I know that I said that I would no longer post to this thread because of the opposition to it.
But I can't resist, because there is just so much good Polish music out there.
Here are a few I like.

This is one of the better threads Ive seen on PF

I like the last band Black Bread, some cool guitar chops! Ive seen Budka Suflera here in Chicago, all the girls were singing and dancing:)

Three superb posts Ironside.
One of the reasons I tried to promote this thread, and failed, was because I think music can be more powerful than words.
You have proved to me, in your posts, that you are a true Polish patriot.
And despite some of the negative comments you sometimes get on PF, I will support you in the future.
Great to see a true, patriotic Pole on here!

Loved the first two tracks, thanks for posting those Iron :)

I tried to promote this thread, and failed,

Not sure failed is the right word. I agree it's annoying when links are removed and we have to copy/paste to listen to the tracks, but I think it's more that there aren't enough people who are interested in contributing or that know enough about Polish music. I contributed a lot to this thread years ago, and other such threads which have come and gone, but that was in the times when the forum was much busier than it is now.

I am sure you are right.

@Ironside

Some more great posts.
Loved Janusz Radek and Kuba Jurzyk.
Magda Maciejec was OK.
But the other song was not to my taste really.
Thanks for the posts, much appreciated.

@Chemikiem

Thanks Pam, I really enjoyed all your posts.
I have something different tonight.
Kotki Dwa were a band made up of two of my first cousins sons.
Alex and Tristan, they are the clean shaven ones in the band and are second generation Poles.
Their grandmother, my aunt, used to sing them the song "Kotki Dwa" when they were toddlers.
The band is no more, they very nearly made it, but not quite.
They both now have successful careers outside of the music business.
But here are three videos, from two young Anglo Poles that show their Polish roots.

Were there any teen-age singers in the PRL days?

What are the Polish versions/equivalents of:

1. One Direction
2. Britney Spears/Kylie Minogue (Doda?)
3. The Beatles
4. Madonna

It's not my type of music Milo, but fair play to them, they did well. You must be proud :)

Another one;

Yep, liked that one Iron :)

.. Czerwonne Guitary.

A friend in the US had the album with this song (and lyrics). It was the first thing that made me interested in the Polish language....

Great post Iron, The French and The Poles are very different, but they do share some qualities.
This style of Pop music is one of them.
Now a Polish band.....

I have said before that I am not a huge fan of Classical music, but the way Maria Ponianowska has revitalised tunes by Chopin and Maniuszko, using instruments and styles from outside Poland in an attempt to bring Polish Classical Music to a wider, global audience is both admirable and enchanting.

Reminds me a little of street-clothes, updated staging of Shakespeare in order to make it more "relevant" to today's youth:-)

I will fully understand if some of you think she has "overstepped the mark" with this one, but I think it is great music, pushing the boundaries and bringing Maniuszko's music to a global audience that have never heard of him before.

I am not a huge fan of Classical music,

With the exception of a few pieces, me too, but I did like both of those songs. Having said that neither sound like they were originally classical pieces.

Maniuszko

Moniuszko :)

Before I start these posts, can I just ask the mods to at least consider allowing these embeded videos to stay up.
At least on music threads.
I really cannot remember what videos I have posted without being able to see them. You may use the search (in messages) function

So apologies to all if I am repeating my posts.
youtu.be/4FAsqZs8XMY

Reggae Music and Ska are quite popular in Poland.
But I have no idea why....
youtu.be/C8bOyCq0OXw

Because or PF's policy of changing embeded videos into links, it is very hard for me to know if I have posted any of these videos before.

So if I have, I apologise.

Amazing voice, incredible ballad.
