"Spartacus" has better battle scenes and great sequences of duels.
You need to change your thread title for more appropriate - ' Polish films today emulates Hollywood arrangement from 1970'

Sorry, you got your dates a bit confused. Never mind.:):)

Watch another one:

The Deluge, another historical story from 17 century: love, fights, battles. Usual stuff from the period.

another historical story from 17 century: love, fights, battles. Usual stuff from the period.

Well, this time a slight difference: love, fights, battles. Usual stuff from the period.
But from 15 century:

TEUTONIC KNIGHTS!

Love, fights, battles, escapes. How I started II 2 WW from late 1960s.

Love, fights, battles, escapes.

1920 - Battle of Warsaw

Famous political/crime thriller about ex-communist secret police in capitalist reality:
Dogs:

4 Tank crew and a dog, 1960s war film for younger audience.

The Witcher from 2001:

Videos with popular topics remain visible for days. Example - Witcher above. Less popular ones disappear after a few hours. Funny.

TEUTONIC KNIGHTS!

God knows I tried to watch Polish Netflix productions. Unwatchable crap with ugly actors of both sexes and incomprehensible language - spoken sloppily and way too fast for the situations - not just me.

@Novichok
Why don't u watch it with subtitles then? The HBO Europe and Canal+ productions are great. if you want can send you links where u can watch.

I tried that. Unfortunately, the subtitles are produced by morons who never read them and disappear too soon.

Then there is the Polish language...I find it acoustically offensive. I mean it's a painful experience to listen to it so I turned the sound off. Eventually, I just stopped the whole thing.

I will try again when Poles discover ty, drop Prosza Pana and Prosze Pani, and all the words with szcz.

Isn't that weird since everybody else likes watching ugly men. Especially as leads. Dustin Hoffman dancing with Grace Kelly. Or Tony DeVito in bed with Rachuel Welch. How exciting...

Yes, they are much more interesting and funnier to watch. E.g, this duo was known to every Polish person since 1970.

One of the greatest scenes in Polish movie history... my favorite part is the smoking woman next to Himilsbach, deadpan perfection.

The one on the left said: "I know we are ugly fu*cks but pawian and others like him will watch this sh*it anyway."

The one on the right said: Really think so? I doubt it. But for sure not Novichok.

others like him will watch this sh*it anyway.

It isn`t s..t, it is an amazing documentary, filmed in beautiful circumstances of nature.

It isn`t s..t

Hey, don't argue with me. That's what that handsome dude on the left said.

filmed in beautiful circumstances of nature.

Now please explain to me why they used these faces in a movie about the beauty of nature. For contrast?

don't argue with me.

I swear by God I would like to but I can`t resist. :):)

why they used these faces in a movie

Because they were beautiful inside: minds, souls, hearts etc and their pitiful external features didn`t matter.

I have a simple rule...If I don't see a dead or drop-dead gorgeous body in the first 10 minutes, the movie is history. For an ugly face, I have a mirror and it's free.

Lol I love how they show the genius of Polish soldiers at work when the mud defeated their great cavalrly. they got crushed by the mud trying to charge their enemies across it and died.

Sir Thaddeus, an epic story by Adam Mickiewicz, the greatest Polish poet, about Polish gentry in Lithuania during Napoleonic times.

Clan is a popular soap which has been going since 1990s, I suppose. I can`t say for sure coz I don`t watch TV, especially soaps. But this Clan stuff is very violent - I stay away from such flicks coz they add aditional stress to my life.

4 Tank crew and a dog, 1960s war film for younger audience

The link from 2013 got lost so here you are again:

The one on the left said: "I know we are ugly fu*cks but pawian and others like him will watch this sh*it anyway."

No. Actually, one of them gave a famous monologue about the Polish cinema:

And in Polish film, sir, it is like this: boredom... Nothing happens, sir. Nothing. . Yes, sir... Dialogues are not good... Dialogues are very bad. There is no action at all. Nothing happens.

And the Polish actor, sir ... This is emptiness ... Emptiness, sir ... Nothing! Absolutely nothing.
I saw a scene like this once ... For example, I know? For example, he lights a cigarette, right? Sir, he lights a cigarette ... And, sir, he looks like this: to the right ... Then he looks to the left ... Straight ... And nothing ... . It's long ... just long ... long, sir. ...

Sir, I am sitting, sir, in the cinema ... You understand ... And so I look at myself ... I am sitting in the cinema, sir ... Normally ... I look, I look at it ... And I want to leave ... the cinema, sir ... and I'm leaving ...

And sir, who pays for it? You pay, your missus pays, we pay. This is our money, sir. Society`s.

Both of those actors were regularly drunk on the set.

Rancho, a popular soap opera:

Zmiennicy - Taxi Drivers, a cult comedy series from 1980s, showed a lot of absurds of the communist system.

Legions (Legiony) is a film about Polish soldiers who fought against tsarist Russians for independent Poland during WW1.

The Crown of Kings, a ridiculous historical TV series made by rightist PiS television a few years ago.

In Hollywood arrangement sounds much better. The Polish subs are an amasing joke.

He's a great director let's hope he makes a movie shot or set in Poland soon :)

"Darren Aronofsky, the acclaimed American director known for his films such as "Black Swan," "Requiem for a Dream," and "The Fountain," has officially obtained Polish citizenship."

"Aronofsky has maintained a longstanding connection with Poland. Years ago, he directed a commercial for Belvedere Vodka near Wrocław and has been a frequent guest at the Camerimage Film Festival, a prestigious event celebrating the art of cinematography held annually in Poland. These ties are expected to deepen following his acquisition of Polish citizenship.

I enjoy old Polish films made during the socialist era. If you lived in that society, you could often catch the hidden irony and subtle messages in them. It was as if everyone recognized the parody of socialism, but since it was forbidden to speak about it openly, people - especially filmmakers - found creative ways to reveal the absurdity of life in those times.

I do too.
Early Wajda and Polanski rank among the greatest post-War European cinema!
