Ska are quite popular in Poland.

Ska???? Wasn't that kind of music popular some 30+ years ago? I remember Ska Punk and Acid Ska for example.

I'll end with this one.
I know this is a Slowak band and not a Polish one.
But this is this is the tale of so many aspiring east european musicians who ended up as warehouse workers in Britain, so sad......
Even if you only know Polish, you will still understand the chorus.....

A few older ones here that I quite like:

I loved them all!
Thank you for posting.
I especially liked the first Republika song you posted and both SDM tunes.
Your posts suggest that you are a bit younger than me, or have more modern tastes.
I have a broad taste in music and only really hate Opera and some of the newer genres of Rap etc.
But I am an old school, long haired, (though short haired now :-) ),denim and leather Rock, Blues and Folk fan.
You have inspired me to post more songs on here, so, if I find the time, maybe I will.

Because of the way PF is organised, I can't remember what I have posted here before.
So please excuse me if I am repeating myself.
Having said that, these posts are linked back to my long haired, denim and leather youth.... :-)

And I love the American car, from a time when Yanks knew how to build amazing cars.....]

Here is some nice old classic Polish Blues....]

Last one tonight.]

The second one from Kasa Chorych is quite interesting. Sounds like a somewhat crude mixture of East of Eden and the Dutch bands Focus and Livin' Blues.
12 Oct 2019 #276
Rock, Blues and Folk fan.

Sounds pretty much like me to be honest, I have pretty diverse tastes in music. If you like Polish folk music, have a look at this article I was reading a few days ago. You might find something you like:

I really liked the first Kasa Chorych song :) The guitar riffs on the last song reminded me very much of Santana to be honest. I liked that one too.

I did, thanks and here a a few more Polish tunes I love.

Here is another one......

Now, this isn't really my kind of music, but I am strangely attracted to his voice and his band are unbelievable.....especially in the way they are using different rythmns.

My last post tonight..... enjoy......

@ Iron, thanks for those, I liked both of them :)

@Milo, I really liked the Organek one, and Kortez can do no wrong in my book, I would so love to go and see him live. Maybe one day!

Organek is a real talent but Kortez is right out there..... if he sang in English he could be huge.

Talking about Kortez (and others) I love Męskie granie especially Początek from 2018- both the song and the video. The lyrics are great, too

And there's 2019 with Organek

Again great lyrics and Nosowska
As for Nosowska and Hey I love their version of Arahja

Sorry if I posted anything already posted here - just can't see the previous videos.

As a "Rocker" i found your first two videos a bit "Poppy" but enjoyed them anyway.
Polish popular music is really good right now isn't it?
Your last video was really good.

Sorry if I posted anything already posted here

I don't think you did, but this is a problem on this thread.
Pawian explained that this may be due to this sites "logarithms" but if the owner or mods are reading this,
Is there no way you could exempt this thread from having hotlinks deleted?
I am sure that if you could do it, many more of us would post more Polish music on here.

The only reason I did not comment on your posts was that both of them came up with a 404 warning :-(
I have no idea why.
14 Oct 2019 #283

Thanks for this, I hadn't heard it before and I loved it!! Now downloaded onto phone :) Also liked the Organek one. This is what's great about a thread like this, discovering new music:)

I'm really not sure why the links are disabled because it would definitely make it easier to remember what's been posted. I do know that with time some links get broken because I remember admin painstakingly having to remove them all years ago. A while back you posted some tradtional style music I really liked, can't remember if it was muzyka góralska or not, but the prospect of searching through 10 pages of a thread is a bit daunting :(

both of them came up with a 404 warning :-(

That initially happened to me too after I copied/pasted link into address bar. I then went to Youtube site and copied them in and they worked.

Thanks Pam!
And thanks Ironside for two very enjoyable and very Polish tunes!

I really like the video for 'Początek', as simple as it may seem making it must have been really difficult as it's made with one camera shot.

As for folk music I posted here, I know I posted some videos of Gooral performing with Mazowsze at Woodstock festival. As incredible as the idea seems, the audience loved Mazowsze.

W moim ogrodeczku

Love the violinist :)

I like such an approach to traditional music as it basically introduces young people to folk music.
Gooral, Tulia or others (I read the article you posted here -a really good one ) are doing a great job.

Love those posts!
Works for me too.

Love Red Lips.
She has a voice too.

I like this thread.
We dont get any of the right wing or left wing extremists on here.
No politics.
Just good music.

Just one post from me tonight.
I adore this tune because it shows our Polish love for horses.
16 Oct 2019 #290
making it must have been really difficult

Don't know if you've seen the making of it:

But yeah, I really like the video. I just love the song, their voices perfectly complement each other.

Gooral performing with Mazowsze at Woodstock festival.

Yes!! This is what you posted before and I love this music. Thanks for that. I need a trip to Poland for the festivals I think!

Another article on Polish folk music including Mazowsze:

@ Milo, good song, I do like Goya. I particularly like her version of the old Dwa plus Jeden song, Chodź, pomaluj mój świat:

A couple of songs I like from Tulia, but to be honest I really like the videos, they just look great visually.

To round it all off, my favourite Kortez song:

I just love the making of it! I haven't seen it before.

I like Tulia's videos, too. Plus the sound - I think it's called biały śpiew. The song I like the least is their Eurovision entry.

I visited their channel recently and apparently they recorded a song with Kasia Kowalska. Personally I like the song most when Kasia actually joins in- but I've listened to it once only. Just a graphic video.

As for new approach to folk music, one of the classics is Piejo kury piejo

I loved that!
The mix of Polish music with international music just works for me.

Kortez can do no wrong by me, one of my favourites too.
As for Tulia, I love them too.
Metallica is probably a bit too heavy for both you and Kaprys but this Tulia cover of one of their greatest songs just kills me.....

Piejo kury piejo

I loved this too! Bizarre in a way but a great video and mix of musical styles.

I've listened to it once only.

This one? I quite like it.

Metallica is probably a bit too heavy for both you and Kaprys

I'm pretty sure kaprys is a fan as we were talking about them singing Dżem's Wehikuł Czasu and Sen o Warszawie on a different thread. I like them but I'm more a Led Zep and Motorhead fan :) I liked that Tulia cover too :)

Led Zep I get, but am surprised that you like Motorhead.
This forum does throw up surprises.
I loved them too.

Milo, here's an interesting Polish oddity for you ;) Pathfinder are excellent, but this cover is just fantastically surreal.

And just to ramp up the oddness, I found this a few days ago: - it's incredibly hard to describe, like a kind of bizzare Polish black folk metal? It's worth a watch, just because it doesn't actually fit easily into any genre.

I don't know about you, but I build up a picture in my mind of the characters behind the anonymous posters on this forum.

I had you down as a sensible, intelligent, middle aged woman with a liberal political stance.
Now you tell me you like Motorhead!!!!!
And my head explodes..... LOL!!!

I loved them both mate.
But I am an old Metal Head.......

But I am an old Metal Head.......

I'll dig up some more for you, but it always surprised me that Poland never had that much of a metal scene. Magnus were huge though - - but I don't like them.

Back in the days of the PRL, an ACDC vinyl would cost almost as much as a month's salary. Around 2k zloty. Atleast that's what I heard from people who lived during prl.

Poland was fortunate though to have far less censorship towards western things than Russia and even e germany

It's worth a watch,

Strangely hypnotic.......I quite liked it!

Now you tell me you like Motorhead!!!!!

I like a lot of metal bands :) You shouldn't stereotype people Milo ;)

@Spike31, I really liked that track :)
