Getting pretty tired of the postal service here in Poland

There was no delivery here

Did it ever occur to you that someone else, at a different address even, could have fraudulently signed for the parcel? Maybe even the postman himself? If so, their signature is somewhere in the paperwork and they can be traced. If, on the other hand, nobody signed for the parcel and it's gone, Poczta Polska needs to check were the heck it is anyway. But for any of this to happen, you need to stop moaning about thieves and start pestering the only people who can help you - Poczta Polska employees at the appropriate post office. Have you even talked to them about this, or do you just gloat over your online delivery confirmations and do nothing?

Well, it's commonly known that Polish rails and postal services are still under communism...

I send three letters to my Polish penpal from out of Holland from wich the last two didn't arive... :/ I send letters to Finland, Taiwan, Japan, China etc. and they all arive perfectly on time even when I send them unregistered with the national post... Only the Polish postal system seems to give me trouble...

Gay letters are censored in Poland. Sorry. You are allowed to send only one a month.

Sorry to tell you this, I Poland they will steal anything heavier or bigger than an ordinary letter (unless it's registered post)... period :(

If I were you I would start charging registered posting or sipping by DPD or UPS... good luck

(unless it's registered post)

And there's your answer. I haven't had much problem with ordering things from Allegro and using regular post. But if you are sending items of any value between countries why would you not use registered post?

There is competitor of Poczta Polska - inpost.pl they only deliver letters to larger cities, but when that's the destination perhaps it's worth to consider this company. They are cheaper than Poczta Polska.

Hi everyone. I posted a box economic post from Poland while there to Australia. I was told it would take 2 months but now 2 1/2 months later still nothing. I stupidly lost my slip with I'm guessing a tracking number. Any advice on how long it will take, whether its likely stolen or how else to get my tracking number?

Merged: Registering for email notification of Poland Post Office registered letters?

Anyone know how to do this? Apparently, an addressee can register with Poland's Post Office (PP) to receive email or perhaps SMS alerts when there's a registered letter awaiting them at their local Post Office. A link and basic instructions would be appreciated.

Postal service here in Poland is a disaster, very rarely do I end up with my post. I have got to the stage where I have to tell people not to send me things by mail because I won't receive it. The problem now is that if I buy on Amazon something like a book it's a complete lottery if I'll ever actually get it. Complaining in Poland is a waste of time because it is never dealt with just the same thing again and again - "did you sent it by registered post? No, well that's the problem." Waiting for four weeks now for something and no sign of it, so the seller will have to send it again and that'll be a further four weeks again... It's so annoying...

Postal service here in Poland is a disaster

Where abouts do you live I have never had a problem here in Lower Silesia.

Well apart from the odd delivery driver who rings to ask if I can meet him in town because he is too lazy to drive to my village.

I use all sorts Ebay(UK), Amazon, Allegro, and the normal postal service.

When I buy things from eBay usually 1 in 4 parcels go missing when I used just the normal post office delivery service without signed for etc. Now I use only 'signed for' or I send the parcel to a friend in the UK who then sends it on via 'parcel monkey' if it's valuable. I don't tend to have low value items sent to me as it's then not cost effective to pay extra for signed for.

I just recently had a gift sent from the UK to Warsaw, 6 weeks no arrival. The sending party sent me a copy of receipt as all is itemised in the UK, I checked with the local Postal office, they could not provide me with any information. It was checked in the UK. The Post office informed they could track it all the way to Warsaw, then it gets lost in the wash. End result the UK post office refunded the postal costs, although the package went walk about in Warsaw. The UK post office informed it had become a common occurrence that packages go missing in Poland from the UK. Polska Poczta told us it was their first experience for a package to go missing.

Several items posted to Poland were not delivered. Have stopped. Simple letter took 2 weeks to be delivered from Ireland. I regularly receive post in Ireland from Canada in 3 to 4 days. I'm using a courier from now on.

Yup. There's still an awful lot of thieving in Poczta Polska. Basically unless you send things registered at either end it's a lottery and post to Ireland from Poland is not exactly cheap either if you want to send a parcel.

You are all lying. All that complaining is just to give Poland bad name. Nobody ever steals anything in Poland and the government employees are always helpful and smile when you approach them with your silly problems. None of you are probably even Polish.

I forgot to add: especially the government employees working in health care delivery.

You are all lying.

Of course, they are all lying. Only clowns like you can tell the truth on the PF. Amen to that and hallowed be thy name.

Back on topic please

Sent from U.S. to Poland. Belgium post brought to Poland on 17 Dec 2023. Today is 1 Jan 2024. Still not delivered. Universal Postal Union assumes authority and has absolutely no accountability.

Don't panic. I sent a priority parcel from GdaƄsk to Cincinnati recently - it took 18 days to arrive. Bloody priority parcel. *rolls eyes*

Never use pocztex! My Polish husband says that things they handle dissapear, never to be found again.. He swears by it that is the worst company you could possibly use.. On the other hand he recommends Inpost. ;D
