Elevators

There are elevators here. In shopping centres etc.

Yes, but not like the US. Our courthouse is getting a $900,000 upgrade to add a elevator for the 2nd floor! Have to love Americans wasting cash!

My flat is on the 4th story and there's no elevator. In the US i'm sure that's illegal! LOL

I forgot a HUGE miss! Sweet Corn!!!! Mmmmm Sweet Corn

That's actually what I miss about Poland lol, where I used to live/go in Poland there were corn cob vendors on the streets, I know for sure there are in Katowice

Or you can try the Taco Bell in Warsaw, they sell it as well, American style

It's just not the same here though. I had a friend come stay the summer from Chelm and she admits the Sweet Corn in the States just has a special little something that makes it's so yummy.

KFC here has corn and it's, well, corn. 1 more month and I'll be porking out on Sweet corn!

I had BBQ wings and was appauled. I invited everyone over for REAL BBQ wins and they were shocked. The BBQ here was deep fried chicken in a mustard-ish sauce.

Applebee's could make a KILLING here! #12 missing: Applebees Boneless Chicken Wings

So what Poland REALLY needs (instead of a US missile base) is . . .

Applebees Boneless Chicken Wings

. Starbucks

AND

Salt n' vinegar crisps

At least then we can all die from obesity and heart attacks instead of radiation poisioning. LOL

i too have asweet corn story. A few summers ago whilst on the beach in Debki whilst soaking up the rays and chillin' with a beer a couple of kids with a pinic hamper thingy waltzed up, with hot sweet corn wrapped in tin foil for sale. I duly brought a couple, if only because I was impressed that two kids were working hard to make some cash. And it got me to thinking, this sort of get up and go attitude doesn't seem prevelent amongst UK youth who seemingly would rather just mug each other than get up and try something. This summed up why Poland and Polish people with a little get up and go will do well in the UK and eventually at home. Viva Polska, Viva sweetcorn.

Salt n' vinegar crisps

Ahh yes, the strange English fascination with vinegar. They put vinegar on their chips, they eat vinegar crisps, you can even taste vinegar in their ketchup...... At first the sheer thought of combining crisps and vinegar was like a heresy for me... But God damnit it really works well together. :) I miss them here in Poland. But than again while in the UK I was missing paprika flavored crisps. I guess you can't have them all. :)

PS: The starbucks is comming to Poland soon.

The starbucks is comming to Poland soon.

Is it just me or do Starbucks market the only coffee free coffee in the world. You need the giant 10 litre bucket of Latte just to get one shot.

But than again while in the UK I was missing paprika flavored crisps.

We've got them. Yummy they are too

I really can't say, as I don't drink coffee. :)

Really? I only managed to found some German crap paprika crisps in Lidl and some strange Thai sweet paprika crisps in Sansberys. Eeek... Maybe I didn't look good enough though.

Paprika flavoured Pringles are common.

There are a few upmarket brands worth eating too (thinks crisps? upmarket?)

Ahh, I'm not a Pringles fan, so maybe that's why I missed them.

I agree! Those 3 show up in Poland and I'll be one happy American! Now, if we could get Polish beers, bread and chocolate in the states... I could be more excited about coming home.

its not that hard if you move to Poland from the UK, to get family or friends to send things over that you miss. I have just finished eating a lovely pack of McCoys chips.
