Importance of Religion in Poland

Torq

Archbishop Jędraszewski fired 3 female workers from his press office. The reason is they have children but are not married.

This is indefensible.

The Church (especially in Cracow) was always the first to help lonely women with children and widows, and now THIS happens? WTF? The fired women are all practising Catholics, and one of them adopted her child. Who said you can't be a lonely mother and a Catholic (or work for a Catholic organisation)?

I'm appalled. This is not Catholic, this is Taliban. Down with this kind of thing.

Saint Virgin Mary, Queen of Poland, was raising a child that wasn't her husband's. Good thing she didn't work for Archbishop Jędraszewski.

But firing unmarried prostitutes with kids and a couple of abortions would be?

Do you think it was a right decision?

Do you think is true? Since it is Wyborcza I be it is a lie. Given the fact that is that Bishop that had the guts to openly speaking about LGBT ideology and how nasty it is, that is a slander by the know hatful rag. For those who don't know it is like New York Times in the US or Guardian in the uk. Only more brazen and more low - if that possible.

----

On the theoretical issue of employment women who have children out of the wedlock to be a face of the Church. Wouldn't that be a hypocrisy? What Lenka don't you agree? At least that would clearly drawn a line. What is that you don't like now? Seems to me you are a hypocrite portending to care whilst you are anti-Church hater looking for a fault.

phew, in your opinion Torq, in your opinion. You know you are more oft wrong than right?

Do you think is true?

The Bishop issued a statement. Or do you think he's in it too?

On the theoretical issue of employment women who have children out of the wedlock to be a face of the Church

You missed the part where one of them doesn't have any kids, just doesn't have a husband and at least one of the other two adopted the kid and is a foster parent. What is sinful in that? And what hypocrisy?

Since it is Wyborcza I be it is a lie.

haha I quote Wyborcza to unnerve nationalists like you. However, you can find the news in all independent sources, too.

I thought the Church should be as merciful as Christ used to be. Probably I was wrong. Sorry. :):)

Sorry. :):)@ pawian

You should be. Although I don't expect you to know those things as you're a Soviet.

Is their own statement not good enough?

Would have posting of a non-leftie source killed you?

Would googling it kill you? I even told you were to look- they made freaking official statement.

I thought the Church should be as merciful as Christ used to be.

I wouldn't mention the two as even remotely comparable. Church is an incorporated business, responsible for its employees and liable for its actions civilly and the priests criminally. Jesus had no such responsibilities, family, or assets. It's very easy to be merciful where nothing is at risk.

The importance of religion in Poland has been dropping under PiS very quickly. It is illustrated not only by the ,mass desertion of young people from religion and faith. It is also shown by anti-Church demostrators/protesters who have become very radical and I suppose it is not the end but things will escalate. Protesters are doing things which were impossible a few years ago. E.g., a female organ instead of a holy symbol, Rainbow Madonna, kid shoes hanging on church gates, various mockery or parodies.

Is it just a reflection of changing times in general, i.e., the secularisation of Poland in Western Style or can we blame the Church and PiS for stirring certain negative anti-religious attitudes in the society? I don`t know, research should be done into that.

Described and illustrated here

PiS has nothing to do either with he Church or with religon. They use Catholic Church solely for their political purposes. If the Church in Poland is blind enough not to see it, that's their problem ...

They use Catholic Church solely for their political purposes

Yes, that`s what I meant by saying: or can we blame the Church and PiS for stirring certain negative anti-religious attitudes in the society? People are not blind and see what is going on. When the elder generation passes out, today`s youngsters as adults will reject the Church and we will have second Ireland or Spain. There will be still some believers, of course, but being religious will be old fashioned. All in all, pity.

Or am I mistaken? So correct me, anybody.

So correct me,

If some future political entity tries to persecute the church I think the population would rush to defend it... but the church has _vastly_ oversteppped the boundareis that most in Poland are comfortable with and so....

Yes, quite possible, but let`s remember that future political entity you are talking about will be elected in national ballot. It means that most voters will remain indifferent to what happens to the Church. And those few remaining ardent defenders will not take the upper hand.

Besides, persecution is too big a word. The Church and the state will be seperated, that`s all. Like it is written in the Constitution. :):)

The Church and the state will be seperated,

If the Church and state were really separated, the state wouldn't recognize its existence in the same manner the state does not recognize comedy clubs.

More of your ignorance. In Poland such a separation exist. WTF are you yapping about you idiot?

Yeah, remind me how long ago the Queen stopped to be Defender of the Faith with a state religion in the background?

People ask yourself why Nazism goes hand in hand with Vatican. Answer is simple. Germanics first, Poles last. I mean, Catholics by level of importance. When Catholic clergy of Poland violated this principle in WWII by insisting to be Polish patriotic, Nazi massacres of Polish priests occurred.

Let me paraphrase thoughts of this Estonian priest above > `In Germania I trust, Vatican is my guidance!`

Always with Nazis. Love is deep, interests are so connected > From time of Teutons to our time >

Are you referring to the rise of the Holy Roman Empire in Europe Crow ?

History is full of examples that Vatican don`t like Poles and prefer Germanics over Poles. At the same time, don`t get me wrong. Don`t think that I favor Orthodoxy or Protestantism over Catholicism. No, its same religion with technical details. To me truth is obvious. We Slavs are last in any option. Germanics, Italians, Greeks... all are above Slavs. See, same as Vatican hate Poles, Constantinople hate Serbs.

And yes, Vatican also hate Serbs but its hard to tell whom Vatican hates more, Poles or Serbs.

Are you referring to the rise of the Holy Roman Empire in Europe Crow ?

Vatican always play on Germanics. Why Poles pretend not to see that, I simple can`t understand.

Germans do have that Serbians self in themselves but I`m not one of those. I am of those Serbians who are 300% Polish.

Vatican don`t like Poles

It was (pre-JPII) more the other way round.
Crow 155 | 9,025

You say Vatican will now switch position and instead of support to Germanization, start to support re-Slavicization? Because one exclude the other.

I suppose they will start from Germany.

I wait to see that. Who knows. With our brat in Christ Francis everything is possible.

What the hell are you babbling on about now??

I didn't understand your post at all...... just drunken nonsense.

Too much nice spirits in Serbia..... ;-)

I don't touch spirits, except for Christmas.
I advise you do the same........

Please back on the topic, everyone

I support religion in its many forms because I don't see the down side. As long, of course, as the fanatics can't use me for bonfire the way they used.

That is no more inconsistent that smokers hating other smokers or drunks hating other drunks. Smart atheists, smokers, and drunks want to be a tiny minority.

Exactly. Fanatics are problem. They are like sleeper agents. Time comes and then some priest trigger them and they move like zombies, butchering. But behind those zombies are sane people with clear interests. Are they religious fanatics? No, they work with money and use religion as a tool.

Anyway, when Italian and Greek meets each others they say: ``Una faca, una rasa!``

Why for Slavs Catholicism-Orthodoxy needs to be reason for conflict? Somebody to make some money on us?

it's the eternal fight between the Barbarians (Orthodoxs or Russians/Serbs) and Civilization (Catholics or Poles)!!
