Game over ... we have no care about you !

If you have problem with Orange -> the path for fixing the problem will be LONG and painfull ...
I do not trust anymore Orange PL and now i wait really the end of contract, to check with all phone company ( fixed line, ADSL , mobile).

In 25 years as customer i never saw a so "we do not care .... " words from a company.
I will bypass too when you are in "Orange customer shop" how many time they wanted to sell me a phone already opened and either USED with SMS sent / received ... and many others issues ...

So actually i will try to find another service provider for all my service as well ( fixed line, mobile & ADSL ).

If they are by far no. 1 (in Poland), it has to be based upon something ;). PS: avoid their agency at Plac Konstitucji (if you are in Warsaw), they are overworked so they cannot spend much time with each Customer. Instead go to their agencies located for instance in shopping malls (they are most pleasant and most helpful).

Yes, it's based on them being the remains of the national monopoly.

I dont know, Ive been with them for 12 years. To begin with I was paying over 500 a month on calls, paying for every call and no internet. Now I pay 100 get free everything and a new Iphone every 2 years. But its probably the case with most networks now, deals are much the same just packaged differently.

@Polish; you sure have a better deal than I do.... Can you please tell me more about it? I pay 44.98zl per month: unlimited sms's, 2 hours of calls, and Internet (I don't remember what size but I only use the net on my tel to check my mails when I have no access to a computer). I have never had any problem with them but if I were to, I would contact the very big shots that I know at their headquarters ;

All operators offer a similar deal now. free calls/texts plus 2 - 5 gig internet, depends where you go. You can pay less if you dont take a phone, probably less than half the 100/m. I have to as I work my battery quite hard but you might not. But if you take a new phone every 2 years you'll pay around 100 a month and up front 800 to a grand for new iphone but you can always sell the old model for about that so you end up with a free phone evry couple of years. Ive timed my contract renewals for the end of the year so its give them time to get new models in (usually nov/dec while the germans get them oct).

@Polish: what the name of your (Orange) contract? Thanks

For sure not, if they can spend 10 call in 1 week to push promotion ... from their "sales offices" as i keep all phone history.

They for sure could spend more time with one customer to make and fill a custommer satisfaction.

When i explained that all phone call was recorded about the promotion ... So Orange record call when they need ?

Instead go to their agencies located for instance in shopping malls (they are most pleasant and most helpful).

=> I do and it was really a joke, they told me -> sorry you must open a case ... or call the custommer service to find an issue.

I do i think almost all what possible to find a nice issue, i get patient ... calm and ready for any proposition.

You know Rolling sub custommer is a fact for a provider, but loosing a 10 years custommer those are paying all bills in time with no glitch ... is a great miss ... because now all my friends who ask me how is Orange for Mobile/ADSL and all -> i told them ... no comment, my case has been a nightmare during 1 month and i get no support ...so Orange is ok if you have no trouble, if you need to start to call them to fix an issue , the nightmare start ... and the end of issue will be a NO GO -> Game over !

So does Orange is good => Yes until you have no problem with them because if you have any trouble, they do not care .. .and will kick you with a nice -> Sorry case is closed, we can not do nothing !

This is what we call "Orange Satisfaction" ... Et pour avoir utilser Orange France c'est le jour et la nuit !

Orange used to phone me up too, before I switched to Play.

Much better to use pre-paid anyway, as a rule. It costs me almost nothing and a 100zl top up lasts for months.

a 100zl top up lasts for months.

50zl twice would be much better for the Play account validity. So I only top up by 50pln - buying it on allegro for about 46.

I heard that the Orange phones are somehow worse than the same from other providers. Or maybe it's because the Orange is locking their phones to use exclusively on this network. Or both.

For business contract is the only way. Probably 5 or 6 times cheaper for me.

I had a business contract with a couple of dozen phones on, and never ever got full value from it. Also, I didn't like waiting for the phone they give you - it suits me personally just to buy one.

Thanks - I'll try that!

they ring you for renewal and you tell them the one you want - simple. Cant see how you dont get value. If you make a lot of calls it the way to go. You can get contracts all in for 40zl/m as long as you have your own phone. Free calls texts and a few gig of internet.

I paid more then 150 zl / month for Business sub ... i must renew soon ... of course since this bad behavour from them, i will think more then twice if i renew with them.

And if you buy any phone on Orange Shop ... be sure they open the box in front of you , two times ... phone were already used with old SMS from custommers ....

I will check for "Play" ... or any others providers.

Mine come by courier and I always open the box and sign the contract with him. If you think about it you get a new phone worth 2500/3000zl and pay 100/m for 2 years which you would do anyway as you have to make calls. It makes sense. The upfront fee for a top line phone is about a grand but you can always sell the old model for about that money if you keep it in good nick.

Most of the top end phones have non removal batteries, so won't hold a charge for too long after 2 years. Would you really want to pay top dollar for a second hand iphone that you'll have to charge 3 or 4 times a day?

Shhh, I have to charge my new one or twice a day. But no I dont get rid in quite that state as 3 or 4 times. Hey as long as the guy at the phone shop wants to buy it off me its no problem.

Phone is not really the problem, Service custommer is ... and if i want to buy a second hand mobile, ok ... but if a shop sell me a "new phone" ... once opened SMS has been already sent/received, we can not call it anymore "new" but refurbished !

But as i told, phone is not the main problem, but well the service offered or not offered, as here this is a major lack of service !

In regard of good phones I recommend Google Nexus 6 (not 6p) by Motorola. They're very cheap now and are fantastic. I got it the day it was released and use it for 1,5 a year. Awesome piece of a xda and it being 5.96" allowed me to get rid of tablet. Battery is still fine after the time I'm using it and even if the capacity is not the best on the market (it never was) it uses a qualcomm power charge technology. I charge my phone from 1%to 90%+ in less than 45 minutes. Another plus if the device is first in line with android updates and using pure, clean android without any bloatware forced on us by Samsung (touchwiz, is a nightmare). Seen it recently for less than 200 dollars.

PS. It has even now top notch hardware with 3gb ram and very fast quad core processing unit. :)

This is what i am doing since more 10 years ... this has nothing to do with beeing a "demanding" customer.

If bills are not paid .... they block service and this is normal.
