Just looking for a little help,
I am living in Poland and it's getting far too expensive to run my UK mobile which has now come to the end of it's contract, so to me it makes sense to swap for a Polish SIM.
What I am looking to do is take a contract, however I'm unsure how difficult this will be. I have already searched and found some information on polish forums within a similar thread and also spoken with a customer advisor on the PLAY website (although I think they were themselves unsure).
Basically my status is, I'm a British citizen, live with my wife (whom is Polish), I am fully registered here in the sense that I am registered against the address with local authority, I have my karta pobytu from the Województwa and I have a PESEL too.
I did read that you would need a PESEL, credit card, proof of residency and registration details etc. all of which I have but a credit card (well I do but not a polish one)
Also what about proof of income, as at the moment it's just my wife working here, and I am about to register to get a joint bank account with her.
In case it helps the girl I spoke to on the PLAY website seemed to think I would need a polish ID card, however I can't see how this would be the case, as there are many foreigners now working in Poland who are not nationals and surely they must have some kind of setup

I have been with the Orange phone service for ages and no problem. If your wife is Polish and therefore you live in Poland with her, if you have Karta pobytu, PESEL number.., it should be alright. You don't need Polish id (= citizenship) to subscribe for a tel. All they want is that the foreigner lives in a steady way in Poland. If at Play, they are not too good, go to Orange, who is one of the leading operator in the world.
