Why are Polish so conservative and religious?

Your neighbour supports himself as a shoplifter and pickpocket. Do you meet up with him for a beer and chat amicably creating the impression that you approve of his conduct

You lead by example. I have had personal experience in my own life of this. By giving a quiet example of goodness, kindness, compassion and truth you gently influence those around you. I am a very ordinary person, nothing special, but through prayer, asking God's help, and a gentle and kind approach to others who are suffering, I have managed to bring one person back who had totally lost their faith in God and bring another person who had never had any faith, into belief in the existence of God. You talk to people, you listen, you show sympathy, empathy and understanding and you show them by example that there is an alternative to the choice they mare making. People are inherently good and the Godhead as the Hare Krishnas call it, is never extinguished in any of us. Nobody is beyond redemption.

I agree what you describe is close to the Franciscan ideal. But how does one approach an unrepenting sinner who rejects God and pours scorn on believers? How do you persuade unmarrieds or homosexuals living in sin to clean up their act? They might laugh you out of the room. You can talk till you're blue in the face without changing a bloody thing.

Mike you seem hurt that they actually believe in something other than money and greed and self.

that is probably the simple answer for you. Just because the elite media pushes an agenda and influence behavior in USA doesn't mean that same elite is sending the same message somewhere else in the world.

Let's back to Poland on this thread, ok?

Sorry Mods, agree this thread has gone astray. Polonius has introduced 'sodomy' into it yet again!! Would appreciate it if you would just let me answer him briefly and then that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned.

You don't. Whatever some Christians think it says in the Bible etc homosexuals are human beings with the same right to happiness and love as any other person. It's inhuman to expect them to live a life of isolation and celibacy. As for people who 'live in sin' lots of them get married after a few years of their own accord anyway. Often their children attend the wedding!!

Now, I've had it up to the back teeth with talking about Gays and God, so that's my last word on the subject.
