Best Polish production TV show

I am looking to download some Polish tv shows to improve my fluency, just wanting to know what the best series are that are somewhat new, no older than 2002 ish. In america I like shows like

breaking bad
entourage
big bang theory etc

those are all clever, edgey (entourage) shows. I don't think Polish fare can compare. If you like detective/crime shows "Ojciec Mateusz" is good. Plus the setting is in the lovely town of Sandomierz. The others I have seen (Blondynka, Barwy Ścięścia) are more like novellas. Another one I sorta liked was "Czas Honoru" set in WW2. It deals with the resistance in Nazi-occupied Poland. I'll tell you one thing, watching these shows helped me a lot. Good luck.

I'm biased, but I gotta recommend Licencja na wychowanie. My wife co-directed it and our good friend Dominika H wrote it. Very watchable.

Comedy, surreal and ridiculous at times, a well-known classic. Try to watch with subtitles so you can see the Polish words as they are spoken.

If there is any watchable polish TV show, it should be 13 Posterunek (comedy). However, none of our productions even match to those listed by md11.

check out ekstradycja , a great series about police officer trying to take out a drug kingpin and related corruption from his own ranks. Produced in the nineties, it was a nice commentry on the social ills that came with the shock therapy of capitalism. On torrent most episodes have english subtitles. Was a seminal series.

The best one is 'Spadkobiercy' - if you can understand it, you will pee yourself laughing.

I still wish that they had made more series, but they probably ended it at its peak (which is the best way to go).
I have the whole series on DVD, fortunately.

Something for everyone who likes cop/crime drama - gun-totin' cops, SWAT teams, car chases, evil gangsters who look like Warsaw cabbies, unusual and bizarre crimes, hot Polish women (including the kind of Polish women a lot of PF members love to hate, lol), and shows a side of Poland which the average visitor will never see. It's a Polish "CSI", I suppose.

But I have no taste in TV anyway (I watch stuff like "Ukryta Prawda" and "Sędzia Anna Maria Wesołowska" ffs lol) so I'll leave it up to you, haha.

Most stuff on Polish TV is crap. It is usually musical talent shows and tv series from other countries made in to Polish one. You see the same faces all over in various TV series. I swear Malgorzata Korzuchowska plays in like 3 of 4 Polish soaps, a different character in every one of them.

Spadkobiercy as terri says is funny. One of the few decent shows. It is basically like a mock of a typical American soap opera [like Bold and the Beautiful] but there is no script. It is improvised. There is a general story but the characters have to make up the script as they go along. It is quite funny.

Really? I have yet to find a Polish comedy that makes me laugh. I'll have to check this one out.

Rybnik do check it out. I also find very little on to be funny on Polish television. Most of the Polish kabarety just do not make me laugh [with the exception of the off 1 or 2] but this show is funny, most of the time.
