After marriage do I have to file for Poland residency?

I'll be getting married to a Polish man, in Poland, very soon.
Once we're married, will there be other things that need to be done? Such as filing to be able to work, and do I have to file for residency, or does being married mean I don't have to do this? I'm here in Poland on the 90 day, where I don't need a visa. The time from that will be up soon though.

You have to file for residency (assuming you're not from an EEA country) but, as far as I know, you don't need a work permit.

I'm here in Poland on the 90 day, where I don't need a visa. The time from that will be up soon though.

In that case, do not delay at all: go to your local foreigners office and apply for a residency permit.

Oh no.
Once I'm married, does the clock not stop on the 90 day count down?
If not, once it runs out will I be kicked out of Poland, even though I'm married?
(I am from USA)

As far as I know, it does not (and I'd be somewhat surprised to hear that it did).

About that I wouldn't like to say.

Basically you need to check now where you local foreigners office is and what time they open on Monday. Then go there next Monday. Apart from anything else, you need to apply for a residency permit at least 30 days before your 90-day visa expires.

Actually 45 days before it expires... Check here for more info: udsc.gov.pl

Related: 2 weeks after marriage to get UE ID. Is it true?

Hi! I'm from Philippines and my bf is coming over to marry me. He was saying after we get married, it would take like 2 weeks to get UE ID. Is it true?

looks like you two have a lot in common. You're tricking him into marriage for an EU passport and he's just tricking you into marriage.

Is it true?

No, it'll take at least 30 days to get your resident's card. And it must be done in Poland.

The way it was explained to me was that as spouse of a Polish citizen I could not be deported, but that Polish law requires that I get a temporary long term residence permit.

Not sure what the penalty would be for non-compliance. I would guess a fine of some type??? Or a severe evil-eye stare from a government official??
