If this is going to be the case, then they're still going to need warehouses in the UK as distributing centres

They use Royal Mail and other distribution networks.

They use Royal mail and others for delivery, but have their own distribution centres, amazon.co.uk/b?ie=UTF8&node=2610312031 or as they call them 'Fulfilment Centres' similar to the ones in the USA

This sucks, I ordered every month from them and the free delivery was a big selling point. Their prices for delivery are stupid though and vary way too much. I wanted to order a game for £18 but delivery was a tenner, however when I checked a game that cost 25, the delivery was 4. They clearly make the cheaper stuff more expensive to send on purpose, they've lost me as a customer most likely.

Yes but this was a service they obviously could not sustain - Biedronka, Tesco, Carrefour etc make tiny margins in Poland - about 3%, and rent would normally be about 3-4% of their costs so there is no way someone is going to be able to sell the same stuff cheaper, shipping it from further away and still be profitable. At some point Amazon had to make this move.

Post to Poland cheaper than before - the Amazon web-site isn't clear about the reduction.

Can somebody please help in answering by how much they have lowered their international postal charges? I don't think it makes them competitive again though for bulkier items.

I heard they will open a Polish delivery center? Can anyone confirm?

It's actually cheaper with Amazon to save your purchases up in bulk, get them mailed at around the same time to a UK address, then pop over on Ryanair. Even with Ryanair's hidden costs etc, its actually cheaper than getting them mailed to Poland.
