Any one in need of a bulldog? A dog's life in Poland

Never trust a man who wont take a drink, and have no truck with those who don't respect animals.

Respecting animals is why I absolutely hate hunters, unless the hunter is as naked, unarmed and starving as the animal he wants to kill.

In fact, as somebody already said, the more I know people, the more I like animals. It's the allocation of affection and attention between the American kids and the American pets that sucks.

If I ever wanted a dog, I would go to the shelter. Like my brother in law and his wife. After their two little pure breed dogs with big ears died, they went to the shelter and took a dog without a front paw because it was so sweetly miserable.

Yes, but like training my cat and dog to live together, a dog from the shelter needs a great deal of love, and not all of us can give that time. What I do not like is people who take dogs from a shelter and then do not give the animal the love and respect that it needs.

I would go to the shelter.

Before I got my lab, I brought home a dog from the shelter. We all went to see the dog in kennels, but when we brought the dog home, he would not let my young son go near him without growling and baring his teeth, something that had not been evident at the shelter.

We persevered with him, but the dog could not be trusted around my son, so regretfully, the dog had to go back. The problem with dogs from kennels is that often no-one knows the history of an animal that has been found as a stray for example. Maybe the dog we had wanted to give a home to had been mistreated, maybe by a child, or was only happy in adult company.

Anyway, we bought a chocolate lab as they have lovely temperaments and are renowned for being good with kids. Having said that, my lab was totally bonkers :)

Its possible to find a Bulldog breeder near Gdansk?

This site lists a French Bulldog breeder in GdaƄsk:

champdogs.co.uk/breeds/french-bulldog/breeders?start=all&ct=Poland

Or try this:

dog.pet2me.com/en/ad/searchgo/?category=1&city=1305&country=33

These dogs have many inherited health problems though so make sure you get the dog vet checked before buying. I'm sure you can Google other sites for info.

Yes, I am aware of it. My bro in law`s dog is also a little crazy - when he sees other dogs in the street, he goes nuts with baying and barking.

However, as I am usually lucky in life, I hope my choice would be such, too.

Of course, it is a purely hypothetical situation, I am not going to get a dog cause they smell bad and I love independent cats too much. They appreciate freedom just like me, while dogs are too servile which gets on my nerves. :)
