Hello. My name is Shadman kabir and i am from Bangladesh. I am planning to come to Poland to pursue my higher studies. I have heard a lot about Poland, its amazing culture and its fascinating medieval architecture is what attracted me the most. Moreover i also heard that its one of the most hospitable countries in the Europe region. Everyone is very much welcoming and helpful towards the newcomers. These things really fascinated me and helped me to make up my mind for moving to Poland. However my concern is that i am a Muslim by religion so all the above things that i mentioned, will it be any different in my case? I am really loving the idea about moving to Poland so could you all please put some light into the matter.

I'm in no way any expert as I'm a newcomer myself. But what really strikes is that you simply don't see many foreign looking people and especially Asian. For me everyone has been very welcoming and I don't think it has too much to do with that I'm a white European with zero local language skills. Normal people here are very friendly but some of them probably have seen different skin colour mostly on TV.

Alcohol is abundant but that you probably already know. (And I know drinking muslims, haha.) Do come here and don't be worried beforehand as there are idiots in any country. I've lived in a few countries in my life and people sometimes ask me how dare you. The answer is simple really, I can always be on the first flight back home if needed. So, no reason not to go.

It would be a lie to say you'll certainly have a great experience far from home but there's no reason why you wouldn't have. Come with an open mind and take it from there. Surely it'll be easy to make friends as a student compared to working life.

Dear Mr. Shadman Kabir,

I have been living in Poland since last three years and I am from Bangladesh. From my experience I can tell you that it is bit different here in lifestyle, foreign culture adoption compared with Western Europe. For example I am doing job as well as pursuing my PhD under funding from EU with the collaboration of Poland and the Netherlands. Unless your study fund is secured, it is not a wise idea to move to Poland. It is really difficult to find part time or full time job here as long as you don't know Polish. Regarding religious stuffs, there is a small community of Muslims in Poland. Of course, it is smaller compared with Germany or other European countries. I think all these information will help you.
