Weapons laws in Poland. Carrying a concealed handgun?

The rest of Europe must be uncivilized then because gun crime

Gun crime is lower in Europe; one reason there's no call in Poland (or elsewhere) for looser gun ownership.

The million people who came out in Washington today, and the crowds elsewhere show that people over there are beginning to see sense too.

Syria has maybe 1 year left

Some are predicting another 5 years of fighting.

On topic, Is there any calls for, or sugguestions, that Polands firearms laws should or will be changed?

Yes Kukiz suggested a relaxation of the laws. PiS said they would not support it. This all happened the day before the Las Vegas thing.

I've mentioned numerous times on this forum that all these gun deaths are the end result of all the underlying problems that the US has which aren't being addressed,

If that is so, you understand is not the guns in citizen hands that is problematic. Rather all those underlying problems. Let just leave the USA out of this.

More equal, more republican, more citizen minded political model one embrace. There is a fine point of balance between individualism and society. I call freedom but what in fact could be named or defined in a numbers of ways but the core of it remains to be imbedded in a personal, individual responsibility. Which means that beside acting responsibility and wisely there are certain civic duties that need to be acted upon by an individual for the good of a society, a nation or a community a said individual belongs too.

Lets leave out of it collective minded people here like jon and others who don't care for people but love humanity.
Your argument about number of people who die due to gun crimes in this context of freedom, individualism and personal responsibility is irrational. To put it bluntly you think that is OK to threat individuals in a society as if they were unruly children under your care.

More teenagers are killed by texting and driving then guns in the U.S.A. by far.
Instead of focusing on outlawing guns in the U.S.A., you Europeans should focus on outlawing cell phones in the U.S.A. for us instead..

Makes about as much sense.
Does anyone know how many texting and driving deaths there are in Poland every year ?
I could find no statistics on it.
I would think more then gun deaths.
And before someone replies that texting while driving is against the law in Poland......it is against the law in the U.S.A. too.

Had to throw this in as it is just about as silly claiming that guns are the problem and not the person who misuses them same as the person who texts while driving.

Wtf - there are some truly weird arguments for guns but this is the weirdest. I am certain that texting while driving cause more deaths than guns in Poland. Thats because gun crime is very rare here. It's rare because guns are strictly controlled.

Next week...smoking kills thousands of Poles a year, maybe we should ban smoking and not guns.

truly weird arguments

Kind of like:

Thats because gun crime is very rare here. It's rare because guns are strictly controlled.

Funny, because there's plenty of countries with fairly lax gun laws yet have low rates of violent crimes/shootings. Czechy, Canada, Finland, Switzerland, Israel, Norway, UAE... the list goes on...Even the US despite having the highest rates of gun ownership and very lax laws compared to other countries has a far lower homicide by firearm rate per capita

Yet countries with stricter gun laws like France, Mexico, Jamaica, Brazil etc with very strict gun laws have a far higher rate of homicide of by firearm

This chart, which is pulled the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, shows there is NO correlation between higher levels of firearm ownership per capita and homicides per capita. It depends on the country and society - for one country will have lax gun laws and low crime yet another will have with strict gun laws and tons of firearm homicides per capita.

Czech, Switzerland , Norway etc do not have lax gun laws like the States - you can not buy an AK at Tesco, Migros etc. And you certainly can not carry them around in any European country. The level of gun crime in most European countries including France is many times less than in the US. All of that has been discuss3d many times before.

Your "gun facts" graph about the U.K. is ridiculous - in fact 99 percent of guns were banned in Britain from 1920 onwards - in 1996 they banned the other 1 percent, after the only school shooting in history in the U.K. one is too many the govt decided and quite rightly didn't not want any more made me walking around witheasy access to handguns.

The only countries on your graph with higher rates than the US seem to be Central American states and a few places in Africa. Shouldn't you compare yourselves to the other rich democracies ?

Your "gun facts" graph about the U.K. is ridiculous

Well the basic problem is that gun possession and violence arne't necessarily the same thing, London has topped NYC's murder rate for two months in a row! but no guns! stabbings.... yay????

Heck of a job Khanie, one. heck. of. a.... jobbb.

It is a problem in London for sure but those are freak months - last year New York had 290 murders, London 130.

It would be more in London if there were guns.

As for the mayor well people voted for him and they can vote him out too.

Even very strict gun control does not save an socially unstable country from falling into a gun crime riddled cesspit. I think that legislation alone does not stop the carnage, social cohesion and a homogeneous society such as in Poland also goes a long way to prevent this plague.

London now has more gun crime than New York, (even with tight gun control) 37 DEAD IN TWO MONTHS

Seventeen-year-old girl is shot dead in 'gang cross fire' as London murder epidemic gets worse: Teenager becomes capital's 37th victim to die in just TWO MONTHS as another boy, 16, is also shot

Of course not - it'needs good police, fair courts and above all citizens that understand their duties and not just harp on about their rights. It does not have to be a homogenous society - Switzerland with 3 major groups has hardly any gun crime, ditto Australia, Canada, Belgium.

Erm not really got time or is it on topic to nit pick all the groups but im afraid switzerland has 40 times more murders by firearms than the uk.

nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/Switzerland/United-Kingdom/Crime

mainly due to reservists who have a gun at home shooting the wife when pissed.

That just goes to show you that strict gun laws and low gun ownserhip is better at preventing fire arm related deaths than merely strict gun control.

That being said, strict gun control is better than nothing.

Dare I address the elephant in the room, but gun crime in London is confined to one or two ethnic groups are they following a fashion trend in another nation or nations. Any opinions on this, is it a trend like rap music etc, many gang members pose with guns or use their fingers to represent guns on social media , is it hip for certain ethnic groups to be seen with firearms.

Caribbean? or South of the Sahara? Everybody is supposed to be very, very polite and not notice differing crime rates across different groups.

very, very polite and not notice differing crime rates across different groups.

Hence the elephant in the room , should Poland take this into account when structuring its migrant policies, or is it too politically incorrect to even discuss this type of trend these days.

should Poland take this into account when structuring its migrant policies

Every country should take this into account.

or is it too politically incorrect to even discuss this type of trend these days.

the entire point of political correctness is to make people stupid and keep them that way, if you don't keep track of racial, ethnic and religious background of social indicators like crime, economic and academic achievement then you're making policy in a state of ignorance.

pretty it up however you want, but it's ignorance. I don't like ignorance.

You cant but an ar over the counter either in us. You dont just pay cash and get a rifle or handgun with no questions asked. There's a 3 day waiting period while your info is ran through the fbi.

Second, if more guns = more firearm homicides as you claim than why do switzerland, Canada, finland, czechy, etc have such low rates of shootings? Explain that one.

@dolno

That's because everyone's copying chicago drill culture. All those sounds imitating firearms in rap music, making noises that sound like a drill (the sound the echo many handguns make when fired rapidly in an urban area), threatening people while posing with guns, etc all that came from Chicago a decade ago and spread.

See, in dindu nuffin culture its okay to shoot at random people, claim your actually the victim of a cruel society, and its never your fault when the cops shoot you and brag about all that online while.making videos in the opps hood taunting other gangs

If i were chief of police in Chicago I could literally go on YouTube and immediately catch hundreds of suspects of unsolved homicides. Guys my age literally will go on YouTube and record themselves driving or walking in opps hood (dont even bother trying to figure out what colors you can't wear on what block) and listing off the names of.people they killed and even recording the place where they wshot such and such person. And a good chunk of these people work 9 to 5s but on their spare time theyre bangers.

And some lib is going to tell me I can't carry a gun for self defense and drop the anyone who threats my life? Fts! Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Also that list compares dozens of countries rich and poor. Poland has roughly the same gdp.per capita as Mexico yet mexico has tons of shootings polamd had almost none. The us actually ranks far low in per capita firearm homicides than many countries with far stricter gun laws, further showing that strict gun laws does not.correlate with less shootings as criminals have access to.guns everywhere in the world. Even in pl I could easily buy a handgun illegally same as crimianl can in finland oe canada regardless of strict laws or not.

But several posts above Dolno has corrected me - Switzerland with the highest firearms ownership in Europe also has a higher rate of shootings. Czech does not have loose firearms laws and it does not have a low rate of gun crime compared to the US. That has been explained many times before with statistics - and it is the reason why no country in Europe wants to relax gun laws.

All of these countries have far lower rates than the US. You can buy guns in Walmart and I don't know what checks are done but probably not enough in 3 days. There should be one check " do you want an AK or an Uzi in your house, near your kids?". If the answer is yes then you should not be allowed one.
Dirk diggler 10 | 4,585
3 Apr 2018 #653
You cant own autos without an atf license that takes even more checks and costs thousands and is I believe a yesr old process....

And it's an electronic system, they have your record in seconds. It's the transfer of paperwork that takes most of the 3 days.

What if someone wants to teach their kids how to hunt or target shoot, as is totally legal in numerous countries including european ones? Most fathers dont want their sons to grow up to be triggered pansies.

Just because the left has an irrational fear of guns doesnt mean that the rest of men should have to follow cucked soy boy mentality... and this perfectly illustrates why women view modern men as less masculine. For thousands of years men spent their whole lives around weapons and owning an air rifle or 22 or small shotgun was a sort of teenage rite of passage for many men, and I mean real men not soy boys who wet themselves upon being triggered at the sight of a rifle. If you dont want a gun dont own one, I do so i chose to - thats the beauty of democracy - having the freedom to chose things for yourself.
cms neuf 1 | 1,787
3 Apr 2018 #654
Well That's democracy in the US. But in Poland if you want to own a gun, then you are not allowed. That's also democracy - because that's what the democratically elected government of Poland wants.

You think owning a gun makes you a man?
Dirk diggler 10 | 4,585
3 Apr 2018 #655
Actually in poland a person can own a gun provided they pass the requirements, just as in America. Actually the processes are pretty similar with Poland only going a bit further to require membership in a shooting or hunting club.

And no it doesn't make you a man, but it helps prevent a man from turning into a triggered pink pussy hat wearing soy boy with a low t count. It also helps attract women as women don't like men who are more feminine then they are, except for maybe the butch type lesbians. Women want a man who provides security - financial, emotional, and actual physical security as well. A toothpick soy boy with a low t count (its scientific proof todays 20 30 y.o western man has the t counts of a grandpa) does not provide a woman security. Even if he wants a girl, he will be permantly stuck in the friend zone because he is not a real man. Real men shoot guns, drive a stick, drink, work out, **** and fight... not wear pink hates and chant love trumps hate in a pre pubescent voice.

Oh and fyi, gun ownership rates are steadily rising by about 5k new applications per year in poland. Many right wing parties want to promote gun ownership while still keeping a system.of checks and balances. Most poles dont own a gun for self defense because its a safe country that hasn't turned into a multikulti hell where migrants have caused rapes and other violent crimes to.skyrocket. should that ever happen, as unlikely as it is in a society where the vast majority rejects me and african migration, i bet ownership rapes and applications would grow even more.

And fortunately the shooting and hunting clubs are extremely picky about who is let in and also have to notify the police and have psychological tests and no criminal records. So all in all far more difficult than the US. And that is just for owning a rifle or hunting weapon - not for owning an A,which is basically impossible unless you are in the Presidents guard.

As for the rest of your post well for me it's job done in the reproduction department. Unfortunately raising your kids well requires a lot more difficulty than being able to squeeze a trigger and take out a squirrel or a prairie hen. You will find that out one day

Not sure what drive a stick means - I will need to google it. If you mean drive a stick shift then that is what almost every Polish driver does, including women god forbid.

That's one of the most immature rants about 'what it means to be a man' I've heard in a long time. I'm a women and never, ever would I consider a man with such narrow views.

As to teaching your kid how to hunt- it's illegal in Poland for kids to take part in hunting
Dirk diggler 10 | 4,585
3 Apr 2018 #659
In us you cant have a gun legag psychological record or be a convicted felon. You also cant own a gun if you have a cannabis card. So again, pretty similar albiet a little less strict than poland and that's mainly because of the pro gun lobby and the countries historical relationship with guns.

And what do you think a semi auto ar15 and all its derivatives are? All rifles use similar rounds most usr 223/5.56

And actually no, for raising a boy to become a real man, not a soyboy beta, all you need to do is expose him to things normal men have done for thousands of years - not have him dress as a fairy to school and play with barbies. Kids look to their parents first and if a father/mother is allowing even encouraging a boy to cross dress and reading him books like daddy's new roommate or play with girls toys how do you expect him to grow up? Hell grow up to be a cucked beta male just like his excuse for a father. Now if a boy plays with plastic soldiers, toy cars, dresses according to his gender, play sports esp contact ones and learns to shoot a gun when hes a teen the chances of him becoming a cucked beta soy boy are far less.
Tacitus 2 | 1,382

And here I thought that Americans needing a gun to receive validation as a man was just a silly stereotype.... .
