Life / Calendar of Polish Name Days [36]

I guess its just part of the culture to remember name-days (a patron saint's day - rather than birthdays). This anniversary is important for Poles and as far as i know, in no other culture is it celebrated in such a special way

Ohh i bought a few films in Poland, to help with my learning, as i heard it was a good way to learn, plus they where far cheaper than here.

Life / Favourite Polish movies? [107]

I was given a Polish film called "tato" as a christmas present, i havent watched it yet, just wondered if anyone had heard of it and if it was a good film?

Director is Maciej Slesicki and stars Boguslaw Linda, Cezary Pazura, Krystyna Janda.

UK, Ireland / Polish Beer In The UK [98]

My favourite beer is ┼╗ywiec ...searched every where for it when i came home from Poland and i was so pleased when i eventually found a store selling it here. We got lots of Polish shops here but none of them are licensed to sell beer unfortunately
