Do I need a Notary to witness my signature on a witness statement?

Hi,

So my old landlord is involved in a lawsuit with an ex-room mate of mine in the states and needs me to sign and send a document (as I have been asked to provide a witness statement). I need someone to witness the signature and I was wondering if I can just go to a regular notariusz here? Has anyone ever had problems with this? The document is in English. Would anyone know a good notary in Warsaw? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks
Harry

Yes but they will charge you for that. I'd make sure your former landlord is going to pay for it first.

Really, a notary to witness a witness statement? In the UK as long as the Police see you doing it that's enough.

notary just verifies the signature, meaning notary public in usa just verifies that the person signing is the real person mentioned there, any bank in usa will do it free or one can pay 1or2 bucks from a mooneymaker

Yes, you can get such a certification of signature. It costs 20 pln + vat 23%
i might be a problem to certifie the signature under pure English text, but a Polish -English version should do.
