You have a very narrow musical mind and no taste at all.
I can only conclude you've never spent any time in Poland if you don't know that this genre of music is by far the most popular there. It's inescapable.
Rest assured, this isn't MY taste. It's the taste of 90% of the Polish population.
I can only conclude you've never spent any time in Poland if you don't know that..
I am well aware of the popularity of this $h1t music in Poland. But you are ignoring all the positive stuff and only pushing the negative narrative. Why would anyone do that?
anyway you've missed the point.
Did I? I think I got your point and you were basically right. Anyway, nice to know there is at least one person on PF that knows REAL Polish music and has superb taste!
Not necessarily vinyl ones, MP3 nowadays; get with the groove, baby.
Back in cassette days DP sold more than the critics' darlings,
Maybe cost had a role.
DP does still fill small town concerts and of course there's several obscure TV channels however the sheer number of recordings in any given year doesn't mach the economics of it.
Those that like it mostly do so ironically.
Some for sure, however a lot of fans not.
The videos are often interesting to watch; more and more are filmed in a beach in Spain whereas a couple of decades or so, it was nice cars and shiny new houses in villages.
According to a research project titled "Dystynkcje muzyczne. Gust muzyczny i stratyfikacja społeczna a procesy kształtowania się stylów życia Polaków" the Disco Polo genre is popular among 30% of Poles (mainly among people living in the countryside, but also among the blue collar people):
Meaning? The genres? Some examples of songs? Wedding party videos? I've never been at a wedding party abroad, so I'm curious 🤔
I'm surprised it's that many
I'm not surprised at all considering it's mainly popular in the countryside and among the blue collar people.
it's not hard to listen to and easy to dance to.
Yes, that's why it's often played at wedding parties. It's similar to "piosenki biesiadne" which are also often played at wedding parties in the countryside. I think this type of music is similar to and reminds people of folk songs that were played at wedding parties in the countryside in the past. Simple melodies, simple lyrics about love and such that were/are good for dancing.
Btw, many people may dance to such songs at wedding parties (since they don't have much choice lol), but that doesn't mean they are listening to this kind of music at home.
Anything that people from the happy couple's friends to their old aunties like. Standards that everyone knows and can dance to. There will almost always be Abba unless requested otherwise. People like to have a band if they can afford it, and it's basically all the old favourites.
I've never been at a wedding party abroad, so I'm curious
Like me about Polish weddings, since every one I've been to has been older people on their second marriage so the party afterwards is less traditional.
It's similar to "piosenki biesiadne" which are also often played at weddings in the countryside.
In the UK that's more in Scotland where they have their favorites and traditional dances.
There isn't an equivalent of that "O I have wonderful parents" song; it's more middle of the road things from the past 60 years that you can dance to after a couple of drinks. Like some of the better known Polish songs, or German schlager music. It has to be undemanding, upbeat, happy and uncontroversial.
The story about a trainee Indian doctor making a scantily clad AI creation who loves guns, Jesus and Maga and makes a fortune from morons by selling them Maga merch makes more sense. He plans to use the money to move to the US.
@Miloslaw The story is quite funny, a trainee doctor was looking to mak3 money so created a young woman's image via AI and in the good capitalist tradition decided to monetise it. Onlyfans was crowded with real people selling pictures so he decided to turn "her" into a Maga w@nk posting about god, guns, ice fishing, trucks etc. he sells right wing t shirts via his fake influencer's website. It's incredible how stupid people love being stoked by stuff they love. What is missing is a Che Guevara influencer posting about migrants being successful like a lot of the last Tory cabinet.
Anyway check out the story here... wired.com/story/ai-generated-maga-girls/
It appears that you have the attention span of a goldfish
You likewise..... HaHaHaHa!
Anyway, back to the music, this is quite nice....
A very famous Polish band, at least in Poland.
I know,I said that I would try to avoid the Heavy Stuff, because most of you don't like it, and I totally failed!Maybe I can redeem myself with this post;
Celtic music is HUGE in Poland so I'll end with my posts with an old favourite of mine...remember this is a POLISH band!
Sadly, I have to say that this song sums up Poland for me.Poland has made huge progress and has become a great country, but don't forget your people that are hard done by.
