USA, Canada / Opening a small shop, and selling many Polish items in USA. Do you think this would work? [32]

I am thinking of buying from a friend in Poland, and selling them for less than the store's in Chicago charge. Do you think this could work?

I may, even, if this goes over good, open a small shop, and sell many Polish items. Do you think this would work?

I like your enthusiasm, unfortunately, I know of several small Polish stores in Chicago that have closed up over the past year or so.

You would have to compete with places like, Rich`s Polish deli and liquors, A&G`s and

Plus there are many more Ma and Pa type places left.

These huge supermarkets already have everything you can get in Poland here for cheap prices, not to mention you will have to deal with the FDA in regards of importing food.

Best of luck to you though, I encourage small businesses in our area but do your research:)

Think of all the benefits the Mexicans are getting in the USA. Not only housing and child benefits, but also ice cream money from the American government!

Its like they get rewarded for breaking the law, If I were to get caught working in Mexico Illegally they would put me in a prison.

well let's think about this.....what about the cheap labor they provide?

There are many migrant workers that come here to work and return home.

Im not against Immigration as long they do it legally and pay taxes like the rest of us.

I dont know how the UK will accommodate the influx of people on welfare, because theyre all citizens,,yes?

Were broke over here as well and have to stop giving out free handouts to Illegals, thats for certain!

Its sounds exactly like our problem with the Illegal Mexicans, but they sneak in!

Im glad for US visa restrictions and all in favor of deportation, maybe a little jail sentence first would detour some of these criminals that enter Illegally or dont return when they promise.

England is being stretched almost to the point of economic collapse, joining the EU is going to be their downfall.

Food / Polish fast food joints? [59]

green pints of stout is just kinda wrong....stout has to be the colour it'[s meant to be.......which reminds me that I need to organise getting the day off work.

Green beer is served at some pubs on St.Paddys day and by the end of the night, you look around and everyones teeth are bright green...lol

And the next day any unsold beer is 1/2 price,,,alky special!!

Polish fast food joints, I just got an amazing idea for dinner!
Maybe Ill walk down the alley to Cerwone Jablusko for take out buffet:)
We have a lot of Polish restaurants but wouldnt consider them as "fast food" like Mickey D`s

It was worth a try but when you have the sort of people that carry knives in and are all wasted,,,,bad combo!
We were going to get this fancy security system and hire some bouncers,,Still I dont think Polish will come back to that area. My partner who owns the property has 4 other Pubs (Irish style) so we just split up the booze between the other bars.

I didnt loose out of any money and hes super rich and doesnt care, so Ill chalk it up as another learning exp!

I did get to keep a bunch of Polish Wodka:)

Hey, I called Krysia and told her people are looking for her on PF and she sounded excited, so maybe shell be here soon:)

Served to you by Mexicans that barely speak English, and they even dress up in green for the St.Paddys day parade and try to sell you T-shirts...I dont think it works out very well for them as they try to blend in,,,lol

Business was too slow and the once nice Polish neighborhood is now all Mexican, the only customers that came in were gangbangers and it was too much trouble.

Poles dont want to come back to the old neighborhood, I cant really blame them!

Poles come to America and install their own rules instead of following the rules of this country, then they wonder why Americans don't like them.

Just like the Poles that keep parking on my property and after nicely asking them not to park there over 10x and they keep pretending not to understand English. I called the Police, guess what? They were ticketed and towed,,I gave them fair warning,all they do is lie and smile to your face!

They have a nice fleet of plows in Toronto, Chicago etc... what about in Poland?
You should buy a snowmobile it will be springtime by the time the guys with the shovels get finished, or they could hire the Chinese to clear the roads that they built?

Outside of Poland is there a reason to learn Polish,,probably not??
In Chicago it could be helpful, not anywhere else in the US or the rest of the world for that matter. Why would anybody want to learn a language that you will never use unless you move to Poland? If I were to do that, I would be studying for months beforehand out of respect.

The whole world speaks English and theyre a lot dumb polocks that immigrate and live in the USA for over 30/40 years and still all they know how to say is,,,How you doink!!!

I think that English spoken by Polish people sounds really monotonous and completely unsexy.

Im the exact opposite, its sounds sexy when I hear eastern European girls speaking English:)
