Gdynia, Lodz, Lublin, Rzeszow for expats?

Which of these would be better for finding a job in entertainment or the creative fields? Not interested in corporate jobs unless they're part time. ;) And which is safer/more beautiful etc.?

Łódź definitely the least beautiful. No 1 - Lublin with its Old Town.

Isn't Rzeszow less beautiful though, or at least duller?

Łódź definitely the least beautiful.

Łódż has its own atmosphere; a late C19th planned city on a grid pattern.

Also very popular with filmmakers; David Lynch has talked about its unique and special feeling, plus of course there's the famous film school and studios. Good theatre there too.

Gdynia is at least handy for Gdańsk. The other two are country towns; may as well be in Lincolnshire in terms of attitude and much more...

You can be right but for me Łódź is quite depressing coz it is so modern as only from 19th century. I need the medieval urban pattern to feel happy in the city. :)

So I take it the entertainment industries are not only based in Warsaw unlike the case in the UK and many other EU countries like Bulgaria and Hungary where every job is in the capital?

In the UK, the entertainment industries certainly aren't all in the capital/s like London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, though obviously larger cities have much more in them. Hence Lublin, Rzeszów being non-starters and Gdynia (though it's really a satellite of Gdańsk) having fewer opportunities than Warsaw, Łódź etc. The more people, the more opportunities as a rule.

You don't really specify what you mean by 'entertainment industry'. Theatre, filming, classical music, ballet, cabaret, wedding singers, opera, pop music, TV work, badger-baiting, pavement art, living statues, striptease or pub comedians? It's a broad term...

I mean pop/rock singing, filming and commercial modeling (which is modeling for catalogs, car brochures, billboard and TV commercials).

Most agencies are in Warsaw, and the people who do it are either based there or travel in, however there is certainly some extra work in Łódż. Forget Poznań, it's a closed shop to outsiders.

Even ones living there?

And what about the pop music recording industry? Is Wawa the only place for that? No offence, but I prefer Lodz to Wawa.

Poznań? Yes,

Not too far to travel between them. The industry is very small here though.

Oh not good to hear that as my favorite places in Poland are not very big except Trojmiasto and Lodz...

Are you interested in living longer? Than choose Gdynia which, located on the coast, has the lowest pollution levels of all 4.
