I bet they often covered hits in the PRL timesNot really a thing to any significant degree....It was common in Czechoslovakia but not so much in Poland where performers were much more likely to try to sing in the language of the original (with decidedly.... mixed results).To the extent it was a thing in Poland it would usually be a Polish language version of a song not well known in Poland. IIRC one hit by Stachursky (Typ niepokorny?) was a cover of an American country song (I want to say by Kenny Chesney).It also happens for songs in Disney movies of course.
